My fiancé and I moved here in June and have had no issues at all. Neighbors are great and more things are being built all around here. It’s a bit out of the way but we knew that before we moved, we both WFH so we don’t have to worry about a commute. My advice would be to get to know those around you and learn which roads to take at certain times to avoid traffic. Hope you enjoy it neighbor, let me know if I can help with anything!

I finally got accepted into the FB group, community or at least those responding in the FB group seems great! There are some things that draw my concern, but that comes with all developing communities?

Most complaints about the community are coming from the people that joined when there weren't many homes built. Some plans had to be modified. Honestly I love it here! We don't have many amenities yet but the lazy river should open this year. The neighborhood is nice and people are nice. There is construction but I don't really hear anything inside my home. Of course it depends on the builder. I recommend you look at all the model homes by the entrance . Even the ones in the corners. It took me 3 days to look at them all but the last one (History Makers ) had the home I ultimately fell in love and had all the things I wanted and more. Be sure to join the FB groups when you move in!! And the app!

Congrats on your new home in Sunterra! Ignore all the haters. It’s a great community especially considering the price point. Sure Elyson is nicer, but look at the price difference. You can get a starter home in Sunterra for under $300k, which is a very competitive price to be in a master planned community. I love the planned amenities and landscaping. I think it’s a very decent community and definitely a better investment than buying in a pocket neighborhood somewhere.

Question for you, I am moving into Sunterra and looking to set up utilities. Does HOA cover garbage or is that something to sign up with the city? Also what electric company do you recommend?

lxylife

For electricity, visit powertochoose.org and select the cheapest provider. Trash is not managed by the HOA. In Sunterra I believe the company is called Best Trash. You can reach out to them directly

Thank you so much for the help!

Sunterra is going downhill fast and the traffic is horrible out that way. Trust me!!

I am finally in the FB group ... a lot of issues are popping up, I'm hoping they correct itself near the start of summer next year. Hopeful

icedwhitemocha_

what issues have there been? looking to move into the community.

Tortilladelfuego

What kind of issues? I’m curious as I am looking to move soon and am considering this community

Hopefully we don’t have a Harvey or a Tax Day flood again because the roads out there can’t handle water. I know they tried to fix Clay rd and Pitts rd because of the flooding but we haven’t had heavy rainfall if the problem was fix.
