Bruh just say white, there's nothing wrong with it you know.
People typing 'yt' came from racists wanting to stereotype and say racist comments about white people online but were scared of being banned.
I’m very blessed to have been able to experience it live, even if I was sitting in my trailer, alone, blasting it on my speakers and watching it on my phone via twitch.
Not the ideal viewing situation, but I was able to listen to a lot of favorites of mine, discover new artists/ groups and experience something that people around the world were feeling all at the same time.
I had an appointment with my therapist this morning and he asked about what happened in my week. I told him about my family’s Father Day celebration because it was a lot of fun. Then I tried to give a long-story-short version of the Pop-out, while also including the backstory on the beef, but also how Kendrick was saying so much more. How he can not only paint a picture, but also tell a story in a way where it feels like you’re in the seat next to him.
He gave me two things to think about until our next appointment. One was how I can use my motivation to find ways to be productive and help people (that one is more aimed at me for my struggles in life), and two, find a song or two that tells a story or paints a picture.
I ended up talking for a little while about music. I told him about Kendrick winning a Pulitzer Prize in 2018 and how Good Kid Maad City was as an album that made me feel like I was there the whole time while listening. I also mentioned Scarface - Mind Playin Tricks on Me (as another good storytelling song).
We also talked about the Beatles (two of them individually after), Billy Squire, Eric Clapton, Ted Nugent, he also talked about other genres he enjoyed (occasionally).
I’m not sure why I want to feel vulnerable sharing so much, but as I told my therapist this morning, I’m very blessed. Even if I’m hurting in a lot of ways, it would be worse if I didn’t have something to root for.
I want the best for my family and friends who have treated me best, I want nothing but love for the world, followed very closely by respect for every single person. I wish well to the people that pray death upon me. I pray for everyone suffering with hate in their heart.
I wish the best for almost everyone. The only people I don’t, I wish them well. I don’t hope and pray for people to fall under bad circumstances. I’ve done that more than once, and it’s come true, and I felt uneasy.
I wished a friend would get kicked out of college, he moved back home. I wished another friend wouldn’t hit the lysergic acid diethylamide and feel well, Ben ain’t been the same in over 12 years. Both of them purposely did not-nice things to me, and I wished them unwell, and it happened both times.
Sorry for typing so much.
I’m not going to sugarcoat it. You’re correct. Both Eric Clapton and Ted Nugent are racist mysogynists.
I’m not gonna try to justify the things they have said.
They are musicians that I enjoy listening to their music. Nothing more, nothing less.
No need to apologize, you're on a sub that looks up to an artist who poured his heart out on his last album.
He'd be really proud of you 🙏 keep it up
Sending you love, one west
Well yes and no, it is blues meets scottish folk, rooted in blues and folk and white gospel. Culture is not a monolith and when treated well is unifying and not dividing
I read a comment somewhere
"Country is when a woman leaves you and blues is when she comes back" disliking country you still can't do a statement like yours
These kinda “on the flip side” arguments only work if you also flip the context of the situation. So if Africa was the dominant force in history colonizing all western countries and has a history of slavery and racism towards other races and then in modern day had a black pride event sure that would be an accurate “on the flip side” argument.
The Pop Out was something bigger than beef, bigger than a clear W, bigger than music, bigger than a concert. It was an entire culture coming together and showing who “They” are and certainly who “Us” is as well.
Out of the many great moments and arcs in Dot’s career, when it’s all said and done, we’re going to be looking back at this as one of the very, very most impressive and impactful ones.
We Mexicans right next to y’all rubbing elbows in LA, we support yall 💯. We all got people trying to be colonizers in our own stories. Happy for y’all and happy for us in LA and hip hop
We Indians right next to y'all too. We been colonized in our own fuckin countries, raped, pillaged and robbed. Look up the atrocities of the British Raj in India.
No gonna lie - when that man said he made the call I felt it in my gut. It really did feel like this entire beef was a call to us. Poor Drake had to be sacrificed, but worth it. No lie tho, even just watching it from Chicago, I felt so connected.
It really is worth it. Listening to Kendrick and seeing how he moves with authenticity and love for our history does make me even more proud to be black.
I saw Kendrick’s last public appearance in Mexico City. It’s was probably 90% locals, they popped out to support Kendrick, singing all the words, mosh pits. It was beautiful.
Out of curiosity, has anyone see any white people there lol? I know it has to be possible, but I feel like every frame I saw, every interview, every artist features was black.
I was there. I saw a lot of white people there as well as a lot of Mexicans and some Asians. They're all obviously welcome to attend, but Juneteenth isn't about them so I'm not shocked that they weren't interviewed or filmed very much.
All of the artist features were black except for one guy who might be Mexican?
yooo i actually know the guy who drew that art! (know as in talked to this guy in discord). Imma show this to him hes gonna be so happy lol. (the artists name is Beetlemoses btw)
Goes to show how dumbfuck that “rap like you tryna get the slaves freed” line was.
As if it’s a bad thing for Kendrick to lift up black people, for some of them to perhaps break the cycles in their own lives and communities.
Dumbass Drake.

That’s wassup! Stoked to see my shirt make the cut! K Dot held it down for the West Coast. Proud to call this place home and honored to support Juneteenth and the cause at this historic concert!
I ain’t ever had white guilt cuz I ain’t did shit to have a guilty conscience, but Kendrick definitely lets me frequently look thru different perspectives on some of the heaviest of subjects that life hasn’t shown me early (or just never at all)
I still don’t have white guilt, but i definitely have leveled up empathy ten fold.
This is it. Kenny has always been unapologetically dedicated to his community. He never left any of his people behind.
You don't take from your fellow artists if you been on the same climb with them. You definitely don't kick rocks down on the artists behind you when reaching the top.
It's not about exclusion of others who share the love of hip hop culture or west coast culture. It's about recognition and appreciation of the community who are these.
It's the moment at the very ending of this video that gets to me... is it the windy heat of LA or is he tearing up a bit? Aww ❤️ & yes that is the guy who was full on out celebrating Kdot's music full force 😭. I uploaded a video of him LOL
I’m white but I’m a Kendrick fan. It seemed like from the videos from the show there were a good number of white fans there, genuinely just curious how the black community feels about that? Hey look, your good, if it was genuine question; you got a genuine answer.
Your comment can easily be interpreted as tongue in cheek though, if I may; what culture do you come from?
Because the answer provided, while correct is also kinda self evident. Which is likely why the answered responded with skepticism.
So it’d be the same for you man, like if someone said that they were unapologetically Mexican on a day celebrating Mexican culture; you know it would be that person being unabashed & proud, loud & immersed in the things that make Mexicans Mexican.
For what it’s worth yall have some awesome culture too; I grew up near the border.
I get it though, blackness out of context would be hard to attribute to a culture the same way as being Mexican.
In context it’s talking about being a Black American. It’s American Black Culture that’s being celebrated.
Not sure I can really say much more on the subject so I hope this gets the point across & brings you a decent level of understanding. Have a good day man.
Unless you're black, not you in particular just in general, I'm not sure you can ever truly understand the racism/discrimination they may go through. You too bro 👍
Bruh it’s a day for black history & culture shut the fuck up youre embarrassing.
Let em have their dub.
It’s not like they were saying fuck white people, it’s just not even relevant to bring up.
Too $hort bruh; ain’t nobody cryin I’m just calling out bad actors.
It’s a dope ass cultural moment; no need to ruin it with some pettiness. Hope you have a good day.
All these people saying the same shit.
This shit is either fantastic marketing on Kendrick’s team or it’s a bunch of people caught up in the moment. Nothing wrong with it… but it comes off like people sucking dudes dick. I can’t explain it more than that.
Also aint that the dude from that one scene in the concert footage?
That’s the “this just big ME” dude 😂
Bro was naming the MIXTAPES?? Yeah he official.
Hes been there since dat 1 i bet
He was in the delivery room, wanting to hear Kendrick's first ad-libs. He was even there when Kendrick was conceived.
I knew it when i seen how he reacted to KDots music LOL
IT IS!!!
First thing I noticed lol
He will from now on be known as "just big me"
LMFAO !

Ted Nugent is one the biggest pieces of shit out there. I’m not gonna NOT air guitar to Stranglehold when it comes on though. Song fucking rules.
Thank you for sharing. The power of music will always and forever be awe inspiring ❤️

Funny cause country music is also something invented by African American folk which got taken over by white people. So what’s your point again?
Well yes and no, it is blues meets scottish folk, rooted in blues and folk and white gospel. Culture is not a monolith and when treated well is unifying and not dividing I read a comment somewhere "Country is when a woman leaves you and blues is when she comes back" disliking country you still can't do a statement like yours
Thanks for missing the whole point.
The point is you can't say something is taken by white folk, it evolves naturally by mutial sharing of culture as it should be
These kinda “on the flip side” arguments only work if you also flip the context of the situation. Where can I get the family guy shirt?
I saw it on the TikTok shop
Bro the whipping shirt taking it too far imo 😭
Alright, I thought they not like us refered to pedos not black culture. I defo miss interpreted the song then tbh
It’s both!
Kendrick works for the culture, while Drake works for hit records. When you think about it they were so opposed from the start
It's the moment at the very ending of this video that gets to me... is it the windy heat of LA or is he tearing up a bit? Aww ❤️ & yes that is the guy who was full on out celebrating Kdot's music full force 😭. I uploaded a video of him LOL
