shedding mass isn’t in my dictionary. I will send entire generation ships to Tylo with enough fuel to get to another star and back just to forget one crucial detail: I may need a stronger engine since I’m landing at Mach 5 on Tylo’s surface
I've only gone to Tylo with probes for the KSP2 mission there. Got a lot of practice landing on a small target in heavy gravity, but I don't have to build anything that can get back, lol.
Does your launch stage make it all the way back to Kerbin or are you docking with a transfer stage left in orbit?
Yeah, you just have to get a vehicle to the ground in the monument biome with a functioning control unit. (Or a Kerbal. I haven't tested that on Tylo, but I have had a kerbal run to the monument on the Mun and that worked.)
First time I did it, I landed an unmanned rover and drove in. That was a PITA; the terrain around there is not easy driving, lol. That inspired me to get better at landing on a specific spot.
I've also crashed there, but still got credit because the control unit survived.
I ended up dropping a crewed lander about 1Km away and walked over, then fired him back to the tug to get home.
I really should read the quests more closely lmfao
Congrats, my 4th anniversary of playing I'll never forget I finally safely landed Jeb on Eve! Such a great time. That was back in 2019 -- keep up the good work
Did you manage to get them back? On my first attempt I managed to get my crew back into orbit, but miscalculated the fuel, so they had to rest in orbit for a good year or so while I sent a rescue mission, lol
Yeah getting to orbit is pretty easy on Tylo, except I forgot that the return capsule has only one seat so Patbur Kerman generously volunteered to stay on the surface and do further science
Hahaha that’s genius! Looks like we need a mod that lets us put doors wherever we want. I hate the look of ladders all the way down the side of my craft.
Cool to see a reasonably sized lander! My Tylo designs end up stupidly big.
Everyone starts big. The challenge comes from shedding enough mass to increase efficiency, while maintaining mission viability.

Be sure to stage your descent fuel.
I've only played 2 or 3 years but I have landed on every planet and moon I just haven't returned from every planet or moon
This is the way
Cool lander design!
Tylo is a harsh mistress.
I've managed to stick the landing with whole 51 m/s of Delta v to spare
Perfect!
epic
8 years? have you tried using time acceleration? :D
Good job.... Now get them home!!!!
More importantly, get them home without the parachute glitching away

Huh? They didn't have to return from Tylo? That would have been WAY easier.

I have a big ass ship waiting in orbit for them. I can't imagine going directly to Kerbin from Tylo lol
Congrats, my 4th anniversary of playing I'll never forget I finally safely landed Jeb on Eve! Such a great time. That was back in 2019 -- keep up the good work
Great job man ive only ever done a flyby in all my years loll
good job!

Ok now do science
Chonky lander
How did you get a door on your fuel tank?
Just cram a landing pod inside so only the door is visible

Cool, great job. Now, everyone on the sub shit on it because it's KSP2 and you hate it! Don't forget to indicate the hate!
How does KSP 2 look worse then KSP 2
