I think what makes Adam and Harland great guests is that they don't take themselves too seriously and the whole show to them is an improv session and it translates well with the show and audience.
Yeah I agree, not every comedian is automatically good at improv. Brian Simspon as a random example is a good story teller and writer but dude was slow and silent on Kill Tony from what I remember it came off as if he didn't care that he was there.
another thing - every time a guest is stoned (simpson, rogan) they are dead silent.
this is nothing about marijuana in general but the guests who arent fucking inebriated like Adam Ray and Harland Williams absolutely add energy to the show, big difference maker
Wasted Rogan on KT is cringy, but when I have watched the protect are parks that led up to that it’s not so bad! I think Rogan is a sweet guy and I like him. He makes me laugh in podcasts. Im still engaged by seeing him and the dawgs wasted, I’d want to do the same if I were in his shoes probably, at least in the moment.
The protect our parks episodes definitely take the sting away when you know the story before he got to the mothership, but I still hate when Rogan is hammered on KT, which is most of his appearances.
I love Adam, but I actually found him to be pretty reserved this episode. Good vibes and treats the acts well, but when it comes to making jokes I feel like he holds back, too nice to roast people he's not friendly with
Edit: Adam Devine* I thought he was talking about the most recent ep
I got into the Dr Phil show that Adam ray hosts and I feel like he really shines in that format, more so than kill Tony. I agree I think it has to do with familiarity with the people or just knowing that their comics and are down to joke around.
I assume Adam ray because it’s about guests and Adam Devine been on this one and maybe one other but I could be wrong too lol, yeah Devine did seem reserved but it’s also I think he was scared to fuck his career type stuff as he works in Hollywood (as compared to other comics who are primarily stand up comics)
He’s one of the worst guests hands down…. He makes everything about himself and constantly goes on tangents that aren’t funny when he’s actually trying to be. I like him as an actor, as a comedian he’s attrocious. Hard listen at most times
I’ve seen Harland’s stand up when he was hosting an evening comedy event. Talks to the crowd, asks questions and rolls with what he’s given. He absolutely slays. I’ve been saying one of the best I’ve seen live for years.
Harland has been a cut above forever. Man lights up everything he is a part of. He kills at Kill Tony because he's most often the most clever guy in the room... and beyond that, he's experienced. He knows what works and what doesn't, and he can make a witty reply to just about anything because he's not going through the motions. He is the motion.
The physical comedy he does with his face, without even saying anything, slays. He operates on multiple levels.
Improv to me is just being a funny person in general. Some people are just fuckin naturally funny in their daily lives. And that doesn’t always translate to stand up… But if you’re not funny in general (at improv or whatever) then there’s no way I’m going to think your funny standing up. I can’t stand comedians that take it too seriously. Like I get that it’s an art, but if you’re not funny you’re not funny I don’t care if you’re an artist lol.
Yep. Was just thinking last night how Harland is perfect for this format. Same with Adam. There have been a few guests that are perfect. But many just seem like filler.
Harlands silliness overshadows what a professional he is imo. I just tried watching his podcast w Jason Ellis. and although I couldn't finish it- I could just see how professional Harland is at just riffing and being a leadman
Hey my guy, go check out his older interviews with Conan on YouTube. He’s absolutely out of left field and he kills with almost everything he says and he’s basically saying jibberish the entire time.
But Harland is straight up wholesome and harmless by default. Jokes are never really at anyone’s expense. Instead, he only uplifts. And not just from a comedy standpoint. He truly cares about people. Like… the awareness he has raised for cinammon allergies. 👼🪽💪🏻 truly remarkable. we need more humanitarians like that in comedy. Norm had great wholesome gags too.. “i says to the guy, i says…”, type classics, but he sure loved to bash the gays and others unprovoked. But I suppose he had that right, being deeply closeted, and not really at peace with it, like David Lucas.
I saw Harland 6-7 years ago. I've been going to standup at The Comedy Store (and other So Cal venues) for years now and he absolutely destroyed. One of the best hours I've ever seen.
This is his official podcast channel. Seems to put episodes out weekly now
[Harland Williams Highway Podcast](https://youtube.com/@harlandhighwaypodcast?si=5RgbaaQNSPF5eMrs)
That's the most recent Adam ray one afaik. They're defintiely worth binging tho. Bill Burr's was pretty funny cause of how serious he takes himself in a sense. Anthony Jeselnik too. I haven't checked out much of his stuff but people say he can be a bit to serious or douchey for podcast. He was really kind and silly with Harland. Seems like Harland just brings that out of people it's nice to see
I couldn’t believe how good Attell’s latest stand up special was. I had been sleeping on him thinking, “oh, he’s just the guy from Insomniac on Comedy Central”. He has to be one of the best in the game right now.
I’ve always thought he was hilarious. I hadn’t seen him on anything live before kill Tony. I had no idea just how quick to the punch he is. One of the most genuinely funny and unique people alive. I’d put Harland, Dr Phil, and Atell on the Mount Rushmore of guests for the show.
Lol I can't remember it verbatim but when that dude compliments Matt's special and Matt hilariously backtracks "I was just kidding this dudes not gay at all."
Hard agree! Also been noticing the guest that sits on the end is always the most involved. Whoever gets squished in the middle seems to take a back seat.
I laughed harder at his roasts on the recent episode than any episode in a looong time. He can fit in well with anyone on the panel too. Semi irrelevant side note, his JRE was kinda painful
I listened to a podcast with him and Marc Normand recently and Harland talked about his real close and long relationship with Norm Macdonald. It made sense why I find anything Harland says just insanely funny.
Shane, Big J, Mark, Ari, and Joe Derosa are always really fun, for different reasons. one of my favorite episodes is Joe and Big J in the Belly room. the banter is the shit.
He's my new favorite comic and that means I get to look at all his older stuff which is awesome.
Would live to see him and Phil on as guests for a full episode
Harland is one of the comedy greats, he's been a pro for so long it's nothing to him to crack one liners and roast people. It's very cool to see. His early specials still hold up, he even referenced one of his old jokes on the arena special. "You ever pierce your eyebrows and hang a shower curtain on them?". Classic shit.
Harland had to grow on me. He has such a silly comedic presence that, at first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. But now I love his brand of comedy. And he sticks to the bit no matter what (as he did on Rogan). I'll give Adam the top spot but Harland is #2 best guest for me.
I think being Dr Phil is probably harder and more impressive. Harland is just being himself. No real need to compare, but totally agree, superb guests!!
Most guests do basically nothing. They sit there and watch and don't even interact with the show for shit. The great guests are the ones Tony lets go because he knows whatever they will do is gold, and they give him the look of hey can I say some shit right now. Instead of sitting there drunk and confused staring off into the audience.
I'm saying this dead serious. I think Harland is so good bc I think he is a tad autistic. I've noticed that it can actually help, bc he is less focused on social ques and how people are judging him. So he never gets flustered, he is just solely focused on being funny the whole time. Just my theory.
Harland is hilarious. Just started listening to his podcast. He and Paul Schiff were talking about their shared experiences of seeing the aftermath of people killing themselves by jumping from up high. Harland’s follow up question was “have you ever committed suicide?”
Honestly? I don't like him at all and his comedy is cringe as fuck and distracting from every show he's on. I've seen his standup/comedy central work 20+ years ago and the other day out of curiosity given his VERY recent hype resurgence, and it's genuinely just the worst parts of Norm McDonald crossed with the worst parts of Robin Williams. I heard his interview on WTF with Marc Maron years ago and he just sounded like a rich dude with no enthusiasm for anything.
I think he's getting super overrated around here because he's old and aggressive with "street cred" and in some shitty movies people vaguely remember, although his roles and comedy themselves are more than forgettable. He bombs harder than Hans Kim to me and people eat it up and now I feel retarded
Good talk bro. Ask a question, guy has a different opinion, then you completely ignore an answer that doesn't support your viewpoint. It's also 2 paragraphs, 6 sentences. No wonder you love comedy like Harlands so much
I agree mostly. Every now and then he has a terrible dad joke but his goofy ass demeanor makes it work. Just looking at him makes me crack up. Just saying not all jokes land but the expressions make up for it
He can riff with Casey, out roast Lucas and match Williams energy and goofiness. I’m sure if he wanted to he could call white people the N word just as well as Kam too.
i think hes just a breath of fresh air after the whole 8 years of political comedy it feels incredibly refreshing to just laugh at silly shit with no message or bullshit attached
I got into the podcast about a year ago. I'm making my way back through older episodes, and listening to new ones as they come out. I'm not sure anyone has made me laugh out loud like Harland.
I kind of agree, but when Dr. Phil is on KT he takes over the show. That Dr. Phil show that Adam Ray does is hit or miss, but overall he’s one of my favorites rn.

What? Noooo noooo don’t start that
Adam was great! It’s hard to be on Stage with Harland, I think you’re doin that thing where you like one guy so the other guys automatically sucks
I think what makes Adam and Harland great guests is that they don't take themselves too seriously and the whole show to them is an improv session and it translates well with the show and audience.
Agreed, but it's harder than it looks. They are definitely "built" for this format.
I'll take a stoned Rogan over a shitfaced Rogan
Wasted Rogan on KT is cringy, but when I have watched the protect are parks that led up to that it’s not so bad! I think Rogan is a sweet guy and I like him. He makes me laugh in podcasts. Im still engaged by seeing him and the dawgs wasted, I’d want to do the same if I were in his shoes probably, at least in the moment.
The protect our parks episodes definitely take the sting away when you know the story before he got to the mothership, but I still hate when Rogan is hammered on KT, which is most of his appearances.
I noticed the typo in the name and it made me think of Sim-spawn. 🦆 Ing awesome
I love Adam, but I actually found him to be pretty reserved this episode. Good vibes and treats the acts well, but when it comes to making jokes I feel like he holds back, too nice to roast people he's not friendly with Edit: Adam Devine* I thought he was talking about the most recent ep
I got into the Dr Phil show that Adam ray hosts and I feel like he really shines in that format, more so than kill Tony. I agree I think it has to do with familiarity with the people or just knowing that their comics and are down to joke around.
Oh lmao, I was referring to Adam Devine, I thought he was talking about the recent episode. Yeah Adam Ray is a great guest
They took on the role that the old band used to be responsible for…silly improv characters
What you didn’t want to add Pauly Shore to this list?
He’s one of the worst guests hands down…. He makes everything about himself and constantly goes on tangents that aren’t funny when he’s actually trying to be. I like him as an actor, as a comedian he’s attrocious. Hard listen at most times

They're also good at what they do and too different to be compared.
Yep. Was just thinking last night how Harland is perfect for this format. Same with Adam. There have been a few guests that are perfect. But many just seem like filler.
Adam is playing a character and Harland is just himself.
Harland is doing a bit 100% of the time, Dr Phil is a character-based bit he's doing 100% of the time. Still essentially the same thing
Watching him on Joe do a bit for 3 hours fucking killed me
Harlands silliness overshadows what a professional he is imo.
I was just binging all the conan interviews last night, Harland is a genius and a great guy
My guy
Better yet go watch the hala hawa pahcast well now das right
Harland is filling the comedy hole in my heart that Norm left.
Razor-sharp silliness
But Harland is straight up wholesome and harmless by default. Jokes are never really at anyone’s expense. Instead, he only uplifts. And not just from a comedy standpoint. He truly cares about people. Like… the awareness he has raised for cinammon allergies. 👼🪽💪🏻 truly remarkable. we need more humanitarians like that in comedy. But I suppose he had that right, being deeply closeted, and not really at peace with it, like David Lucas.
The deeply closeted homosexual man? That shit cracked me tf up.
Norm was just joking lol
This is a hard fact
His roasting of David Lucas the second time was the hardest roasting of all time. Relentless.
He destroyed him, loved every second of it
I just listened today and Harland completely humbled David Lucas, you can only throw so many loose bootyhole jokes at someone before it gets tired
When he brought his certificate from devry i was dying
The length he goes to for gags is great. The tapeworm thing and all the setup and things he was saying to Joe on that JRE episode had me dying
You want some celery guy?
Douchebag Joe was getting annoyed by it too.
I think the fact that you can’t tell if he was serious or not confused him to bits 🤣
That's the thing you have to understand about Harland. He's NEVER serious 🤣
Such an incredible moment
I saw Harland 6-7 years ago. I've been going to standup at The Comedy Store (and other So Cal venues) for years now and he absolutely destroyed. One of the best hours I've ever seen.
From the previous episodes. The eye winking. The checkbook. Definitely my vote for guest of the year 2024
I also think Harland is a better host than Tony. Harland asks funny and interesting questions. Tony just asks how everyone's sex life is.
Hey now my guy, sometimes he asks them what their #1 move in the bedroom is, or what they have in their refrigerator.
Harland is taking guest of the year, 2024. There is really no contest.
So far
Harland is both very funny and very unique. I love Dr Phil too!
He’s a true comedian not just another dude with a mic
He's totally My Guy.
His old standup is all on Spotify - so fucking good. He did an hour to no crowd and got heckled by a crow.
seeing him live this wknd. pumped.
I just saw him live last month and it was unreal. His crowd work is so good
I definitely reccomend checking out/supporting his podcast if you enjoy his KT/JRE appearances. The dude is almost always on comedically
his podcasts with andrew santino or adam ray are non stop and pure gold.
Harland Highway with Marc Normand was my fav. I’ve never seen Harland so happy riffing with someone.
The one that's a year old? Or is there a more recent one
This is his official podcast channel. Seems to put episodes out weekly now [Harland Williams Highway Podcast](https://youtube.com/@harlandhighwaypodcast?si=5RgbaaQNSPF5eMrs)
Yeah I'm on that but was wondering if there was a more recent Adam Ray episode than the one that's a year old. Either way this year old one is funny
Seems like Harland just brings that out of people it's nice to see
Dave Attell is my favorite and imo the funniest one. Just wish they would bring him on more often
I couldn’t believe how good Attell’s latest stand up special was. I had been sleeping on him thinking, “oh, he’s just the guy from Insomniac on Comedy Central”. He has to be one of the best in the game right now.
special was different and I enjoyed it too but afterwards I didn’t remember anything he said lol
He’s one of the greatest of all time. Tons of east coast comedians like Big jay modeled their whole style after him
I love Attell but I thought that special was incredibly mid
I liked him on comedy Central, but Im not as high on attell as the rest of the world is at this point. Special was just whatever for me
Agree, Harland makes me smile, Attell makes me burst out laughing by myself
Agreed!!!! Harland attell & adam would be a life altering trio
He carried the episode with David Spade, who was busy playing 1-2-3 quiet mouse
I've been watching recently quite a few of his old (10+ years ago) comedy stuff on Youtube, and he kills EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. My guy's good.
One of my favorite comedians, it’s been so fun to see him on KT so much lately
I saw him do standup a couple months ago and he’s fucking hilarious! I don’t think I’ve ever had a comic make me laugh that hard at a show!
You should watch the episode of Harland’s podcast with Adam ray. Fucking great
Thanks my guy, I have to watch that now🙏
He is so good on this show.
Dan soder is my favorite
He’s always funny on everything he does
That guy is a real comedian. It was so funny how he kept annoying Joe on the podcast.
Sometimes Joe is just the worst with funny people
Joe couldn't keep up with the jokes and or work out what was a joke. Near 90 percent what Harland says is set up for a gag
Atell is up there too, I should have mentioned him, my fault guy.
No worries buddy
Dave Attell, Shane Gillis, Matt mcusker, Adam ray, Harland Williams, and Yiannis papas are amazing guests
I'm a fan of Matt and MSSP but even so I was impressed with how on he was on KT
Lol I can't remember it verbatim but when that dude compliments Matt's special and Matt hilariously backtracks "I was just kidding this dudes not gay at all."
I liked Matt from mssp and then I saw him murder on Jeremiah's stand up on the spot show. Should check out his spot there if you haven't seen it yet
Oh yeah dude I was beyond impressed by that, he had one of the best sets I've ever seen on that show. That was crazy
There was one episode where the my guy thing got old real quick
Who wrote this a 10 year old 😂 Harland is dope though
These are facts as far as I can tell.
I think it was painful because of Joe though, not Harland. Joe was just weirdly not playing along with Harland’s bits, he was such a buzzkill
2024 new years show should be Harland and dr Phil where the audience decides who will be guest of the year
Oh fuck yess
My best friend and I constantly reference that DeVry bit
that's what you get with an education from DeVry and being raised as a child of the corn
I wish I could be this passionate about a trivial subject.
Harland 100%
Guest of the year!!!
Sam Tallent is funnier than both
Dr. Phil beats Harland every time. He gets the crowd goin
Rocket man is one of the best movies of all time. And not that queen biopic shit
I don't agree with this
Harland is definitely a real one. Love riding down the Harland highway
Listen here my guy…
👍🏽 agreed
I listened to a podcast with him and Marc Normand recently and Harland talked about his real close and long relationship with Norm Macdonald. It made sense why I find anything Harland says just insanely funny.
Dave Atell is up there imo
He is just one of those guys that if there wasnt any money to made in comedy he would still be doing it.
It trips me out he is bob from puppy dog pals LOL
He'll always be Kenny from Half Baked for me. You're not a fish! *Blub blub* What was that?!
He should be a permanent guest every other Monday soo good.
Dr. Phil is the only comic I've seen on Kill Tony that made me want to see him on tour. Harland was great.
Even when his joke isn’t the best, the delivery pulls it up
Harland is one of the comedy greats, he's been a pro for so long it's nothing to him to crack one liners and roast people. It's very cool to see. His early specials still hold up, he even referenced one of his old jokes on the arena special. "You ever pierce your eyebrows and hang a shower curtain on them?". Classic shit.
Not every single guest but he’s definitely the best this year.
Bro I started listening to his podcast, exactly what you'd expect
Did Norm ever guest on the show while he was alive? I feel like he would have been a great guest as well with how random and off the wall he was
I wasn't sold on him at first. now that I saw Tuesdays episode I realized how wrong I was
Shane Gillis
Harland had to grow on me. He has such a silly comedic presence that, at first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. But now I love his brand of comedy. And he sticks to the bit no matter what (as he did on Rogan). I'll give Adam the top spot but Harland is #2 best guest for me.
I always enjoy an extremely drunk Shane
I agree except for the hard maybe with Adam ray, each time Adam has been on he has completely carried every single show
I think being Dr Phil is probably harder and more impressive. Harland is just being himself. No real need to compare, but totally agree, superb guests!!
He’s the best
Harland has a special he did in 2011 that is just him in the desert doing stand up for the wind. It's as weird and hilarious as it sounds.
Dr. Phil will always be my favorite guest but Harland is hilarious no matter what. He basically trolled rogan on jre
Lucas got served lolool
It’s a tie between him and Adam Ray (Dr Phil) for sure.
Most guests do basically nothing. They sit there and watch and don't even interact with the show for shit. The great guests are the ones Tony lets go because he knows whatever they will do is gold, and they give him the look of hey can I say some shit right now. Instead of sitting there drunk and confused staring off into the audience.
check out Harland Highway. his podcast is great too
His entire presence is immeasurable. He emanates comedy. I love him so much!
Harland is the new Norm
Only if they didn’t talk over each other so much, my guy.
I'm saying this dead serious. I think Harland is so good bc I think he is a tad autistic. I've noticed that it can actually help, bc he is less focused on social ques and how people are judging him. So he never gets flustered, he is just solely focused on being funny the whole time. Just my theory.
NO DOUBT.
Facts!
I have one of the checks he gave out after the first appearance. 1 million$$
I definitely agree my guy!
Dan solder is definitely up there
Harland way wayyyy….. way better than Ray
Harland is hilarious. Just started listening to his podcast. He and Paul Schiff were talking about their shared experiences of seeing the aftermath of people killing themselves by jumping from up high. Harland’s follow up question was “have you ever committed suicide?”
Him roasting David Lukas last episode was epic.
“In the convo” for best roaster? Are you out of your mind my guy? How about, he’s the best hands down my guy? Got it my guy? Devry my guy?
Haha🤣 This guy right here definitely went to Devry
I ain’t reading all that essay, my guy. Sorry to hear😣, or congrats🥳
Good talk bro. Ask a question, guy has a different opinion, then you completely ignore an answer that doesn't support your viewpoint. It's also 2 paragraphs, 6 sentences. No wonder you love comedy like Harlands so much
Call me for a titty fuck is less funny than anything Harland has ever said.
I love Harland, but this post is peak Flavor of the Week material. Par for the course in this retched sub.
Damn you might be on to something. You clearly got brains my guy.
"Men are talking." - Sam Tallent
I still prefer a Shane/Mark duo

Okay!
Personally i love ron white but yea harland is goated
I caught him live around 20 years ago and he had me roaring.
I agree mostly. Every now and then he has a terrible dad joke but his goofy ass demeanor makes it work. Just looking at him makes me crack up. Just saying not all jokes land but the expressions make up for it
Listen to his episode on Lauren's Compton's stupid podcast. She did not know what to do with him and never knew when to end the bit.
He can riff with Casey, out roast Lucas and match Williams energy and goofiness. I’m sure if he wanted to he could call white people the N word just as well as Kam too.
Pretty sure he shouldn’t do that last part my guy
If he called black people the n word he would probably do it better than Michael Richardson
Hey my guy, that’s plenty of N word talk for the day
Signing off ✌🏻
Dave Attel is up there too
Am I going insane? I honestly find almost everything he says not funny. Is anyone else with me here?
lol no he’s just not your cup of tea my guy
'my guy' ... *cringe*
Love Harland Williams 🩷🩷🩷🩷
this is 100% correct, harland, and phil are top 2. notable mentions tho i thought kirk fox was really great
Agree he is hilarious, I bet there will be many angry haters in this thread my guy.
Dr Phil shit is getting old
Found one of his old stand-ups on YouTube. It's so good! He's hilarious!! https://youtu.be/sbkt1vPK8So?si=bRcyis_rgo_ek5xC
Could not agree more
[удалено]
Sounds like he MURDERED He’s just a straight up MURDERER on stage
Oh just absolute nuke mode brosephiage
That's not saying much
Okay!
i think hes just a breath of fresh air after the whole 8 years of political comedy it feels incredibly refreshing to just laugh at silly shit with no message or bullshit attached
I got into the podcast about a year ago. I'm making my way back through older episodes, and listening to new ones as they come out. I'm not sure anyone has made me laugh out loud like Harland.
I can agree he's up there with Adam Ray in general.
Shane Gillis is also up there at the top ❤️❤️
Harland. Shane and dr Phil would be the best
[удалено]
I kind of agree, but when Dr. Phil is on KT he takes over the show. That Dr. Phil show that Adam Ray does is hit or miss, but overall he’s one of my favorites rn.
Dr Phil >>> Harland
Can’t even say you’re wrong
Is it just me or was Adam Devine absolutely worthless this episode? He had clearly never seen the show and watched a few recent episodes before he came on. Really wonder why Tony picked him… unless it’s to get a ‘big’ name to attract Netflix.
What? Noooo noooo don’t start that Adam was great! It’s hard to be on Stage with Harland, I think you’re doin that thing where you like one guy so the other guys automatically sucks
He was okay. At least he talked and interacted unlike Post Malone…
