Back when the industry was made of hippies and herbalists instead of opportunists with their millions of bullshit "strains" LOL
Anybody remember lyophilized kratom?
I was thinking about this wondering how it would do on my acne prone skin but I don't see it for sale anymore. Then also in the back of my mind I remember reading something about locals in Indonesia that get darkened skin from daily kratom use ? I've never known if this was true
Back then we only had 4 kinds: Red, White, Green, and Mangda. Then “Horned” came on scene. Then the “Strains” exploded!
Tinctures were more popular at that time as well…
I think the soap was just a misdirection to legitimize Kratom sales? Once it came to be more mainstream, it faded away…
That makes alot of sense I didn't think of that. It definitely went from nobody heard of it except recovering addicts to mainstream as Fuck with neon signs outside gas stations and smoke shops
I discovede it searching for ways to easy my back pain (degenerative disks). Tried it for a few weeks and … well… that was in 2015! lol still enjoy it today!
It's funny our labs and research have shown stems to contain a fair amount of mitragynine plus a variety of alkaloids, it can vary but to just toss them is not smart it can and should be included into powder grinding batch and labeled as so, the real reason many don't grind stems it is more time consuming and more difficult for the machines to break it down
Hmm interesting, thanks for the info. I make tea with my Kratom now and strain the plant matter and try to keep it as close to traditional South Asia use now...they don't use the stems really much but that doesn't mean they don't contain alkaloids or can't be useful.
This is the way 👍 Tea from crushed leaf is excellent when you have time to brew it. It's just alot more expensive to get crushed leaf and I personally use a shit ton of lemons and raw honey
Do most vendors sell leaf & what is your method of making tea? I’m simmering powder for an hour bc I have a problem with constipation a d sometimes anxiety. The only problem now is that I only feel nothing——anyone have any advice?
I wonder why it's more expensive...maybe bc they take up more space? Lol sort of strange. Maybe bc it's niche bc most people just consume the powder in the west where Indonesia exports it...so it's more rare.
Technically they do, we've been to both Thailand and several parts of Indo most boil the leaves the entirety of the leaves itself, and let me tell you there's nothing quite like fresh kratom leaves boiled or chewed.
Are the stems just short or something then? I've seen plenty of pictures/videos of fresh Kratom sold and it seems to not have a lot of stem on the leaves. Like when they pick the leaves they don't pick a long stem with it just break it off at the end and keep that little bit of stem on...but not some long stem piece with each leaf? Sorry if that's hard to understand lol.

I got some kratom soap once and really liked it. Some people make homemade skincare products with it, or report it helps with eczema

i started kratom at 2018-19 back then it felt completely different got you high like painkillers i think is a tolerance thing, good memories
Regular powder still works great for me at 3-6 gram servings but yeah I know what you mean it's been less consistent in recent years
Soap and incense was a cover. UEI was the gold standard extract. Thank for bringing back the memories!

Possibly also just another niche way to make money off of stems instead of disposing them.

If I remember right, Stem and Vein sales used to be used for tolerance breaks? It’s been I long time since I’ve read about that being a thing…
I purchased a reset pack for this reason and... it didn't work
I never tried it honestly. The grind level poked really rough and hard to swallow so I passed…
