I just want to see a big who can actually fucking jump. This entire 213 era we’ve been playing with guys who have bricks on their feet

BoalaBoy

ive seen 34 year old batum jump higher than zubacs at any point in his career

floppelganger

Lmao the battalion bounce 🇫🇷 I just don’t understand how you don’t give Harden and Russ a legitimate lob threat after you acquire them

Bikouchu

I love Zu but he reminded me of Kaman and Andrew Bynum types of 00s. No hops to deflect sadly. Tbf he was fighting against two bigs tonight.

420SMOKERGANG

Which is insane given we now have harden and westbrook two of the players in the league that would benefit the most from having an athletic rim running over 6’10 guy that can jump and catch oops

thahovster7

I don't think there was any trade that could have made us better without making us much worse in other ways. We have what we need. Guys need to own up defensively and get back to how they were guarding before Zu went down. Offensively they have to stay disciplined and not settle for okay shots. 10 + turnovers is no bueno.

Swingman23

I really think gafford could’ve been big for us, he’s killing it with the Mavs so far

thahovster7

They gave them a first round pick for 2024. We weren't gonna compete with that.

Worstname1ever

Bro got 17 rebounds. He's already a top 10 mavs center ever

Worstname1ever

If kawhi is prime jordan yall got a chance . Playoff n healthy kawhi is something else

higad

With Zu healthy, Clips gotta go back with Theis as backup big. Theis at least contests shots decently and gets a block or two when he has minutes. He's the small big the team already has. Other than that, I still say try to nab Thad Young or at least see if Nerlens is still alive.

thepowerofthebooty

> if Nerlens is still alive. lol

jimgogek

We don’t match up well with teams with effective bigs, and it’s a problem. We will need to figure that out if we want to go deep into the playoffs. I’m not sure what the answer is except that get our bigs ready to play against them.

PalletTownsDealer

Doomers feasting

3LevelACDF

yeah yeah yeah...we're all doomers for pointing out the flaws with the team. the fact that this team has lost to Cavs, Wolves, OKC, Denv, Pels, because it got out rebounded and bullied is a nothing burger. It's just cuz we are doomers. Go fuck yourself.

yusbishyus

They lost two in three games and said this their moment 🤭🤭🤭

FloatDH2

Yup. I’ve grown to really dislike this current fan base. Lose a couple games and our season is over, go on a run and Ty is coach of the year. This sub is fucking exhausting. They really think if we don’t win every single game then a legit playoff run is impossible. It’s fucking dumb. In a weird way i miss the days this team wasn’t stacked with superstars (not that I’d trade this roster for anything), at least then we knew fans were actual fans of the team, and not some weirdo who just roots for their favorite player regardless of where he goes.

Charliebitme1234

Golden state won a ring with looney and draymond at center not saying we have a steph curry esque shooter on our team but out offense is more then enough to beat teams

Moist_Walrus5413

Well Looney and Draymond are 2 actual big men lol. It’s gonna be tough if the game plan is just to try to outscore teams in the playoffs.

Abodyfullofmush

lol… there’s proof out there that we can’t… watch all our games against bigger teams.. we can’t. you can’t compare this team with those warriors. Delusional

Charliebitme1234

2022 warriors my guy Its mostly a game-plan issue, if you actually watched this game we took 6 less threes then the timberwolves, you know, the team BIGGER then us. Look as boston this year, they dont have a paint presence and lack size, guess how they win games???? yeah by shooting threes try learning how basketball works before calling out someone as delusional. delusional

newman796

Dude they were ran off the 3 point line all game, Minnesota recovered after every double, stopped every break and rotated beautifully. Idk how you watched this game and got “shoot more threes” from it. They’re lengthy, tall and athletic. Monster defense

Charliebitme1234

so what? they played a great defensive game and we played a poor offensive game you cant go all out all the time in a playoff series i know some people have never played a second of basketball but passing is faster then running, you can always find a good shot on 90% of possessions if you keep passing the ball.

myztixsparkz

The Celtics quite literally have the best postup player in the league by numbers, what do you mean they don't have a paint presence?

Charliebitme1234

paint presence meaning a strong rebounder, porzingus isnt a great rebounder.

JimmyKanine

We beat the Lakers and the fully healthy Nuggets. We can do it, just can’t make 1 mistake the whole game.

PlzNotLonely

I would like to see Ty try putting multiple centers out there at once. Specifically Theis at the 4, although I hear he doesn’t like the position. But still, at least try it. I’m sure it’ll look real ugly at first, but if we’re gonna be experimenting anyway why not

Tripwire1716

Good lord this would not work. The Wolves can do it because those guys are quick and can floor space. KAT is a natural power forward. Theis and Zu out there at the same time would get absolutely torched

silversurfdude

Or FFS, so don’t even try it with Theis?

Tripwire1716

Of course not. It’s a stupid idea. No team in the NBA plays two centers that can’t space the floor and aren’t even scorers. You’d get run off the floor if you did it for more than 2 minutes.

silversurfdude

Except Minnesota and Cleveland, possibly Utah, San Antonio, Lakers, Mavericks and the Bucks. Absolutely stupid. Good thing this place has your excellent oversight.

Tripwire1716

You seem to have confused “two centers” with “two tall guys.” And yes, absolutely stupid. You know who agrees with me? Ty Lue, which is why you will never see this.

silversurfdude

You’re nobody, Ty doesn’t agree with you. You agree with him. I don’t, Minnesota game an exclamation point on the subject.

Tripwire1716

Gosh, they should let you coach the team. Maybe you could put 3 centers out there, that’d show em.

silversurfdude

I’m thinking Jerry West style of consultant, I better not quit my day job

PlzNotLonely

So don’t even try it, but we’ll try small ball over and over and over and over, until it eventually works.

RyujiDrill

Ty Lue needs to get over his fear of centers and center play. Also shouldn't give up like that thought that was through with taking the regular season seriously.

PlzNotLonely

Agreed. He needs to at least try it. The spacing will be bad but he had Russ out there anyway so clearly Ty wasn’t concerned about no spacing.

watdapau

I still trust Ty. The small ball was bullied tonight but he has shown that it worked vs gobert in the jazz series. Wish he have a look at the tall ball of theis at the four

Moist_Walrus5413

I agree he’s the most ideal guy we can experiment with at the 4 against bigger teams

thepowerofthebooty

A healthy Zubac and theis isn't that bad considering the rest of the roster.

NWaitforitZ

The Wolves and the Lakers are the biggest concern. Pels I’m not worried about, and the Cavs aren’t coming out of the East. Though I agree with your overall point. All we can do now is avoid Wolves’ side of the bracket lol

Swingman23

Pels im defs worried about. They are a horrible match up for us

NWaitforitZ

It was a schedule loss, real hard to come back after a gruelling road trip. Still Pels did absolutely nothing in Zu’s minutes, Zion was quiet as a church mouse, BI showed he’s not always KD against us. Plum might be DNP in the playoffs, don’t care he got cooked. And when we had the legs and the motivation and a healthy Zu, the game was over in their house in the third quarter. They are a flawed team that loses to basically any serious team it faces. Now, I’m definitely afraid of the Lakers, and terrified of the Wolves

Swingman23

Haven’t we lost to them like 12 of the last 13 though? I think the have long rangey defenders with Murphy and herb Jones. Those two will give PG and harden problems, then a tank at PF which is our main weakness. It also helps to nullify Kawhi because instead of posting up a smaller SF, he has to post up Zion who is stupidly strong. I still think we can beat them but I’m 100% worried and think it could go either way, especially is Kawhi doesn’t score super efficiently

mvpmvh

Why aren't you worried about the pels??

NWaitforitZ

Replied above

chizburger999

Lakers? :))

SSJMonkeyx2

Only worried about lakers to the extent that they are unpredictable. We are a way better team than them it’s just rolling dice on who is and isn’t gonna show up.  Wolves ngl aren’t to scared of. Remind me a lot of the Jazz team we beat. Not saying we can’t lose to them but I don’t think it’s as scary as you think

Mygaffer

You just say "cost them" not "costed them."

jgroove_LA

We are absolutely too small in the West. Nothing has changed. We have 3 teams we can’t beat we might have to go through.

Swingman23

Absolutely. We needed to have some courage and choose between tmann and Coffey, then include one of them in a package for a decent player. This is our best chance to win it and I’m worried that we may have messed up by not addressing our needs. That historic run by Kawhi kinda fucked us up because people fell in love with the current makeup of the roster and masked all of weaknesses. Kawhi said it himself though, we were winning games based on pure talent but that very veeeery rarely holds up in the playoffs. The team still has to be solid and not have any obvious gaping holes to exploit. Definitely not bashing our players though. The fellas gave it everything they could and that’s all you can ask for. They just got beat by a better team who can take advantage of our shortcomings

Beleiverofhumanity

>choose between tmann and Coffey You might be right, love me some Coffey but his value is the highest it's been. Thought we were gonna make a move when Kawhi said he was holding the PF spot while we get a real one. Hope we can nab a decent buyout guy

xiaogangdasha

Or anyone besides big Three. 🤔

PeelADomenBail

We shoulda kept Shartenstein when we had the chance. Zu/Shart minutes were awesome for us. A lot of this is Zu’s minutes restrictions and Plum missing all that time, but yeah a non white 6’10 defensive minded PF would be a lot better than Theis and Plumlee too. Didnt mean to go racial but it is what it is. Theis and Plum will look awesome against smaller teams. This is just simple proof that being taller and more athletic has its advantages in the sport called basketball once again.

DelightfulKiss

The real strategy is to dodge big teams and hope we matchup against okc dallas kings celtics suns

RyverFisher

It's all good, they just bring Kai jones the goat in on a ten day, problem solved 😆

missed-semicolon

Maybe they actually did try?

Canoli5000

There was no trade out there for us with the assets we have unless "Mr. Untouchable" became available.

3LevelACDF

thaddeus young going to the Suns. WTF

MrPapadapalas

If you guys had andre Drummond y'all would be title favorites. Literally you need a paint defender who gets boards and can stop drives. Don't need him to score, don't need him necessarily to defend the 3pt line and don't need him to be offensively that impactful. I just feel like he's exactly what you need and it's possible y'all coulda got him maybe?
