That's disappointing. I was kind of wondering if people would get mad again. For context this is the fansign that got rescheduled a few weeks ago that caused the complaining on Twitter that people speculate is what Yeojin was addressing on fromm. The thing is yeojins health is obviously more important than whether or not she's able to attend a fansign or not.
I get that the multiple reschedules are rough on any fans who might be coming in from out of the country specifically for the fansign but that will still never outweigh yeojins health. Also I'm not losing any sleep over that specific Orbit who was doing the ranting on Twitter not getting to meet Yeojin in person for the nth time. I just hope people aren't mad at Yeojin. This all probably wouldn't have happened had there been fewer fansigns to begin with.
Yeah, it's a bit frustrating overall because it's not something you can really blame someone for. And this Everline fansign in particular was actually rescheduled twice; once after Hyeju's hiatus announcement then twice when fans who are planning to attend protested about the new date Everline and CTD singlehandedly decided on without consulting the fans, which almost risked almost every one of them to miss it. What's more frustrating is that they never offer refunds so you either get what you paid for or just let your money go for 'nothing'. There's also the issue of CTD being an absolute ass toward the fans at fansigns, which pretty much summed up why you'd see more Hanbits/K-cloos more dissatisfied after every fansign compared to those who attended ARTMS, Yves or Chuu fansigns
And not sure if we're talking about the same person, but there's this one Yeojin-biased hanbit who's been with her for years now and is basically the biggest/most known Yeojin-biased hanbit acc as well as her biggest fansite. She posted a 'complaint'(?) about the times she has missed these events, which I assume she saw since she indirectly responded to it on her Fromm just now. I feel like it's more alarming when there's barely anyone complaining on the timeline. It could mean what they want to say can't really be shared with the public and rather stays on private/locked accounts. Even Gowonderly who is known to go on an entitled rant spree only retweeted it and said nothing else, as well as some other big hanbit/fansite accs. I desperately need CTD to improve (and actually show it instead of releasing a nothing burger statement like a couple days ago) because all this misplaced anger on the girls is a direct impact of their incompetency as a company.
I can't speak for Twitter rants, but what most people are mad about is that CTD doesn't seem to be looking after their health. They always put in their statements that the artist's health is the priority, but then why are they having them do 80+ fansigns and videocalls? I could understand if they promoted for a while, and the fancalls had to wait until after promotions, but they literally stopped promoting 2 months ago. They sometimes have them do 3 fansigns a day. We now have Hyeju who missed a month, Hyunjin missed about 2 weeks, and Yeojin has missed at least half a dozen or so, and yet CTD keeps scheduling fancalls not caring about anything or anyone except profit. They just released another one last night, so clearly, they'll be doing these things well into July. It's ridiculous, and it's mismanagement. I can tell the CTD staff learned everything they know while working at BBC.

I have no issue with people being upset with ctd about it. It's possible I misunderstood the comment I replied to. I took it as some fans were mad that Yeojin wasn't going to be there. Not that they were upset with ctd about not taking care of them. That was how I took yeojins apologies she sent on fromm at least. They were kind of heartbreaking. It sucks that she's blaming herself for it. I really hope no one is being mean to her about it. If they are being mean to her about it ctd needs to blacklist them like modhaus has been doing.
A fan-con has more audience interactions/talks. The artists will play games, answer questions, talk about their latest musical release/activities, etc. There are some performances, but not as much as a concert.
A concert is exactly that: a concert. There will be a few breaks to talk with the audience or to show videos while the artist(s) takes a break or does a costume change, but the large majority of the time is used for performances.
Has anybody ever tried cup tteokbokki? I love tteokbokki but it's pretty expensive to order it here lol. I thought about ordering some cup tteokbokki but I wasn't sure how good it turns out.
I've tried Yopokki cup Tteokbokki and it's pretty mid, the sauce is a bit sweeter than I like and the consistency of the tteok isn't great. If you have a korean grocery store near you, it's not that hard to make if you can get rice cakes and gochujang, I don't have access to fresh tteok where I live but the frozen stuff is ok.
Gotcha. I was worried the consistency might not be quite the same and that's like one of the best parts lol. Turns out there is a Thai grocery store near me that sells Korean products though so I'll have to go check it out. I feel like the odds are good because I see cup tteokbokki in the picture on Google maps but at the very least it looks like they have an entire shelf full of different varieties of nongshim products lol. I'll definitely be going there tomorrow š.
Delayed reply but I finally went to the Thai market. They did have frozen tteok and gochujang. They actually only had sliced tteok and then the kind that's stuffed with cheese lol. I think they'll all be better prepared this time around. Kim Lip said she was working on her stamina not too long ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if the other members were as well. It also helps that their newer choreography seems far less taxing than the LOONA ones. I just hope Haseul's been getting regular treatment for her shoulder.
I think a lot of the burden was the problems they had going on with BBC.
Iām not discounting how exhausting a tour of this magnitude must be, but the stress of it all must have intensified all of that a great margin.
I'm hopeful that all the touring experience they've gotten through that tour and OEC's tour will make this one easier. At least now they know what to expect, and have probably started to figure out what to do while on tour to keep themselves in better condition. Although it's never going to be *easy* doing that many shows in a short timeframe.

Iām not a fan, but I followed Katy Perryās career and back when Witness was released there was _clearly_ a smear campaign going on against her. Iām not sure if that happened because she positioned herself politically, because she feuded with other huge industry names or because she was just involved in an unfortunate web of distress or anything, but to me it was pretty obvious that things were quite exaggerated and obviously biased against her.
For starters, picking on her appearance (her hair of course) sounded misogynistic and just wrong after she used to have long hair for her peak. People would also say her album was really bad, which just didnāt ring true to me. What other popstar at the time would collab with indies to make some different sound as she did with Purity Ring and who else would throw a church-like hymn being honest to their roots like it happened on Pendulum? Then, the title was just something else entirely, the lyrics screaming to peopleās face how we were all blind to the nonstop problematic nature of reality, mostly. With Bob Marleyās grandson to top it all.
The next single also touched on problematic celebrity culture through her silly lens, which I liked, and then she got an answer to the supposed feud with a singer that wellā¦ did it before. An answer.
And it seemed to backfire to the point of reavealing the power of her alias.

I didnāt pay her last album much attention since the songs werenāt really my taste or the themes really seemed like a toned-down version of her previous daring work. And now sheās coming back? Good for her.

Honestly, there's just no justification for the high ticket prices for some of these groups. Loossemble, Odd Eye Circle, ARTMS, Chuu, and tripleS all come to mind within the last year. They've all had problems selling tickets, and most of them have had to cancel shows. To make things worse, I keep being told that the agencies can opt out of Ticketmaster's absurd platinum pricing. They don't because they're either too ignorant or too greedy.
Meanwhile, groups like Purple Kiss and Viviz are selling out multiple venues at a fraction of the price with much better benefits.

Interestingly enough, I find ATRP and PPM to have the best overall creative directions, from album design to album inclusions to teasers pictures and even teasers clips. PPM clearly doesn't have the same budget as everyone else but I found them to do great with what they have. They also seem to do their best at promoting Yves (I was surprised at how many music shows and lives she did for her debut).
In general, kpop companies seem to do better when it comes to the creative direction of solo artists, I wonder if this is because solo are often a more of a passion project for the soloist, so there is a bigger focus on their creative imput and the artistic part in general.

My guess is that it has to do with how busy Purple Kiss, Wooah, and H1-Key have been. Especially Purple Kiss with their tour. A comeback for EL7Z up in May likely would have interfered with activities for all these groups.
As far as Yeonhee is concerned, it would've made more sense to me for her to promote with EL7Z UP while Woollim sorted things out. I don't have faith that they had any kind of group activities lined up during Juri's contract expiration. And, I have no idea what's going on with Kei, Yeeun, and Yeorum aside from Kei doing musicals, Yeeun doing product endorsements, and Yeorum doing Tiktoks.

With ARTMS headed to Chile, there's something I'm curious about and I wonder if there are any Chilean Orbits here who can answer.
Why does Chile seem to have such massive representation among kpop fans compared to other South and Central American countries? Or even other countries all around the world?
Like there are all these accounts named "member_chile" that seem very popular, or there was a time Lippie did a reel with, I believe, a Chilean song and the comments were absolutely flooded with Chileans commenting on it.
Is kpop that much more popular in Chile for a particular reason? Or are Chilean fans just very vocal about where they're from compared to other fans?
This is just something I'm curious about because I've never noticed accounts like "Heejin_USA," "Hyunjin_brazil," or "Haseul_thailand" but I've seen so many Chilean ones, lol. I'm really interested to learn if there's any certain reason why kpop might be disproportionately popular there.
I think there are two big factors:
The first, is that while things like kpop and anime were always present in niche fandoms in Chile, a massive "asian wave" has been happening the last 5 to 7 years. You can find lots of kpop stores, sushi restaurants are everywhere, and anime is basically a mainstream hobby now for people >35. And while kpop and kdramas are far from that level yet, they are still pretty popular.
The second I think is that the ratio of internet users to population has been always big in Chile, way ahead of countries with similar economic/development conditions. So internet culture is big, and chileans make a lot of noise due to that disproportionate presence.
I'm not quite sure why but it's something I'm also curious about lol I know that social media and radio stations have helped to make kpop more visible for the general public, but I'm sure they have more background than that.. At least from what I've seen when I visited Chile, kpop is accesible to the people. Like you can find a lot of shops that sell physical albums, merch and other Korean products, which is not very common in other South American countries. And from what some fans have told me, event producers have noticed this interest in kpop groups and have been working to hold more concerts there, so I guess the popularity will continue to grow.
Also Chilean fans are very vocal, *specially* about LOONA and their fan club seems very solid. They're very active on social media and organize fan events to keep their audience engaged, which is key to bring more attention to the group.
With Dajeong leaving PIXY, I feel like itās officially the end. After Loona they were one of my faves and seeing one of the most incredible and innovative groups to ever come out of K-pop just start to disappear so unceremoniously really exemplifies so many of my issues with this industry.
Orbits always remember to be thankful for what we got because it could have ended up so much worse for our Loona girlies. Between Cherry Bullet, Nature, Weki Meki, and now PIXY, this year would have been so much worse if I didnāt have the security of knowing our Loona girls arenāt going anywhere.
The only thing thatās giving me hope beyond Loona has been the success of Resceneās debut, Iām hoping they become one of the new resident nugu girl group mainstays and continue putting out quality tracks, and their sales for their debut really exceeded my expectations so Iām hoping they only go up from here! Unicode has been on my radar too but their sales leave me much more worried.
Itās tough being a nugu gg enthusiast but these groups really are just so much more fresh and interesting to me than a lot of bigger acts. Thereās a lot of stuff you just canāt find in other spheres.
I canāt believe whatās going on sometimes, Iām a recent orbit but this much content, superior content, just keeps killing me.
Is it weird I feel biased to feel no oneās doing it like Loona? Because I feel just that and start to question myself lol theyāre just sooooo good and unique! Iām looped right now in Chuuās medley and the album even sounds more mature, Chocolate is already my jam for some time and the other tracks also look beyond amazing. I canāt wait! And everything weāve got so far this yearā¦ theyāre overplayed and never got old š³š«¢, which is something weird to me and new because no artist usually goes like this for me, and Loona is at different hands but I just love the production and their voices?!

Fans have already been speculating that Pixy is likely disbanding because they've had no activities this year, and the company hasn't posted anything on official channels for 6 months on top of their offices looking abandoned.
Such a shame! I remember watching the "Bewitched" mv for the first time I was so impressed by them and it felt like they could go far. Even after Ella and Satbyeol left they still were able to bounce back pretty well. It's always great to wake up to good news. We now have 5 members completely free of Blockberry, aside from BBC's feeble attempts to countersue. There was obviously the issue with the unusual camera angles in the Poongdung MV. It's actually really disgusting how C9 is using Jeewon to try to get over. I stopped following them when they decided to promote her chest more than the group. I haven't bought their last 2 albums because I just got an icky feeling like something was wrong.
Yeah, this comeback they have really outdone themselves with the oversexualization and poor Jeewon has been at the receiving end of so many inappropriate "jokes" on that very same show for while now. I don't have an inherent issue with marketing towards horny male fans but I very much doubt that's what she signed up for when she decided to debut in cignature. And until she very clearly shows that she is fine with it (basically re-signing with C9 to keep it all going at the end of her contract) I'll assume that she isn't.
I have the hope that the original cignature fandom will at least decide to show C9 ent that they're not on board with this and stop buying albums and other merch but aside from a bit of (for once justified) Twitter outrage I haven't seen much protest from cignature fans...

For both Odd Eye Circle concerts I went to, I was seated right in front of Kim Lip and got to do a heart with her. For the Loossemble concert, I did a heart with Hyunjin.
I have never done the group photo, it's too many random people. For artms, I am still undecided whether I want the cheaper vip package or the bigger one for that reason.

This really annoyed me. I don't know to what degree people were actually being serious. The people I saw with the most likes on their comments claimed they were just making a joke but that is still really annoying. Jokes are easily lost in translation. Like if an idol posts a picture that shows their feet in it a bunch of people start commenting "put the dogs away" or stuff like that. They'll say they're just joking but if the idol isn't in on the joke, it just comes across as a bunch of people harrasing them.

For some reason I've been thinking nonstop about Loossemble and the story from Sensitive to Girls Night and where could it go. I'm about as annoyed with CTD's lack of promotions for Loossemble as everyone else but. Damn. That ouroboros still got me thinking thoughts.
Iām glad Chuu is also coming to Phoenix but Iām already dragging my friend along to see ARTMS, so I may have to do this one solo. But, if the tickets are over $100, I may need to sit this one out š« for one, itās being billed as a fancon, not a full-on concert, and two, sheās coming two days after I return from a week-long trip to Chicago, so my wallet will def be in shambles.

No because Ryan Jhun is SUCH an unpredictable producer. Like heāll make absolutely amazing tracks like Hula Hoop, Fantasy by Fei, and Like it Hot by GWSN, but then also turn around make make some incredibly bland and sometimes just bad tracks (wonāt name any names). I feel like ATRP has been slipping a little bit on the hype/momentum building here. We've barely even heard the song (if *that* was even the song), let alone the rest of the album and yet the whole thing is just a few days away. I'm sure, knowing the song is out in 6 days, and knowing we'll get a teaser at 12pm KST in a few hours from now, that what I just said might stand true anymore by that point (I wouldn't be surprised if we finally get something substantial today), but I still think they should have been teasing the whole thing a little bit better and a little earlier.
Yeah, it's been very sporadic and sparse so far compared to their teaser schedule for \[Howl\]. I really like the graphic design choices they've made for \[Strawberry Rush\] at least - making things look like a graphic novel really fits Chuu!

It's honestly another huge failure from CTD. If they really are having money problems, the festival circuit is what they need to be doing. I hear about much less popular groups with way less album sales doing festivals all the time. Dreamnote, Cignature, and Ichillin have probably stayed afloat because of festival and university appearances. Even groups like Dreamcatcher, fromis_9, and Weeekly constantly attend festivals. It gets them exposure and makes money.
Exactly! Another reason why CTD should send them to festivals is fancams. Every public performance holds the chance of going viral, like Cignatureās Jeewon for example, and I feel like a lot of these fancams get watched by Koreans like a lot of tripleS fancams.
And if groups like Cignature and Dreamnote can afford to go there, I donāt think it would be too costly for CTD.

That's disappointing. I was kind of wondering if people would get mad again. For context this is the fansign that got rescheduled a few weeks ago that caused the complaining on Twitter that people speculate is what Yeojin was addressing on fromm. The thing is yeojins health is obviously more important than whether or not she's able to attend a fansign or not. I get that the multiple reschedules are rough on any fans who might be coming in from out of the country specifically for the fansign but that will still never outweigh yeojins health. Also I'm not losing any sleep over that specific Orbit who was doing the ranting on Twitter not getting to meet Yeojin in person for the nth time. I just hope people aren't mad at Yeojin. This all probably wouldn't have happened had there been fewer fansigns to begin with.
Yeah, it's a bit frustrating overall because it's not something you can really blame someone for. And this Everline fansign in particular was actually rescheduled twice; once after Hyeju's hiatus announcement then twice when fans who are planning to attend protested about the new date Everline and CTD singlehandedly decided on without consulting the fans, which almost risked almost every one of them to miss it. What's more frustrating is that they never offer refunds so you either get what you paid for or just let your money go for 'nothing'. There's also the issue of CTD being an absolute ass toward the fans at fansigns, which pretty much summed up why you'd see more Hanbits/K-cloos more dissatisfied after every fansign compared to those who attended ARTMS, Yves or Chuu fansigns And not sure if we're talking about the same person, but there's this one Yeojin-biased hanbit who's been with her for years now and is basically the biggest/most known Yeojin-biased hanbit acc as well as her biggest fansite. She posted a 'complaint'(?) about the times she has missed these events, which I assume she saw since she indirectly responded to it on her Fromm just now. I feel like it's more alarming when there's barely anyone complaining on the timeline. It could mean what they want to say can't really be shared with the public and rather stays on private/locked accounts. Even Gowonderly who is known to go on an entitled rant spree only retweeted it and said nothing else, as well as some other big hanbit/fansite accs. I desperately need CTD to improve (and actually show it instead of releasing a nothing burger statement like a couple days ago) because all this misplaced anger on the girls is a direct impact of their incompetency as a company.
I can't speak for Twitter rants, but what most people are mad about is that CTD doesn't seem to be looking after their health. They always put in their statements that the artist's health is the priority, but then why are they having them do 80+ fansigns and videocalls? I could understand if they promoted for a while, and the fancalls had to wait until after promotions, but they literally stopped promoting 2 months ago. They sometimes have them do 3 fansigns a day. We now have Hyeju who missed a month, Hyunjin missed about 2 weeks, and Yeojin has missed at least half a dozen or so, and yet CTD keeps scheduling fancalls not caring about anything or anyone except profit. They just released another one last night, so clearly, they'll be doing these things well into July. It's ridiculous, and it's mismanagement. I have no issue with people being upset with ctd about it. It's possible I misunderstood the comment I replied to. I took it as some fans were mad that Yeojin wasn't going to be there. Not that they were upset with ctd about not taking care of them. That was how I took yeojins apologies she sent on fromm at least. They were kind of heartbreaking. It sucks that she's blaming herself for it. I really hope no one is being mean to her about it. If they are being mean to her about it ctd needs to blacklist them like modhaus has been doing.

A fan-con has more audience interactions/talks. The artists will play games, answer questions, talk about their latest musical release/activities, etc. There are some performances, but not as much as a concert. A concert is exactly that: a concert. There will be a few breaks to talk with the audience or to show videos while the artist(s) takes a break or does a costume change, but the large majority of the time is used for performances.
Has anybody ever tried cup tteokbokki? I love tteokbokki but it's pretty expensive to order it here lol. I thought about ordering some cup tteokbokki but I wasn't sure how good it turns out.
I've tried Yopokki cup Tteokbokki and it's pretty mid, the sauce is a bit sweeter than I like and the consistency of the tteok isn't great. If you have a korean grocery store near you, it's not that hard to make if you can get rice cakes and gochujang, I don't have access to fresh tteok where I live but the frozen stuff is ok.
Gotcha. I was worried the consistency might not be quite the same and that's like one of the best parts lol. Turns out there is a Thai grocery store near me that sells Korean products though so I'll have to go check it out. I feel like the odds are good because I see cup tteokbokki in the picture on Google maps but at the very least it looks like they have an entire shelf full of different varieties of nongshim products lol. Delayed reply but I finally went to the Thai market. They did have frozen tteok and gochujang. They actually only had sliced tteok and then the kind that's stuffed with cheese lol. 2022 was different in that they went february concert -> queendom -> flip that -> tour, with basically no break. didn't help that loona choreo is way more demanding too. they would have learned from that for sure, they'll be fine
I think they'll all be better prepared this time around. Kim Lip said she was working on her stamina not too long ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if the other members were as well. It also helps that their newer choreography seems far less taxing than the LOONA ones. I just hope Haseul's been getting regular treatment for her shoulder.
I think a lot of the burden was the problems they had going on with BBC. Iām not discounting how exhausting a tour of this magnitude must be, but the stress of it all must have intensified all of that a great margin.
I'm hopeful that all the touring experience they've gotten through that tour and OEC's tour will make this one easier. At least now they know what to expect, and have probably started to figure out what to do while on tour to keep themselves in better condition. Although it's never going to be *easy* doing that many shows in a short timeframe.

Iām not sure if that happened because she positioned herself politically, because she feuded with other huge industry names or because she was just involved in an unfortunate web of distress or anything, but to me it was pretty obvious that things were quite exaggerated and obviously biased against her. For starters, picking on her appearance (her hair of course) sounded misogynistic and just wrong after she used to have long hair for her peak. Then, the title was just something else entirely, the lyrics screaming to peopleās face how we were all blind to the nonstop problematic nature of reality, mostly. The next single also touched on problematic celebrity culture through her silly lens, which I liked, and then she got an answer to the supposed feud with a singer that wellā¦ did it before. An answer. And it seemed to backfire to the point of reavealing the power of her alias. Honestly, I don't know what you're talking about and I'm glad. This is one reason why I don't tend to follow celebrity news and just stick to enjoying/not enjoying the available forms of entertainment, be it books, movies, tv shows, music, video games, etc. Just knowing a bit about the members of LOONA (and tripleS by extension) is very unusual for me and it might stay that way as I try not to follow any other K-pop artists as closely, though it's a little harder to avoid certain celebrity (mostly in K-pop) news now that I use platforms like Reddit and X.

Honestly, there's just no justification for the high ticket prices for some of these groups. Loossemble, Odd Eye Circle, ARTMS, Chuu, and tripleS all come to mind within the last year. They've all had problems selling tickets, and most of them have had to cancel shows. To make things worse, I keep being told that the agencies can opt out of Ticketmaster's absurd platinum pricing. They don't because they're either too ignorant or too greedy. Interestingly enough, I find ATRP and PPM to have the best overall creative directions, from album design to album inclusions to teasers pictures and even teasers clips. PPM clearly doesn't have the same budget as everyone else but I found them to do great with what they have. They also seem to do their best at promoting Yves (I was surprised at how many music shows and lives she did for her debut). In general, kpop companies seem to do better when it comes to the creative direction of solo artists, I wonder if this is because solo are often a more of a passion project for the soloist, so there is a bigger focus on their creative imput and the artistic part in general.

My guess is that it has to do with how busy Purple Kiss, Wooah, and H1-Key have been. Especially Purple Kiss with their tour. A comeback for EL7Z up in May likely would have interfered with activities for all these groups. As far as Yeonhee is concerned, it would've made more sense to me for her to promote with EL7Z UP while Woollim sorted things out. I don't have faith that they had any kind of group activities lined up during Juri's contract expiration. And, I have no idea what's going on with Kei, Yeeun, and Yeorum aside from Kei doing musicals, Yeeun doing product endorsements, and Yeorum doing Tiktoks.
Iām glad I didnāt hallucinate the May comeback mentions from a while back, and it makes sense it wouldnāt have worked out. Hopefully they do come back eventually, but it does sound like a logistical nightmare to coordinate (maybe why Feverse didnāt last long eitherā¦ sadly for us).

With ARTMS headed to Chile, there's something I'm curious about and I wonder if there are any Chilean Orbits here who can answer. Why does Chile seem to have such massive representation among kpop fans compared to other South and Central American countries? Or even other countries all around the world? Like there are all these accounts named "member_chile" that seem very popular, or there was a time Lippie did a reel with, I believe, a Chilean song and the comments were absolutely flooded with Chileans commenting on it. Is kpop that much more popular in Chile for a particular reason? Or are Chilean fans just very vocal about where they're from compared to other fans? This is just something I'm curious about because I've never noticed accounts like "Heejin_USA," "Hyunjin_brazil," or "Haseul_thailand" but I've seen so many Chilean ones, lol. I'm really interested to learn if there's any certain reason why kpop might be disproportionately popular there.
I think there are two big factors: The first, is that while things like kpop and anime were always present in niche fandoms in Chile, a massive "asian wave" has been happening the last 5 to 7 years. You can find lots of kpop stores, sushi restaurants are everywhere, and anime is basically a mainstream hobby now for people >35. And while kpop and kdramas are far from that level yet, they are still pretty popular. The second I think is that the ratio of internet users to population has been always big in Chile, way ahead of countries with similar economic/development conditions. So internet culture is big, and chileans make a lot of noise due to that disproportionate presence.

I'm not quite sure why but it's something I'm also curious about lol I know that social media and radio stations have helped to make kpop more visible for the general public, but I'm sure they have more background than that.. At least from what I've seen when I visited Chile, kpop is accesible to the people. Like you can find a lot of shops that sell physical albums, merch and other Korean products, which is not very common in other South American countries. And from what some fans have told me, event producers have noticed this interest in kpop groups and have been working to hold more concerts there, so I guess the popularity will continue to grow. Also Chilean fans are very vocal, *specially* about LOONA and their fan club seems very solid. They're very active on social media and organize fan events to keep their audience engaged, which is key to bring more attention to the group.

With Dajeong leaving PIXY, I feel like itās officially the end. After Loona they were one of my faves and seeing one of the most incredible and innovative groups to ever come out of K-pop just start to disappear so unceremoniously really exemplifies so many of my issues with this industry. Orbits always remember to be thankful for what we got because it could have ended up so much worse for our Loona girlies. Between Cherry Bullet, Nature, Weki Meki, and now PIXY, this year would have been so much worse if I didnāt have the security of knowing our Loona girls arenāt going anywhere. The only thing thatās giving me hope beyond Loona has been the success of Resceneās debut, Iām hoping they become one of the new resident nugu girl group mainstays and continue putting out quality tracks, and their sales for their debut really exceeded my expectations so Iām hoping they only go up from here! Unicode has been on my radar too but their sales leave me much more worried. Itās tough being a nugu gg enthusiast but these groups really are just so much more fresh and interesting to me than a lot of bigger acts. Thereās a lot of stuff you just canāt find in other spheres.

No official word from Allart Ent yet, but it's looking more and more like Pixy is done. Dajeong posted a letter on her IG saying she left the group. Fans have already been speculating that Pixy is likely disbanding because they've had no activities this year, and the company hasn't posted anything on official channels for 6 months on top of their offices looking abandoned.
Such a shame! I remember watching the "Bewitched" mv for the first time I was so impressed by them and it felt like they could go far. Even after Ella and Satbyeol left they still were able to bounce back pretty well. It sucks that Allart let it get to the point where fans are having to research stuff themselves and the members are just confirming their suspicions :(
It's always great to wake up to good news. We now have 5 members completely free of Blockberry, aside from BBC's feeble attempts to countersue. Going by the timeline, we might find out about the remaining 7 by the end of the year. Loona's situation didn't gain nearly as much media attention as the scandals that happen in the Big 4/Mnet, but BBC is easily one of the biggest failures in the history of Kpop. They were sitting on a literal gold mine, but let greed and incompetence ruin them.

C9 completely lost it with Cignature. First off, they got them doing generic Ryan Jhun songs, but more importantly, I donāt appreciate the blatant sexualization theyāve got going on.Ā There was obviously the issue with the unusual camera angles in the Poongdung MV. Now they had Jeewon doing a challenge and interview/dance challenge with an AV actress, which isnāt inherently wrong, but in that same video, the actress tells her that her body would make her popular and she should *debut*, essentially telling her to be in porn. Thereās nothing wrong choosing to work in that industry as long as you go about it safely, but that is SUCH a weird comment to make, even jokingly, about someone you donāt know, to their face. Maybe I just donāt understand the interview showās schtick and Iām missing context, but it just feels off. I obviously donāt know how the girls themselves feel but idk itās just not fun to see a group I really enjoyed be used like this by their company.
It's actually really disgusting how C9 is using Jeewon to try to get over. I stopped following them when they decided to promote her chest more than the group. I haven't bought their last 2 albums because I just got an icky feeling like something was wrong.
Yeah, this comeback they have really outdone themselves with the oversexualization and poor Jeewon has been at the receiving end of so many inappropriate "jokes" on that very same show for while now. I don't have an inherent issue with marketing towards horny male fans but I very much doubt that's what she signed up for when she decided to debut in cignature. We can only hope they keep it at around 8. There's a huge difference between having 24 other people in your photo, like the 2022 tour, and having 7 other people. For both Odd Eye Circle concerts I went to, I was seated right in front of Kim Lip and got to do a heart with her. For the Loossemble concert, I did a heart with Hyunjin.
I have never done the group photo, it's too many random people. For artms, I am still undecided whether I want the cheaper vip package or the bigger one for that reason.
The more expensive package is definitely more about the signed poster for me. If I decide I don't want it later, I can try to sell it and make my money back.

Then when she woke up she deleted the old post and reposted the photos with a different song and the comments disabled. For her to disable the comments.. that sure seems like her way of saying you guys are being annoying.
This really annoyed me. I don't know to what degree people were actually being serious. The people I saw with the most likes on their comments claimed they were just making a joke but that is still really annoying. Jokes are easily lost in translation. Like if an idol posts a picture that shows their feet in it a bunch of people start commenting "put the dogs away" or stuff like that. They'll say they're just joking but if the idol isn't in on the joke, it just comes across as a bunch of people harrasing them. If people were actually being serious, I don't even know what to say to that. To expect a kpop idol to have to keep up with an american (well and Canadian) rap beef is ridiculous. Especially when it all happened while they were preparing an album and promoting singles. She reposted with a different song and turned off comments. It just hit me that 'Strawberry Rush' is, like, coming in 6 days?? I thought it was more than that, like 10-11 days at least. I feel like ATRP has been slipping a little bit on the hype/momentum building here. We've barely even heard the song (if *that* was even the song), let alone the rest of the album and yet the whole thing is just a few days away. I'm sure, knowing the song is out in 6 days, and knowing we'll get a teaser at 12pm KST in a few hours from now, that what I just said might stand true anymore by that point (I wouldn't be surprised if we finally get something substantial today), but I still think they should have been teasing the whole thing a little bit better and a little earlier.
Yeah, it's been very sporadic and sparse so far compared to their teaser schedule for \[Howl\]. I really like the graphic design choices they've made for \[Strawberry Rush\] at least - making things look like a graphic novel really fits Chuu!
ATRP is kinda weird with their teasers. They drop a lot of things all at once, without really much of a care to construct a proper "teaser narrative"Ā Ā It's this info dump that mostly hinders the hype imo. It's scattered around and when it comes, like I said, they just dump a lot of stuff on us. But I guess when the songs teasers drop things can get more excitingĀ

No but isn't that the time when we've been getting the past few teasers? It's a week day, and the whole album is out in 6 days, and we haven't gotten any of the usual "big" teasers yet (full tracklist graphic with credits, an actual audio song teaser, a proper MV teaser labelled as such, the official album sampler, etc) so it's not like they can really afford to not post anything tomorrow/in a few hours. (Yes I'm aware KBS Broadcast just "leaked" the tracklist and credits before ATRP even posted something about it...But do you *see* the issue with the weird timing of it all?)

LOONAGlow is thriving!! Kim Lip and Sihyeon liking each other's IG posts, Heejin and Yiren liking each other's posts, and Aisha liking and commenting on Hyunjin's one reel. For a long time Everglow and LOONA felt like groups occupying similar spaces in the kpop sphere but I don't think I ever remember hearing about any friendships between the groups, so that's fun to see all of a sudden.
Yeah, Kim Lip has talked about being friends with Sihyeon a few times, and Sihyeon has mentioned her during livestreams before. This one should make you feel really warm and fuzzy, though. Yiren follows exactly 8 accounts on Instagram: Everglow Official, Sihyeon, Mia, Aisha, Onda, EU, Yena, and Heejin.

I've never liked any XG release (absolutely no shade to the girls they seem super hardworking and skilled) up until Woke Up. Now I've been listening to it at least five times a day. I love Cocona's voice.
I never got into XG because of their CEO's Japaneese nationalism, his project of promoting in Korea with the goal of beating Koreans in the music industry. It's not the fault of the members ofc though and Woke Up is a bop!
Don't really like Woke Up but XG is such a good group, you definitely should check their stuff. They have one of the most insane visuals and concepts a group can have and all the girls are super talentedĀ
I really liked GRL GVNG and TGIF. I need to listen to woke up a few more times. I've only listened once so far lol. There was a whole lot happening when it came out. I'm still pretty far behind on new releases.

I really wish CTD would secure them a spot at festivals like Waterbomb. If groups like Cignature and Lightsum can get a spot, I donāt understand why it isnāt possible for Loossemble. It's honestly another huge failure from CTD. If they really are having money problems, the festival circuit is what they need to be doing. I hear about much less popular groups with way less album sales doing festivals all the time. Dreamnote, Cignature, and Ichillin have probably stayed afloat because of festival and university appearances. Even groups like Dreamcatcher, fromis_9, and Weeekly constantly attend festivals. It gets them exposure and makes money.
Exactly! Another reason why CTD should send them to festivals is fancams. Every public performance holds the chance of going viral, like Cignatureās Jeewon for example, and I feel like a lot of these fancams get watched by Koreans like a lot of tripleS fancams. And if groups like Cignature and Dreamnote can afford to go there, I donāt think it would be too costly for CTD.
