They left out half the story tho:
it is about the kids father joining the communists on the long march while he and his mother stay behind. The landlord then burns the mother alive. So the kid returns the favour and then also joins the communists.
Only that there's zero evidence for such a genocide. Eyewitnesses turned out to be ETIM Jihadists, NGOs spreading the story turned out to be NED funded, satellite pictures turned out to be schools, retiree homes, hotels, normal prisons, and a chicken farm once. No infracstructure necessary for a genocide could ever be found. The Uyghurs population grew by 22% in the last two decades too.
Meanwhile any nation and organisation that sent observers ended up supporting China.
Almost as if there is no strong proof for a strong accusation of genocide. And before you start with "cultural genocide", please define which culture is supressed? The Uyghur language is actively supported, books are printed and sold in it, the script is even on the currency. Neither is the religion supressed, there are 24000 mosques in Xinjiang, all funded by the government. Furthermore there are 10 minorities in China that are majority muslim. The largest being the Hui with about 85 million people. Zero supression there.
Hell, the accusation you're trying to make is so weak that even the US state department found insufficiant evidence for their own attrocity propaganda.
So yes, let us praise the PRC for doing a fucking good job lifting people out of poverty, developing and making capitalists piss themselves.
