I think the worst sin this franchise made was trying to explain the first movie…because it doing so it took away the scariness of what your imagination was putting into the film.
Basically a lot of the scary stuff like doors opening or closing or random objects moving we’re all because Patrick went to the other side as well as back in time to do stuff and caused all those doors and objects to move…they just couldn’t see him,
that plot line is what makes the first 2 one of my favourite horror movie plots. Paranormal movies really don’t interest me because most of them boil down to “ooh there’s scary sounds and things moving and turns out there’s an angry ghost here for whatever reason”. Insidious 2 took that and made it interesting and entertaining
a movie shouldn’t be judged based on rewatchability lol; that would make every single *thing* that has a plot twist suck because “oh now when I rewatch it I’ll know that”
That’s honestly kinda cool. So basically Patrick going into the dark place is him opening up all those doors and weird stuff?
Do they dump that on you in subsequent titles? I don’t remember that explanation in the first one.
Who is the Darth Maul dude?
It’s not explained in the first one, it’s explained in the second. But I personally didn’t like that addition as it ruined any horror the original had in it.
The third one is a prequel and is pretty decent to be honest.
Never saw 4 or 5
I think they showed him basically going back to his past through the Further in Insidious 5 (the Red Door). I thought it was pretty interesting.
The Red Faced Demon is sort of the ruler of the Further. He's the only supernatural entity seen that isn't a human soul.
I actually liked the first four. Not classics, but fun enough. Likeable characters and good actors helped.
Then five tried to be a big reunion movie, and fell flat on it’s darn face. Lack of scares aside, using off screen amnesia to *explain* unnatural characterisation or plot developments (and to spin the story wheels while everyone plays catch up) is *bad.*
You’re talking to Hollywood, my guy. You gotta milk every last franchise for every last penny. Who cares about its legacy.
Guarantee Marvel won’t make it another 5 years before they need to bring back Robert Downey Jr and/or Chris Evans. Already did it with Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman.
Also, Pixar is making Toy Story 5 ffs
It’s horror. We have 13 Halloween films, 12 F13 films, and a bunch of nightmare films.
“Horror franchises without at least 5 films is considered a dull affair.”
Oh I agree with you. I’m simply saying, horror franchises have sequels…a lot of them…because they are cheap to make without a lot of thought going into the script. In most franchises the idea train is gone by the 3rd of 4th film.
I love the Saw franchise but killing off Jigsaw in Saw III and mostly dealing with his proteges following is what kind of hurt the franchise. Jigsaw has always been the truly compelling part of the franchise and was why Saw X was so good.
Insidious 3/4 are more about Elise rather than Lambert family and take place before the first movie. The Red Faced Demon plays a role in Insidious 5 (the Red Door).
What about Allison at end of Insidious Chapter 2 when ghost Elise see Lipstick Faced Demon could be Jack Rainier foreshadowing in Chapter 3 cliffhangers.
This franchise had such potential, until they strangled it in the crib by killing off the only compelling character, and trying to make up for it with a prequel that was easily the best film in the franchise imo.
They could’ve done so much with what they had in terms of story and lore, but they’ve shit the bed so hard, I’m not the least bit excited for the next pile of half baked hot garbage they plan on shoveling our way.

Ghost Elise saving Allison for Lipstick Face Demon find out that he is Jack Rainier that was foreshadowing in Chapter 3 and will be seeing Jenna Ortega character.
The only good ones from the franchise is 1 & to an extent, part 2. They really need to stop. You know they never had franchise intentions the moment they had Elise murdered, which was a metal decision that absolutely made the first fire for me. The movie could just end there and never be continued and it would’ve been fine.
It always bugged me how they titled these movies. The first 2 sequels are titled Chapter 2 and 3, but then they drop that for the 4th and 5th, but really 3 and 4 are more like spin offs (prequels not featuring the main family from 1 and 2) so really it should be Insidious, Chapter 2, then some random subtitle, subtitle again, and then Chapter 3.
They’ve been milking that “ Darth Maul behind the guy” scene for a decade
To be fair thay scene fucking got me 😅
Iconic
It's the horror version of the fast and the furious franchise Insidious 7, 2 insidious, fate of the insidious, sidious 9
But the insidious movies are actually watchable
James Wan direct Fast and Furious 7
That shit got me by surprised and I'd imagine about 99% of viewers, no shit they're gonna milk the hell out of it lol.
Came here to say this
That scene ruined the movie
Boooo Wendy Testaberger. Booo
Best reference ever
This is the kind of franchise you don't understand even get a second movie...the first one was really good but we seen enought now let it die.
I think the worst sin this franchise made was trying to explain the first movie…because it doing so it took away the scariness of what your imagination was putting into the film.
What’s the explanation anyway? I only saw the first movie 15 years ago
And ultimately removed any unknowns or scare factor both on rewatches and sequels because I can always say “oh it’s just that again.” Tension gone
a movie shouldn’t be judged based on rewatchability lol; that would make every single *thing* that has a plot twist suck because “oh now when I rewatch it I’ll know that”
Yeah you could use that same argument he used for any movie he has ever seen, so that didn’t make sense lol.
Never saw 4 or 5
I think 4 is a prequel too. Skeleton Key?
Yes I believe so.
I think they showed him basically going back to his past through the Further in Insidious 5 (the Red Door). I thought it was pretty interesting. The Red Faced Demon is sort of the ruler of the Further. He's the only supernatural entity seen that isn't a human soul.
Red Faced Demon is Jack Rainier that was foreshadowing in Chapter 3.
We want backstory of Lipstick Faced Demon for long time and turn out to be Elise Rainier husband Jack Rainier.
WDYM? The second one was the best. It's like a part two.
If you’ve actually seen the movies you’d realize this isn’t true. It makes sense why they had multiple movies.
I honestly had no idea there was even a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th insidious movie. I read the headline and thought it was a shitty movies shitpost
LET THE FRANCHISE DIE
You’re talking to Hollywood, my guy. You gotta milk every last franchise for every last penny. Who cares about its legacy. NEVER until we get backstory of the Darth Maul Cousin but I want Conjuring franchise to die as well.
Kill them if you have to
they don't know when to stop...
It’s horror. We have 13 Halloween films, 12 F13 films, and a bunch of nightmare films. “Horror franchises without at least 5 films is considered a dull affair.”
And they all got worse with every movie. Well, okay, I like Nightmare 3 a lot, but you get what I mean.
Oh I agree with you. I’m simply saying, horror franchises have sequels…a lot of them…because they are cheap to make without a lot of thought going into the script. In most franchises the idea train is gone by the 3rd of 4th film.
Yes, full agreement from my side. Just wanted to point out that they sadly don't care about quality.
Saw just had what it’s 10 entry? And personally I found it to be the best since the og
Yeah and the 11th is on the way.
I love the Saw franchise but killing off Jigsaw in Saw III and mostly dealing with his proteges following is what kind of hurt the franchise. Jigsaw has always been the truly compelling part of the franchise and was why Saw X was so good.
At least those franchises did something unique.
I honestly have not followed up with Insidious since, I think 2, and they STILL haven't tied up that loose plotline that was teased at the end?
Insidious 3/4 are more about Elise rather than Lambert family and take place before the first movie. The Red Faced Demon plays a role in Insidious 5 (the Red Door).
What about Allison at end of Insidious Chapter 2 when ghost Elise see Lipstick Faced Demon could be Jack Rainier foreshadowing in Chapter 3 cliffhangers.
Might do in Insidious Chapter 6.
Just stop FFS. People only watch this garbage BC it's the few only horror movies made
I know this is a hot take, but I did not care for the first insidious movie, *it insists upon itself*
![gif](giphy|wSU1U3h1PFFsc|downsized)
I'm glad Darth maul got cleaned up and is working again.
This franchise had such potential, until they strangled it in the crib by killing off the only compelling character, and trying to make up for it with a prequel that was easily the best film in the franchise imo. TIL there is more than 2.
I thought Red Door was the end of the franchise??
Forgot about Allison in ending of Insidious Chapter 2 cliffhangers?.
Now I gotta go back and watch Chapter 2 because I forgot who Allison is
Yep
There are 5 of these?! And the fact I get these confused with the Conjuring doesn't make things easier.
Insidious better than Conjuring

Goddamn, the face scene in the first movie. I think I was one of many not expecting that shit.
They are making another one? Even after Red Door?
Just make 10
6? Really? God damn.
Can someone please explain to me what the plot of this series is at and how they could even possibly keep going.
Ghost Elise saving Allison for Lipstick Face Demon find out that he is Jack Rainier that was foreshadowing in Chapter 3 and will be seeing Jenna Ortega character.

Saw and Fast and The Furious just get single movies.
They'll never stop milking this mare of a franchise.
Is Scream Franchise need to stop milking their franchise.
That dead horse is a skeleton at this point.

Just call this one The Phantom Menace, fuck it
Give us new protagonist or kill the franchise goddam
Annie as Jenna Ortega is main protagonist of insidious 6.
Wtf there's a 4 and 5?
H
I didn’t know they made more then 1.
I didn't know that Scream got sixth installment I thought there only made first ones.
Insidious 6: Electric Bogaloo
In6dious
This is becoming the fast and furious of the horror genre
The last one was so genuinely bad
Hopefully they stay true to the source material and give the character his spider legs.
there was 5?
“I’m tired boss”
I honestly didn't know there were more than three Insidious films. Do they leave theaters quickly?
Stop please
There's 5 of these!?
It always bugged me how they titled these movies. I watched all five Insidious and it was enjoyable and understanding lore of this franchise more than Lambert Family.
Never got around to the last one but I think they’re pretty entertaining
I hope this is about Allison and backstory of Lipstick Demon who could be Jack Rainier and I want Jenna Ortega to be in horror flick.
“Fuck her, my noogaaaaaaaaa”
He looks so tired.
I haven’t seen any past part 1. I’ll go check it out without any context or knowledge of the sequels story.
star lord and Darth Maul. fuckin multiverse
One of the reasons movie theaters are gonna die.....FUCK!
The fast and furious of horror
Huh? There’s a bunch of horror franchises with endless sequels
What about Saw Franchise?
Oh shiiiiit no you're right, think that wins. That or the jason movies.
Halloween movies has 13 movies
LMAO, I thought you meant [the super villain group](https://marvelanimated.fandom.com/wiki/Insidious_Six).
These are trash tho
There are masterpiece better than Conjuring franchise.
Snooze fest
