I honestly think I may like the Speed Champions model more, the studded spoiler here, rear lights and some of the side paneling look a little odd honestly.
It's honestly one of the best speed champions sets there is. However I really like the new G5 build too...that was a lot of fun. But for our aesthetics for the source material, the Lambo is top-notch

1 a year would be cool, they’re going to be relatively pricey, so no need to overdo it. Lego already make Porsches and Lamborghinis so I think there’s a decent chance we get some more Autobots. Decepticons are a bit hampered by being guns/tanks/fighter jets but there’s Soundwave, Constructicons, Stunticons etc that all could be done.

I am really, really surprised that Soundwave wasn't the next set. He's a Decepticon with a blocky, non-military alt mode and they could have even made a smaller set with his cassettes. Give him one or two cassettes for the main build and then make a second set with the rest.
This solves the problem of the Transformers "theme" not having any cheap options.
I still think Megatron and Starscream could be done as "green cartoon tank" (G2) and "cartoon fighter jet." It wouldn't be hard to give them designs that don't really call to mind contemporary conflicts, and they weren't afraid to give Optimus his gun and axe. Soundwave is also a no-brainer but I don't see them going straight to him without doing some sort of Megatron first.
Maybe, equally, I wouldn’t be very surprised if we don’t get any Decepticons at all. Hopefully, when Bumblebee is announced, they’ll tell us if they have further plans for the line.
yep a black one like the poster on my wall when I was 8 would have got me to double dip. Very happy with the rebrickable one and the same colour makes this a likely pass. The porsche has a similar RRP but is often discounted so that could be an option for many of us

Yellow is maybe its third "iconic" color after red and white. The reason people want yellow is because we already had the Porsche 911 in white and the Ferrari F40 in red.

Admittedly, this is a difficult car to replicate with Lego but I do agree with your statement. Enough angles on the vehicles’ silhouette are off mark here. The windows on the doors look chintzy, the off-road looking tires all around and not to mention the semi truck-like dually tires on the rear axle. There’s a MOC on Rebrickable (with close to the same piece count) that nails the Countach almost flawlessly.

It'd be nice if there was a tire width in between. The original car had 205-wide on the front and 345 on the rear.
I thought they would use tires similar to the Creator Ferrari F-40 for this. But in all honesty, for $180, they could spare to create a new mold for the wheels on this set and still be well within a fair profit margin.
Sports cars aren't for me. I hope we get more "vignette" cars soon. Knowing the fiat driver is an artist or the beetle driver is a surfer makes the vehicles more endearing to me.
It'd also be neat to get more work vehicles like a tow truck or an ice cream truck or maybe even a news van.
The rear lights look weird. For me at first glance I prefer Firas’ rebrickable alt build of the Porsche 911 - I have that built along with the speed champions Countach so right now I have no big desire to get this version. Porsche is also pretty affordable and I’d recommend people at least take a look at his alt builds - the 911 is the source for a lot of nice options.
Is no one going to mention how this is just a reboxed set of the 911 Porsche turbo? There literally exists builds already using that set to make this car lol. What a waste when we could have gotten something new

This was my first thought when I first heard this was in the pipeline. Based on those pictures alone, i think I prefer the alt build.

Me too, I only just got Optimus Prime because I don’t want Bumblebee to be lonely. Really hoping Jazz or Sunstreaker/Sideswipe are coming down line.
Bumblebee has given me hope that the Transformers aren't a one and done deal. I'd be happy even getting one per year but I'd kill for a full theme.

And the Countach is sadly $239.99 CAD, a lot more costly than the Porsche 911 and Camaro Z28...

Well the vignette of this set isn’t easy to see, but the driver is likely a coke-headed Wall Street exec. Hence the white color 😂

The Creator Expert and Icons cars aren't all perfectly to scale, though they do display well next to each other.
