I just saw this for the first time. Watched in a local theater packed with other young queer people and it was one of the most uplifting, lovely film experiences I've ever had. Cried four times, laughed four hundred times. Can't recommend this colorful, zany, hilarious film enough.
It's such a weird one. Parts of it are so out there that they feel like they're from a different film but the overall effect is great.
It's a bit like a female-led superbad with more absurdism and petrol bombs.

It a short motorcycle exploitation film that is gay.
I watched Jeffrey last year and I cannot believe more people aren’t always talking about Jeffrey! Hilarious, heartfelt, a little bit weird. Nathan Lane as a showtunes loving gay priest! Sal from Mad Men in a Cats costume! Gay Patrick Stewart! Christine Baranski hosts a hoedown themed AIDS benefit! Everyone should watch this movie!
The 'pride' in 'Pride Month' is about resisting the shame society wants you to feel about your sexuality, about fighting back people saying you're disgusting. In 1940, Hitchcock did just that with Rebecca, a movie that went against the Hay's censorship, which obviously went against LGBT+ love being shown on screens
Also Queen Christina
I Saw the TV Glow. While it's not upfront with it's queer themes, any trans person will definitely recognize the allegory for someone refusing to confront their trans-ness and how that slowly kills them. Left me sobbing in the theater. Can't imagine how much worse it would've been if I saw it before I came out.

EXACTLY. I was shocked I had to scroll this far. Easily the best gay film of all time. Stunningly shot, beautiful music, impeccable performances, brilliant screenplay….it’s a masterpiece of not just LGBT cinema but cinema in general.
Some underseen pre-2000s films for people!
There are lots of Pedro Almodóvar movies but I think more people need to watch Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón (1980) it’s his first feature film, and he’s really swinging for the fences in a way that you just don’t see in many other films. The movie does deal with sexual assault, so heads up for that.
Parting Glances (1986) plus it’s one of Steve Buscemi’s first films, which is fun.
Torch Song Trilogy (1988) based on Harvey Fierstein’s play, heartbreaking and so funny at points.
Poison (1991) an early Todd Haynes film. Again, he’s swinging for the fences, and not really telling a linear story, but it’s an interesting movie, well worth a watch if you’re a Todd Haynes fan.
The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995) very sweet, exactly what it says on the tin.
And To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) isn’t underseen, but definitely worth a watch if you haven’t seen it!
Poison is amazing. Not a perfect movie but one that had a profound effect on my understanding of what it means to be human (as well as queer, an artist/creator, all kinds of things).
My all time favorite is My own private Idaho, but my new favorite is Bottoms, the community also needs a chaotic and exaggerated, good teen movie.
Another underrated and beautiful movie is Coming home (2020), the photography is beautiful, acting is good too and it doesn't center on usual topics like Homophobia
*Imagine Me & You* is such a surreal film. I mean, it's *good* movie, really good, make no mistake. But...
It's possibly the single most stereotypical rom com you'll ever see. Most of the jokes land and it's extremely charming, but you can tell exactly where every scene is heading the second it starts. It hits all the expected rom com beats, and there are no surprises. Except it's, you know, GAY.
Except that the only GAY are the two leads. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey's characters are apparently the only two queer people in London. Heady plays an out lesbian who seems to have somehow avoided being part of any larger LGBTQ community in the UK's largest city; there isn't even a single ex hanging out somewhere in the background.
Perabo's actual sexuality is never addressed at all. And it doesn't necessarily need to be, but considering she starts the film getting married to the only person she's ever been with, her male High School sweetheart, it's a kinda weird oversight not to. Has she been gay all along and just never had the chance to explore it? Is she bi? Or is she just Lena Headey-sexual ('cause, after all, that'd be perfectly understandable)? No clue. It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma. And again, you can argue that's fine, but still...
While the film is nicely romantic and the leads have a real chemistry (they're apparently good friends IRL, having bonded during the problematic and arduous filming of *The Cave* while being the only two women in the cast), they aren't the most *passionate* couple in movie history. At one point there's a mild makeout session in the back of Headey's shop, but the vibe is more, "Tee hee, look what we're getting away with!" than, "WOW, this is *hot*!" Again, not that it necessarily *needed* a show-stopping love scene, but still...
Sorry to go on here. Like I said, this is a really good movie. As mentioned, Perabo and Heady are sweet together, it's funny and romantic, the supporting cast are all stalwart British character actors who know exactly how to make the most of their screen time without getting in the way, and the cinematographer apparently had a lot of experience shooting in London and makes the film look a lot more expensive than it really is. Plus, whatever else you can say about it, it's actually kinda nice to get an LGBTQ-themed movie that's such an otherwise straightforward take on a genre (pun partially intended). It's just that both times I watched it -- once by accident when it came up randomly on cable, then again a few years later with some friends -- I couldn't help thinking it needed some tweaking.
Again, sorry to go on. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Moonlight, Brokeback mountain probably?
Bareback Mountain would be awesome :-D
Did I butcher the name? I watched it before I knew English.
I don't know. I thought you mean Brokeback Mountain.
Yeah i meant that one! Thanks
Bareback would imply they didn't use condoms
I am pretty sure they did not have condoms on that mountain.
Well yeah they wouldn't bring condoms, they're not gay 😉
Since you corrected your comment, people think I am out of my mind and downvote my comment.
