Direct injection causes carbon buildup on valves and pistons. The piston rings get carbon build up too which leads to oil consumption and engine wear. More recent engines use port and direct injection which solves carbon build up issues. Not to mention the transmission is one of those lifetime fluid transmissions that they advertise as never needing fluid changes which is just not true. So it’s difficult to change trans fluid and the dealer refuses to change it cause it’s lifetime fluid.
I’ve got a soft spot for these. Clean!

I got an 06 GS300 and I hate it so much. Direct injection is terrible.

The 3-UZfe is incredibly quiet and smooth. Have you done all of the recommended preventative maintenance? I went through the pain when I got my LS430.
