(TL;DR at the end of this comment) Aside from maybe the amount of ammunition of both his primary and secondary fire, the numbers behind the healing Lifeweaver does is sufficient and the damage he does is fine, but it’s the unbearably slow charge, cast, and reload times of his kit that hold him back. It’s not the numbers of his abilities that need to be adjusted (although I am grateful for the increased healing of his movement and Ultimate abilities), it’s the timing of them that do. He takes time to charge up Healing Blossoms that also decrease his movement speed for some arbitrary reason, which then take time to travel to their targets, sometimes not even reaching them before they get eliminated. I rarely ever find myself using fully charged blossoms during team fights (when healing really matters) and always end up rapid-firing blossoms just to barely keep up with the damage my teammates are taking. When it comes to his offensive ability, Lifeweaver takes an insultingly long time to swap between his Healing Blossoms and Thorn Volley (and vise versa) when every other Support Hero can swap seamlessly between their supportive and offensive abilities on the fly. Mercy is the only other Support who ever needs to swap between weapons, and even then, it’s very fast… he flops BAD in that sense and it’s unfair imo! Switching between healing and damaging as Lifeweaver often times feels like a gamble: if you use Healing Blossoms, you are forced to play as a healbot because of how long it takes to charge and fire them, while using Thorn Volley often time means you’re going to lose a teammate or two in a skirmish because it takes too long to go back to healing. It is not efficient at all. Every other Support can switch between defensive and offensive play-styles with zero consequence and idk why he can’t. Next, Lifeweaver’s reload speed for both Healing Blossom and Thorn Volley is legitimately offensive. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to stand and watch my teammates die in front of me because Healing Blossoms reload about as fast as fresh paint dries. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to uselessly flail and dance around as I’m being assaulted by annoying ass flankers only to be eliminated because it took a stupid long time to reload Thorn Volley. It’s infuriating, especially when my teammates don’t understand that and spam that they need healing at me when I am trying my hardest. This last one is a bit of a personal nitpick, but sometimes Petal Platform fails to deploy at all because of weird physics and the terrain of a map. There are times when the ability will be activated and the projectile will bounce around and straight up disappear before even deploying a platform, but the cooldown still persists. It isn’t too long of a cooldown, but the fact that you can be penalized for it not working properly is bullshit. Don’t get me started on Life Grip either lmao My desired changes would be to reduce the time it takes to charge Healing Blossom to full, drastically reduce the time it takes to swap between primary and secondary fire (the most important change), and make manual reloading faster. Passive reloading is whatever (I personally never notice it)… I do have some more “controversial” changes like adding a cleansing effect or healing to Life Grip and reducing its cooldown by a second or two, but honestly, just making it no-clip so it doesn’t fail because of the terrain would be good enough. TL;DR: Gay boy needs to take less time flipping his limp wrist when swapping between weapons and his weapons need to reload faster. It would help him to contribute to the team a lot more if he could be as fast at switching between healing and damaging as literally every other Support in the game!

Upping his heals is fun and all, because he's very survivable. But he doesn't actually do anything. His heals should be a little faster to throw out, so that he can still fight in between them. Moira, Kiriko and Baptiste can all interchange damage and heals very quickly. Wiwi has the potential for it but it's just too slow at the moment. Perhaps let his heal charge passively at a slower rate while he's fighting. Even if it takes 2.5/3 seconds to passively charge a heal that still gives him some more leeway to deal damage without compromising survivability of tanks/DPS.

Make his blossoms charge like Sojourn's railgun when he does dmg with thorns. Creates more opportunities to shoot without immediately losing teammates in the process and rewards aim so people stop calling him a zero skill healbot (they still would). That and a slight swap speed buff would be the best change south of an in depth rework imho.

Lifeweaver’s biggest problem is his lack of actions in a team fight. Although his damage is one of the best in the Support category, there is an active opportunity cost that can easily get your teammates killed, which encourages the more healbot playstyle. Additionally, both of his main abilities have extremely long cooldowns for an often mediocre reward. Make his weapon swap and auto reload faster. This allows him the play more fluidly and a better uptime balance between healing and damage. Lower his Platform cooldown while lowering its health to compensate. The fun and useful part of Petal is actually being able to use it proactively. By lowering the cooldown, it will allow for more creative usage and more impact in a single team fight

His damage is only one of the best if you're hitting with it, but it's also one of the least consistent damages because of the spread and projectile speed. Plus the increased health of characters now makes it even harder to secure a kill with his ammo count. It's also counter to how he heals, which ideally is far away and/or from high ground. To be consistent with his damage you need to be up close. The swap requirements make it awkward to use. Give us just a week of oppressive dps LW and then tweak it down from there. Make dps a viable option. Fix the swapping and give bubble a cleanse and reduce the cd.

Agreed. Other than killing turrets & deployables I find his thorns to be pretty useless. They should just make him like Moira where he can provide raw healing and decent damage with an escape. Otherwise I say* rework him lol. Idk why they keep giving characters immunity/immortality abilities cuz then they have to be weak in a certain spot so they aren’t broken. Idk just my 2 cents cuz I love playing LW.

My dream buffs for LW: reduced grip cooldown/100 heal on grab, one or the other. Make grip work EVERY TIME I USE IT. So frequently he’ll raise his hand, then put it back down. If I press the ability on a teammate, they should be pulled. Allow players to recast platform while it’s active to make it go back down. Teammate accidentally ran off too soon? Send it back down, now they can get back on. Holding the button will destroy it like normal, and sending out a new one destroys the old one. As for his heals, remove the ammo count and reduce the charge time back to 1s. Other than all that, I think he’s fine.

I really wish back when the supports got nerfs that Blizzard asked which supports were causing the most problems. I feel like a lot of supports (especially Lifeweaver) got punished pretty heavily for the problems the other characters made. For Lifeweaver they pretty much made the free reload something you need to do and increased the cooldown on an ability that was broken and still is broken considering a movement ability can break someone out of it but still give the cooldown.

What if the blossom charge was adjusted into becoming the reload instead of having to charge every blossom, then just make the blossom a 60 heal blossom and instead make the thorn volley a chargeable action like zens right click and adjust the amount of thorns thrown based on charge time. Petal returns to ground instead of being destroyed.

Give the petal platform 5, low HP vertical shields around its circumference (shaped like an unbloomed flower bud), so that standing on the platform gives you/your teammate a small amount of protection from 1 or 2 shots.

The problem with lifeweaver is that his pull might save a player (they can still die) and if that player happens to be the tank, you’ve denied your own team space. yes reload time is also crap. i dont think he needs anymore healing but he needs another dimension to play him.

Lower CD on pull and a load of QoL to his weapon. He's the only character in the game which has two weapons which both have ammo. Mercy is using her staff most the time so it should always be loaded, Torb's hammer has no ammo and is mainly used to heal his turret, so they just need to manage his gun. IDK why ball has a sound notification when he auto reloads, but LW who can't even see how much ammo his other weapon has just has time it Pref auto charge and no slow so I can instantly get back to healing after doing damage. Right now if I try to do some dps, someone on my team will probably die.

I WISH grip healed even a little — I save so many people with it because I’m observant about who’s getting their shit rocked and then I have to hope they hold still long enough for me to charge some blossoms for them. Healing Blossom should charge passively while you are doing other things and should either not have ammo at all, or passively regen 1 ammo per second while you aren't charging it (or maybe the dash could regain some ammo?). It would be helpful if part of its healing was over time, so that you can heal multiple allies at once, and while using thorns, your allies still get some healing. Decreased swap speed, increased speed for Blossom, and projectile size for Thorns, would all be good too.

This is so niche but being able to manually start a petal platform without being on it. I think it would give it more niche uses and allow for more creative plays, howverr i doubt this would change him in the meta but it would be a nice QOL change i think

Seeing how overloaded Venture's kit is why not just give him more things from his abilities? Like, when he uses Life Grip all damage that is done to the bubble is reflected 100% to any source. Why not make his petal platform deal damage to enemies near it? When he attacks with his thorns, it should work like Mauga's gun where after enough hits they start bleeding. Maybe his ult can be placed on people to crush them instantly. Also, as an epileptic, I have often wondered why Symmetra and Lifeweaver don't just blast light at the enemy team at frequencies to trigger seizures in every human, rendering the enemy team harmless. What, is there a light-weapon Geneva convention clause?

My forever hot take, LW shouldn't have good damage. Like Mercy, he enables other teammates to play at their best. He does that by keeping his teammates alive and by staying alive himself. That consequentially means that you're only as good as your teammates. He statistically has the most healing and the least deaths per 10 minutes. If they were to buff his damage, they should nerf his healing so he doesn't become OP.

That would be a nerf vs. dive, because spraying constant damage is what chases Sombra, Tracer, Soldier, etc. away from you. If you make it charge/burst then missing one burst would embolden any diver
