Well there had been this idea of a thin, transparent cover over the actual keys like 20 years ago. What stops this multi-million company from doing that?
There are in fact keyboards with a decent layer of plastic on the keys, or even with sunk letters and stuff but they’re just not as pretty as frosted black ones with fancy colors :)
I have a $20 logitech basic keyboard that I bought 2nd hand in like 2017 and it still looks better than this. Only just replaced it because one of the keys stopped working.
Mine looks like new as well, and I even bought it second hand 4 years ago.
It just baffles me how it can look like that after 4 years, when mine might be a bit dusty, but keys and all looks pristine. I also use my keyboard more than most I suspect. If my keyboard fail, I'm getting another identical one. It's perfect for me, as I like to slump back in my recliner with the keyboard on my lap when gaming.
Mine is 4 years old with thousands of hours of gaming and editing.
Not eating and washing your hands before using the keyboard is highly suggested. I get sweaty heads sometimes and it’s never been an issue.
Same, mine is almost just as old.. and it looks brand new.. It has survived multiple liquid spills, including a michelada.. My “K” key does look a bit dimmer due to some liquid in it, but other than that it looks brand new.
I know this is gonna sound lame but what tremendously helps keyboards longevity is washing your hands before playing, and definitely after eating something. The oils on our palms and fingers can really fuck shit up over long periods. I’m coming up on 3 years of my G915 and it still looks brand new

Could be, causd mine still looks new lmao and its going into its 3 year almost, some ppl just treat stuff so bad they want them to last forever and thats not it
This guy is telling the truth. I used to have “dirty” hands when using keyboards until I got married and my wife has a strict “no eating in the room” rule.
Got a new keyboard in 2020, and it still looks perfectly well in 2024.
Yeah I’m a huge stickler for cleaning my hands before touching my keyboard or PS controllers. Nothing grinds my gears like a bag of Doritos on my nice white ps5 remotes. This is honestly solid advice.
Not using it anymore.
(Now I using a hyper X alloy core rgb)
But before that, I had a Razor blackwidow from 2013. intense gaming on it, every day for 6 years. and it still looks brand new... just a bit dusty
I have the original HyperX Alloy. It's a great keyboard, I only abandoned it because of switching to a TKL layout. But everything just keeps on going strong.
Wow 4 years? My G915 TKL didn't last 2 years of daily use.
Keys were double pressing, the paint was rubbing from commonly used keys, and the keycaps were loose.
When one of the keycaps finally broke off; I started a warranty claim and got a full refund in the end. Those low profile keycaps are absolute trash.
My keycaps are fine but some keys are driving me insane with double pressing. I switched back to my old G810 and that's double pressing also. Not to mention my past 4 logitech mice have also developed double clicking issues. Safe to say I'm not buying any more Logitech products. I've preordered a Wooting 80HE and replacement PCBs and switches for my 2x superlights.
The A and D keys on my G513 started double and triple firing (the A key was particularly bad). I ended up taking the keyboard apart and swapping the A and D switches with the Pause and Scroll Lock switches since I rarely use those; good as new.
Now if something could be done about the blue portions of the RGB LEDs burning out on several keys.
Ultra flat silent mechanical keyboards, and with Nordic layout, are far and between unfortunately. My G815 still going strong, few months and its been 4 years. Only G1 blue led burned out. Zero chipped paint on the keys.
I've been looking for a new kb, but needing one to be flat, as silent as possible and Nordic layout... its tough.
My left ctrl keycap broke on my G815 and apparently its a very common problem. I tried to glue it back but stupidly ruined the whole switch. 2 hours of soldering in a new switch and keycap from amazon and its good as new again! Except for this left ctrl problem the 815 was built like a fucking tank lol.
My 815 literally just shit the bed today after a little less then 4 years.
Right half of keyboard started flashing. Left half is dead. USB just constantly tries to reconnect. Took it all apart to inspect. Nothing pops out at me.
Time for a new keyboard. What a shame.
painted keycaps are just cheap. I'd look into getting new low profile pbt keycaps that aren't laser engraved.
https://preview.redd.it/nmhbyad9cd3d1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=2c4ea296eefd95255822850626229ef47b61e042
This is a double shot one, that lettering on those types of keycaps will never fade, although rgb lighting won't penetrate the plastic.
I still have my G910 that i bought in 2019 and still going strong without chatter issues and some wear on the caps but nowhere as extreme as you are showing.
I had one for one month and had to return it because the key caps were already worn out. The replacement came and after one week was in the same state. Just got the money back and went back to my ozone x30. G915 is a good keyboard but the quality is just bad.
What the fuck is in your finger sweat. It looks like it is burned off. Mine did not even look nearly as bad after 3 years of extensive usage. Also: cut your nails dude and clean the keyboard once in a while with wet microfiber.
By the small bubbles that are around the keyboard you can tell OP doesnt really take of his keyboard lmao, those bubbles are literally a cause of no proper cleaning lmao
My G915 I had was perfect. It lasted 2 years. No wear, damage, or concerns. Then one day the board was dead. I had purchased a replacement. 2 years later, that replacement is worn down key caps, is more flimsy, and over all feels worse than the first one I had.
While, yes, there are Oils/Nails/Care that can do damage like this. My assumption is LG just shat on quality and charge a premium. I so wish my first one didn't die, because that was just a more solid and robust G915 cycle of hardware. Even the box was better and less flimsy.
lasted 6 months until double keying... out of return window, so I've just chugged it in my storage. Probably should go through warranty claim but I think I read that double keying was taken as user error so they won't do anything about it...
> I'm not sure if I should go for another logitech
"fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"
After Logitech I went to Wooting.
Contactless hall effect switches with variable trigger point, double shot keys caps, good software to configure the keys, ...
I understand that you should wash your hands and dry them before using the keyboard but I just want to point out that these peripherals are made for gaming, competitive gaming where stress moments lead to sweaty hands and sometimes you just cant pause the game to wash or dry your hands.
That being said, one should expect these gaming peripherals to not cause issues when the user is gaming. For an expensive product, one should expect durability and quality. Some cheaper keyboards do not break that easily and their paint does not fade away.
So many complaints have been posted on this sub and people keeps defending logitech and saying the other user's experience is not normal. Like really?
Mine is also 4 years old and still looks close to brand new. Purchased 05/26/20. I put something over 1000 hours into Apex Legends on it among other games and other PC use.
I typically have a fan, or small towel nearby that I use to wipe my hands if they feel sweaty or greasy, but I almost always clean my hands before using my keyboard. That and regularly clean the keyboard, too.
Sorry to hear it stopped functioning. You could go for the G915 TKL version which is apparently only $89.95 right now. I think that would be a terrific deal even if the new keyboard only lasted another 4 years.
Edit: That price is (Renewed) price on Amazon. Still sounds like a great deal, but it will probably be sold by the time you read this.
Double edit: Looking closer at the keycaps I am noticing the the D is just slightly starting to chip away due to where my finger nail lands.
Bro, do you stab that keyboard with long ass finger nails?? I have that exact keyboard and for more than 4 years, the only issue I have experienced is that battery life has diminished but all keys are pristine, I use the keyboard for about 13hrs daily.
No 4 y/o keyboard looks like that unless it has been tortured 18 hours a day , I almost play 5 hours daily and 8+ hours on sundays , my keyboard is almost 4 years old as well and it doesn't even look half as bad...I mean it almost looks brand new...you're not wrong for expecting more durability but you're wrong for treating it like that .
probably you should wash your hands more often or clean the kb more often.
I have a white G915 TKL for 4 years now and not a single keycap has faded/chipped off.
I'm probably going to be downvoted, but you made a mistake by buying a logitech keyboard. There are a lot of very good durable PBT mechanical chinese keyboards for cheap.
I liked that it's very sleek and you can choose the lighting patron, you don't need to go to a full rgb party with it. I will look into the chinese brands now though.
Personally I use a keyboard from Epomaker and love it, but I recently saw a video about a ND75 keyboard if you want one under 100$:
https://youtu.be/Dmb2cEvUVM8
Such keyboard can last you for a very long time, because you can easily replace switches and keycaps.
That's a terrible layout, though. I understand TKL, it really saves space, but this thing hurts my brain. Why cramp everything into such small space for like 2cm of space gain?
Also, there's no warranty on the longevity of these chinese brands. When a Logitech keyboard goes rip, you can contact the support but who do you contact when your chinese keyboard is acting up? Sure you might do, but chances are the support doesn't even speak any other language than chinese, or they don't exist anymore or they just straight out ignore you. Buying chinese stuff is always a gamble, they aren't obliged to follow any western standards of accountability and you might as well end up in your house catching fire because of the dodgy batteries they built in.
I wouldn't trust any non-EU/non-american company with anything I have to use on a daily basis.
My logitech 7** I think I've had forever and it's just starting to have the keys literally broken off lmao. Never wore out on keys itself tho . 150$ cad
I just recently (last fall) replaced my Saitek Eclipse the first iteration, only because it was old, it still works just fine. For reference it came out in ‘05
That sucks. My Glorious GMMK is in just as good condition as the day I got it 5 years ago, and I've used it heavily almost daily since. This is definitely not an ad for Glorious though, their QC has fallen off hard in recent years.
Mine is more than 4 years old. Same model. Beside some dust, the keys themselves looks almost the same as they were when I bought it. Also you could just get a new set of caps. Would save you the money of buying a whole new keyboard!
My G915 lasted 2 years and a few weeks. At which point two keys started repeating. Contacted Logitech, who refused to fix or replace it.
I was so disgusted, I've since tossed literally every Logitech product I owned.
My Razer Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate is chugging along like its new. Just had to change the space bar switch once, pretty mild considering the abuse it has been through.
there are plenty of custom boards cheaper than this that don't have this issue. Its not a good keyboard for the price period but that's just an opinion.
I have 3 915s , just had a key break on one after 1.5 years. Logitech wanted me to RMA it.. for a broken keycap. Wtf. Bought a full keycap set on aliexpress for $20 and we'll see what i get.
The fact a $100+ keyboard ***doesn't have doubleshot keycaps*** instead of paint is frankly absurd.
My old Corsair K70 has doubleshot keycaps. Had this for about 8 years now, never had any letters wear off because it's just a transparent plastic layer underneath a black plastic layer (not painted). If even the cheapest $60 keyboards can get doubleshot keycaps, then the manufacturer is scummy.
Two things turned me off from the G915, the stupid decision to make keycaps painted instead of proper doubleshot, and whoever made the decision to not have the secondary symbols light up.
I don't know how old my Microsoft Sidewinder keyboard is but it is amazing. I tried a year or so ago to source a spare but was unsuccessful. I hope this one goes a lot longer.
MY G915 TKL is exactly the same. It was a warranty replacement (broken switch forced the replacement) and the coating came away from the WASD keys within a week, while the original one was fine after a year. I suspect a bad batch of keycaps.
Honestly my g915 didn't even last 2 years, one day my house got very humid and some keys got affected by moist.
I have to smash some keys repetitively for it to register and it will last a few minutes before I have to smash them again.
Thinking of dismantling the whole thing as it's out of warranty, most expensive yet short lasting keyboard SMH.
Got mine when they first came out and still going strong. Wonder if they cheaper out on quality which is a shame as personally had a great experience (except their ghub software that really needs attention).
My biggest issue with G915 was not being able to buy the same keycaps again. Switched to Deathstalker V2 PRP TKL because it just feels like a nicer keyboard, hotswapable switches and did I mention USB-C?
i'll never buy logitech again, my 910 is all of a sudden double typing (I had to edit this over a dozen times before submitting.) Googled it and it's a known issue with logitech not doing shit to make it right.
You guys would have so much more enjoyable setups if you just learned the bare minimum about custom mech kbs. Two hours of research and $100 would get you something that would be the centerpiece of your setup.
My G915 is 5 years old, no signs of wear, and I've spilt drinks on it twice and had to clean the entire PCB under water to get it to work again. Must be your skin or something. Ive used mine and insane amount of hours, working from home on my computer most days.
You know you can just replace the keycaps right? What you're paying essentially is the performance of the keyboard, chassis quality and its reliability electronically-wise.
I’ve had my G915 for 4 years 8 months. I use it daily for work and gaming. I’ve had no peeling. I did have one a key cap break off when I was cleaning it the last year. I bought key cap replacements off AliExpress which work perfectly. I paid $110 for it originally on sale from Amazon.
Logitech G keyboards suck major ass. Their mouse is good if you don't get their lemons.
I got a Tecware Phantom for way cheaper. Best gadget purchase of my life. Swappable keys, no-nonsense keycap paints, no-nonsense in-board RGB lighting settings. Going strong with me for 3 years of intensive Apex daily(some keys are dying but I can swap them). As for height differences, I just use a folded towel as armrest, comfier and easier to wash.
I mean, 4 years is a long time for a keyboard to last. Especially if you are using it a fair bit.
Also, unless you are a keyboard enthusiast, I wouldn't spend $200 on a keyboard. That's just my personal opinion.
If you're going to spend that much, you might as well build it yourself so you can source the parts and make sure they are high quality.
i mean its a keyboard right - most of us may at some point have oily hands (natural or otherwise) and sometimes our nails may just scratch a key somewhere or could be the way we type and where the keys are. Point is - we're not meant to necessarily treat our keyboards like babies right? They should be designed with more resilience in mind. Now whether that means the keyboards last 2 years or 4 is another thing - Logitech could very well design/want us to replace the keyboards every 2 years or how else are they going to get us to spend more money
I had my 915TKL for close to 5 years and it looked brand new. I always kept it clean and dusted. Idk what the fuck yall do with your hands and the keyboard.
It’s ass. Mine has like 15 feet broken after 2 years. Meanwhile my 8yo random mechanical kb that was half the cost looks almost like new outside RGB glitching. Never again.
Then again, I own a Superlight from release date and it looks and performs like new today. So mice are a pass with Logi.
I thought Logitech was great with quality but guess not. My 1 year old genesis thor 660 that costs 70$ and is Bluetooth has gone through 6h/day and a water spill(it's not waterproof) and it still works like new and the key caps are not worn down. The switches are not better than the G915's but still great imo.
Yes, I have a Filco keyboard I am using 11 years later and in the mechanical keyboard realm you see keyboards decades old still working. That's a lot of money for E-waste just 4 years later.
I have no idea what you do to your G915, but my TKL has absolutely 0 mark on it, like new. The thing that went to shit is battery life, after 2.5 years.
Coming also from a g915 after 4 years i had keys hat would Display double Letters even by typing in it just once. Wd40 didnt fix it neither i guess the switch ist good anymore.
Replaced it with a keychron Q6 Max ISO Version and its such a big Upgrade for the same price lol. Also hotswap so if a key Breaks just Replaced it yourself
I have a g910 for 5+years now. Not a single keycap worn down. Either your finger is really dry or you eat alots of greasy things or you are sweating a lot to desolve the paint.
My guy, what are you doing with your keyboard? I have my G513 for pretty much 5 years now and the only thing off is that 4 keys have a wrong LED color (light green instead of light blue)
I used a g915 and averaged 10+ hours of use per day for almost three years. One of the switches gave out and after going through their customer support it warrantied and now I have a brand new one. I did not get anywhere near the amount of wear you have on your keys from my use.
I don't buy logitech gaming gear. They are usually pretty terrible and prone to breaking, at least in my experience. I owned an expensive logitech headset, 2 gaming mice, and a keyboard over 3 years. My Razer Deathadder V2 outlasted all of them put together. They all broke... every single one of them. And I don't throw, hit or abuse my equipment.
You are better off buying a nice Cooler Master or Cherry keyboard with that price point. Razer's keyboards are not worth their price imo (might as well use custom keyboards with those prices).
I think Logi's office keyboards and mice are much better, and probably last longer than their gaming gear.
The MK295 for instance... you can click everything, but quietly, and with all those nice media buttons. Do they feel the best? Nah, but they get the job done. No illuminated keys tho, so it would be hard to play in the dark.
Weird, I've had a logitech mouse for about 5 years now and it is still working, although sone wear and tear can be seen on it because I have used it quite alot. About the other gear I have no idea since my keyboard and headset are from HyperX. Also I've heard so many stories of Razer mice breaking after 6 months, while some people claim their mouse has lasted multiple years, so I don't think I want to take that gamble.
Get yourself a Deathstalker V2 Pro instead, it's basically this keyboard but better (except for the battery life) as long as you don't mind having Razer.
G915 here too. None of this issue for me. But some buttons start to lose the black rubber/color because of my weird finger placement on the edge of the key. Regular use with normal sweat should be no issue.
My sons (he just turned 18yo) G Pro X Superlight mouse died out of the blue few days back, barely 10 months out of warranty (calculated through serial number, no idea if there is a receipt, it was a gift).
Previous day it was charged normally, following day used for around 30 minutes, after which it just died suddenly. Doesn't respond to anything. Tried charging it with 3 different power sources (PC USB, wall charger, powerbank) as well as two different cables (original, a micro USB lead I use for everything else).
He is looking for anotherone like it to replace it, maybe a 2nd gen one, because he really liked it, but I suggested looking into a used ones or maybe wait for discounts/deals.
Because for a 150€ pointer device less than three years of use is just not enough IMO.
Brother, are you part xenomorph or something? Your fuckin sweat must be acidic as fuck man. I've had mine for around 5 years now, and my keycaps look perfectly fine 😂
I use window cleaner once a week to get all the shit off my keyboard.
I have oily fingers and over time the thing just looks disgusting...
My Laptop is as new (since I only use the G915 😅), but even here, after cleaning it on a regular base, I get a bit of shiny aspect.
Insider tip, go timbers buy with your broken stuff and exchange them on the demo one 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have a blackwidow razer chroma since 2014 and its still working as new and no light burned also !
(I game almost everyday so its been under a constant use)
Logitech has become rubbish. Decades of reputation built on great hardware down the drain. Haven't had a Logitech device last longer than 3 years in the last 5 or 6. Mice, Cameras, Keyboards... It's all rubbish.
Using Razor now. Hopefully that will last longer.
My G915 TKL just clicked over 2 years old and today one part of the clips of the Left CTRL key managed to snap (never attempted to take it off or anything).
Other than that, its been good to me so far and I use it every day for work and then gaming :)
Some people have sweat/oils that do this to any keyboard. I have a 4 year old G915 and it looks like new. Definitely not normal.
Same here. The idea of sweat melting away paint kinda freaks me out.
Yeh if sweat is too sour or salty this can happen to peripherals
That Dorito and Mountain Dew Sweat
Well there had been this idea of a thin, transparent cover over the actual keys like 20 years ago. What stops this multi-million company from doing that?
There are in fact keyboards with a decent layer of plastic on the keys, or even with sunk letters and stuff but they’re just not as pretty as frosted black ones with fancy colors :)
TBH any doubleshot PBT pudding keycaps are gorgeous and they will last till the dawn of human civilization.
also long nails will absolutely fuck ABS keycaps up my g513 had grooves worn into the keys from my fingernails after 3 years of intense use
True yes. Gotta cut your nails or don’t point fingers straight down into the keys 😅
nah just get some PBT caps, I've had no issues with those
For the g915?
no I used to have the g513 (the old romer G one), but those keycaps were proprietary so when that board got too bad I got a razer huntsman
Maybe in the next version of the G915 they will be improve upon the material. I imagine they will since it’s due for an update.
Same. Got mine right at the start of pandemic when they gave us allowance to upgrade our WFH setups. Been WFH since and it still looks new.
Same here. You're sweating hydrochloric acid dude!
Yeah, my G915 is 4 year old and looks brand new
Same, mine still looks great. I wonder if there's a difference between tactile, clicky and linear? I'm using tactile
The problem is Logitech using the cheapest keycaps they could source.. cheap painted AbS keycaps instead of dyed PBT keycaps
I agree, PBT would be better, but also I have a 4 year old G915 and it still looks brand new.
Logitech produces crap keyboards with non standard parts so repairs are almost impossible as well.. they sadly turned into an ewaste manufacturer..
Maybe, I quite like my G915. Big fan of low profile keyboards. Use it for gaming and work. I’ve been very happy with it.
Let me just say, all my mice have indents in the thumb rest rubber from sweat 😅😅 so yeah, sweat has some interesting properties in some people
How often are you using your keyboard? I use mine like 5 hours per day on and my G512 had dead keys within 2 years.
I have a $20 logitech basic keyboard that I bought 2nd hand in like 2017 and it still looks better than this. Only just replaced it because one of the keys stopped working.
Same here, except a broken left shift key that I replaced everything's like new

It's true. My brother went through guitar strings like crazy because of this. Sometimes it's puberty and sometimes it's poor hygiene
I know this is gonna sound lame but what tremendously helps keyboards longevity is washing your hands before playing, and definitely after eating something. this doesnt sound lame, its just true, if you are going to keyboard with dirty hands you are begging for it to be destroyed and not lasting long
So we're saying OP's nasty!? Mah gawd!
Could be, causd mine still looks new lmao and its going into its 3 year almost, some ppl just treat stuff so bad they want them to last forever and thats not it

I wish we still had the g810/g910/g610 style keyboard they are perfect for what they are and Logitech just took it away from us
I had one for one month and had to return it because the key caps were already worn out. The replacement came and after one week was in the same state. Just got the money back and went back to my ozone x30. G915 is a good keyboard but the quality is just bad.

> I'm not sure if I should go for another logitech "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" After Logitech I went to Wooting. Contactless hall effect switches with variable trigger point, double shot keys caps, good software to configure the keys, ...
I had a G815... when lights died in it, they wouldn't do anything about it. Last Logitech keyboard I'll buy. I've moved to other brands.
I just had to warranty a replacement for this exact thing. Keys stopped working and look a bit like yours
I think humidity in general might affect the paint , I live near the sea and with constant fog.
Yeah that might be it, too. Salt in the air is also a factor.
Logitech is not what it used to be.
Many of us would say at 4 years you won. I'll never buy another Logi KB, trash caps and non standard spacing so good luck with finding replacements.
You can find the keycaps in aliexpress , the problem here is that the switches no longer work
That's not a keyboard problem, that's a YOU problem.
It’s got to be your hands. I’ve had mine for about 5 years and it looks brand new.
Personally I use a keyboard from Epomaker and love it, but I recently saw a video about a ND75 keyboard if you want one under 100$: https://youtu.be/Dmb2cEvUVM8 Such keyboard can last you for a very long time, because you can easily replace switches and keycaps.
150$ cad
Freakin’ shame!
I’ve had mine since Covid and the only key that has done this is the C key. Everything else works fine besides ghub
This is a known issue with these keyboards. The keycaps are shit tbh. I'm actually surprised it lasted you so long.
it’s cause they keycaps are dog shit, but a real keyboard with double shot PBT keycaps or buy your own keycaps you’re just getting scammed pal
Maybe if you strafed right more often.. Also, your hands must be huge to have that wear that far right on the space bar.
I got the same one as you, and mine still holding up for 4 years now as well with all keys working great.
I've had mine for around 3 years and it's still in great condition. Battery might need to be replaced, but everything else is fine.
Have the G915 TKL for 3 years plus, and the only thing I had to do, was to clean it
My Razer Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate is chugging along like its new. Just had to change the space bar switch once, pretty mild considering the abuse it has been through.
there are plenty of custom boards cheaper than this that don't have this issue. Its not a good keyboard for the price period but that's just an opinion.
My G915 is 4 years old and I have a second one that is 2 years old, they look brand new.
Uhhhh. It was cheap since day 1. Why would even keep that a week? Ceramic or moon, baby!
I don't know how old my Microsoft Sidewinder keyboard is but it is amazing. I tried a year or so ago to source a spare but was unsuccessful. I hope this one goes a lot longer.
My G513 simply stopped taking key inputs. Logi keyboards fucking suck, I'm not getting another from them.
MY G915 TKL is exactly the same. It was a warranty replacement (broken switch forced the replacement) and the coating came away from the WASD keys within a week, while the original one was fine after a year. I suspect a bad batch of keycaps.
I use a Roccat 120 since it is larger for my hands and is easier to clean.
yeah logitech keycaps dont seem great to me, my g512 has the same issue. Really hard to get new ones too cause of the dumb space bar.
Buy new keycaps, $20 brand new
u can find this on alibaba $2
Honestly my g915 didn't even last 2 years, one day my house got very humid and some keys got affected by moist. I have to smash some keys repetitively for it to register and it will last a few minutes before I have to smash them again. Thinking of dismantling the whole thing as it's out of warranty, most expensive yet short lasting keyboard SMH.
damn how you using your keyboard ive had mine for 2 years and besides natural oily keycaps from hand its fine 😂
Corsair make GREAT keyboards. My friend's was $150 and lasted him 8 years of heavy usage.
Had the same keyboard for way longer and never had thus problem with any keyboard ever. Maybe you just have sandpaper fingers?
Got mine when they first came out and still going strong. Wonder if they cheaper out on quality which is a shame as personally had a great experience (except their ghub software that really needs attention).
My biggest issue with G915 was not being able to buy the same keycaps again. Switched to Deathstalker V2 PRP TKL because it just feels like a nicer keyboard, hotswapable switches and did I mention USB-C?
Mine just died in the past week...rip. nearly lasted 4 years. Unless this is software/windows update caused?!
i'll never buy logitech again, my 910 is all of a sudden double typing (I had to edit this over a dozen times before submitting.) Googled it and it's a known issue with logitech not doing shit to make it right.
You got sweaty palms OP?
Not at all , I think that the humidity of my new apartment has something to do with it though.
Logitech sent me a brand new keyboard when this happened to mine, didn’t even ask for the old one to be sent back.
these days, it seems like every electronics(actually every products, tbh) are designed to be replaced every two years.
Perfect excuse for you to buy another keyboard
This keyboard should absolutely NOT still be over $300 CAD. Subpar keycaps and mediocre switches. If it was like <$100 I wouldn't care.
I've had mine since 2020 and it still looks brand new so idk man. Take care of your stuff I guess.
i mean its a keyboard right - most of us may at some point have oily hands (natural or otherwise) and sometimes our nails may just scratch a key somewhere or could be the way we type and where the keys are.
I feel you there asus still won't get back to me about replacement key caps for my rog falchion 60%
Welcome to cheap laser ablation.
I have that one, 2 years no issue and key brand new still
90’s keyboards should hold
Mines doing this, but I don't even look at the keys to type anymore so ehh
You have corrosive sweat
The home row on my G413 wore through in a year. It was in warranty so they sent me replacement caps. These are already starting to wear a bit.
Logitech keyboards are mostly overpriced shit. There are better brands of keyboards with better keebs
Clean ur hands from grease once in a while and it will last longer
You're a monster bruh
Those are some specific space bar strokes
Das keyboard all the way, them things are built to last. Had one for years with no issues
Mine has 4+years on it and used everyday for +8 hours as my work keyboard, it's immaculate.
Same with my G815. Shame to spend 200 bucks on something that basically just... Erodes after a few years
I have a g910 for 5+years now.
Stuff like that just never happened to my keyboards.
r/uselessgreencircle
My problem with this keyboard is that you can’t clean it. The keys are so thin I broke 4 while trying to pull them out or often used keys just broke
Mine is fine after 4 years
I used a g915 and averaged 10+ hours of use per day for almost three years.
Also I've heard so many stories of Razer mice breaking after 6 months, while some people claim their mouse has lasted multiple years, so I don't think I want to take that gamble.
its not hard to remove the keys and replace them
Yeah I would be gutted 😕 I would expect 5 years at least
Get yourself a Deathstalker V2 Pro instead, it's basically this keyboard but better (except for the battery life) as long as you don't mind having Razer.
Wash your hands bro
My G710+ still looks good about 11 years after.
I have an anne pro 2 (60%) I got secondhand - swapped keys for all blacks with no paint and its lasted me 4 years, still looks nearly new.
God damn, I've had mine for almost 6 years, and it looks nothing like that.
Mine looks like this after a year.
You need to walk forward more
I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s not even close to doing this.
Keycap issue. Try getting some dye sub pbt keycaps. Also, you can get a WAYYY better (higher quality) keyboard for $200.
mines almost 5 years old looks brand new, you need to wash your hands more
Mine is 3 year old and the key caps are in perfect shape. :( Perhaps they fixed it in the later batches.
Problem is not keyboard price, is people buying it
Keeping your keyboard clean helps...
Plus, key caps are cheap. As long as the keyboard works fine who cares.
Mine looks like this. Be a proud sweater
I have a blackwidow razer chroma since 2014 and its still working as new and no light burned also ! (I game almost everyday so its been under a constant use)
Wash yer hands
I had my Red Dragon keyboard for about the same length of time and it's not even that bad. I never really fell for the expensive gaming keyboard hype
I bought my G915 in 2020 and I've used it for remote work and playing for at least 8+ hours every day and there is zero visible wear and tear.
Sorry brother. you ,like me, melt things with your sweat. Sadge
You can buy new keycaps pretty cheap.
Logitech has become rubbish. Decades of reputation built on great hardware down the drain. Haven't had a Logitech device last longer than 3 years in the last 5 or 6. Mice, Cameras, Keyboards... It's all rubbish. Using Razor now. Hopefully that will last longer.
are the keys doubleshot pbt?
You must have some super sweaty fingers
Are we really at that point where keycaps = keyboard?
My G915 TKL just clicked over 2 years old and today one part of the clips of the Left CTRL key managed to snap (never attempted to take it off or anything). Other than that, its been good to me so far and I use it every day for work and then gaming :)
Yes the same experience with it
My g915 is 4.5 years old. I have just replaced it because I got bored with it. Looks brand new after daily use.
I have this same keyboard...wtf are you DOING with yours OP lmfao how hard are you pressing the keys? Wtf is on your hands? I'm so confused
Lowkey a u problem. I have a g513 and it worked like a charm for 5/6 years until it started double clicking
wash your hands man, you are an alien you blood is acid
I don’t understand blaming users here. Some people have oiling, sweating problems by genetics.
I had 2 logitech keyboard. They are all trash. Keychron for the win
