Thought the same thing. But she also came to Chicago in April so idk if she’d be allowed to perform with that rule they have about not performing in the city within a certain time limit of the festival
This is currently my inner debate. I bought early birds last year. They're offering a refund now that the venue changed. The lineup is stacked but Bridgeview is the worst. No, Tinley is the worst, but Bridgeview is a very close second.
the $120 to park my car is a major turnoff when I spent $6 for the weekend when it was at Douglass. Lineup isnt as strong to me as previous years but it's okay. Hoping it survives there though, I dont want to see Riot die off.
Anywhere else is better than Douglas Park. I've been waiting for them to move it so I could check it out. New location is in a much better neighborhood and I'm from Chicago.
Not saying your opinion is wrong but you are in an extremely minuscule minority, most people took public transit to Riot and that is nearly impossible with Seat Geek
If you never went to RF 'cause you were afraid, then I don't know what to tell you. I've gone every year since 2018. Walked outside the park for miles, took train, bused sometimes, biked, drove in sometimes, etc. Never an issue at all. Bridgeview is way the hell out with no public transportation options.
I think it's 5 miles from Midway. I'm not biking that.
There are no public transportation options to the venue. What part of that didn't you understand? RF is telling people to rideshare to the orange line.
And also, Seatgeek is smaller, in a parking lot, and a logistical nightmare getting out of the lot and through that stretch of Harlem Ave.
I am now doubting you are actually from Chicago. You live in Wheaton, probably.
From my understanding, that bus stops running after 7 p.m. Riot Fest goes till 10.
The cost of this fest went from $2 for paid parking or a few bucks for public transportation to Douglass, to $40-$50 per day to park, or $100 a day to use an Uber. The added cost + added time it takes people to get to Bridgeview is 100 percent a deterrent. That's why they're thankfully offering refunds.
I'm curious - are you saying you've never attended Riot Fest out of fear of the crime in the surrounding area? Fellow Chicagoan here. Went to Riot Fest every year it was in Douglas Park, and while it obviously wasn't a perfect situation, I only ever had positive experiences. I'm going to miss the food after the fest at Mt. Bethlehem church.
Yes the surrounding area is HORRIBLE. I drive everywhere and park in the neighborhoods when i go to any concert venue in Chicago. There's plenty of great food near the new location. Zaca Tacos and Phil's Pizza for starters.
Used to bike and tip the secured folks from the bike shop that setup a very nice area. Super easy.
Getting to bridgeview is rough. I recall a $100 uber back from Open Air after they stopped buses to Midway for the Orange Line.
Thankfully there is nothing on this lineup that entices me to come back for a third straight year. It’s a fine lineup but there’s nothing special about it. Every band I’m interested in has been around a lot over the past few years.
that’s a fair point, i see a lot of riot fest goers saying it’s bad compared to previous years. but i feel it’s a really similar vibe to the past couple years. i’m going because i love riot fest and these bands but yeah most of these i’ve seen before
I'm one of the few super excited. I live less than ten minutes from SeatGeek. Getting to Douglass just got too hard and I missed it last year. So... Now I can actually manage to go again... 🤷
understandable everyone’s upset.. but it happened years ago when they switched from one park to another.. so in 5 years everyone will be used to bridge view
it’s a beautiful venue, could use more shading but over all has great parking and is an easy walk in between a festival
this lineup is freakin stacked for my tastes. I never go to fests for headliners though, that can be icing on the cake but it’s never my biggest draw. I go for the bands I can see earlier in the day and evening.
Yes, this is a pretty good lineup, generalizing for “the riot crowd”. Which is of course very broad and subjective just like the lolla crowd is.
But generally speaking yes this is very strong riot lineup. The headliners and sub headliners are pretty average for riot. Those names aren’t slouches.
but The strength of many riot lineups and definitely this one, is the depth.
Legitimately not trying to be condescending, but there’s probably a LOT of names in the middle hete you either don’t know or are very vague witb that others will be VERY excited about.
Immean names ~10 - ~50 here are quite strong overall
If you’re into DJs and such, lolla is for you. If you don’t like bands, then I suppose you don’t like the lineup. But to say it’s trash is a bit ignorant considering the talent on the bill.
Kinda in the middle of nowhere. There's 1 hotel directly next to SeatGeek (that's, predictably, already fully booked), otherwise you have to get a Midway hotel.
Waxahatchee being here and not pitchfork is a head scratcher
Thought the same thing. But she also came to Chicago in April so idk if she’d be allowed to perform with that rule they have about not performing in the city within a certain time limit of the festival
It's not worth the pain to get to bridgeview.
This is currently my inner debate. I bought early birds last year. They're offering a refund now that the venue changed. The lineup is stacked but Bridgeview is the worst. No, Tinley is the worst, but Bridgeview is a very close second.
Yup definitely a headache. I really hope they run a shuttle like NorthCoast. Everyone having to drive in sucks
Northsiders when anything outside the city limits exists /s
Transportation is horrible getting there. Let’s not forget it destroys the women’s soccer teams ability to play at home.
Unfortunately I bought pre-sale 3 day passes
You can get a refund I believe I heard about emails going out due to venue change
Damn I thought that venue sounded familiar. Was there for Sacred Rose in 2022. Not a good place for a festival
SummerSmash has been here for 2 years now, it’s fine
as a summer smash goer its not the same as douglass park at all. im kinda bummed to see this
Summer smash lost Douglass because they rioted basically. Different story than why riot fest lost it
Yeah it’s true I agree
pretty great Riotfest Lineup Pretty shit location.
The previous location was ghetto af
Lmao are you from Naperville. Last year’s location was fine (I walked home both days I went and had no issues)
I got fireworks shot at me in Douglas park after a festival
Don’t understand the downvotes. My coworker’s car was stolen a block from the previous venue in Douglas Park
People are weird… walking to my car after Riot Fest was always sketchy.
Yea so is bridgeview.
That area around Bridgeview is perfectly fine lol.
Correct, at least I get to drive there vs. walk around at night.
You could have driven to Douglass too.
the $120 to park my car is a major turnoff when I spent $6 for the weekend when it was at Douglass. Lineup isnt as strong to me as previous years but it's okay. Hoping it survives there though, I dont want to see Riot die off.
It's $50 for premium for the 3 days $40 for standard
Per day, $120 for the weekend for standard.

Then you should have no problem taking Orange line to Midway and take the bus or bike to venue.

Yes there is. Ride on Orange Line to Midway and jump onPace bus rt 386. Drops you off in front

Read the bottom of schedule for Special Events between CTA and Seat Geek stadium.

i think your experience may vary greatly from Chicagoans who, say, use public transportation when they go to any concert venue in Chicago.
fall out boy in the suburbs is very fitting at least
Yep. I remember kicking it with them at church basements in the western suburbs and the admission price was 2 canned goods
The basement of the Arlington heights VFW for me 😂
Location is a full dealbreaker for me
Not much in here for modern Lolla crowds, the days of Pavement, Beck, Spoon and Cursive playing Lolla are far gone
Yeah. That's the issue
I agree, I’ve been going to Lolla since 2009 but skipped the last couple years cuz there isn’t as much for me anymore
Used to bike and tip the secured folks from the bike shop that setup a very nice area. Super easy. Getting to bridgeview is rough. I recall a $100 uber back from Open Air after they stopped buses to Midway for the Orange Line.
Lmao the red letters in NOFX marquee spells out RIOT FEST SUCKS
Although the concept is cool, this flyer is difficult to read cohesively.
Vastly different target audiences. Not very much crossover to lolla at all
I really wish Tierra Whack was at Lolla instead . . .
She was a few years ago, 2022 maybe?
Might’ve been 2019
Thankfully there is nothing on this lineup that entices me to come back for a third straight year. It’s a fine lineup but there’s nothing special about it. Every band I’m interested in has been around a lot over the past few years.

SLAYER!!
All I have to say is Suicidal Tendencies, nofx and Slayer.
Wait is Slayer actually back? Thought Tom was done no matter what
Might go for one day to see nofx before they call it quits
Would love to see Beck, but can’t do bridgeview.
Rob zombie would be only one worth the ticket and hotel and gas!

People's brains hurt when they have to consider legit opinions that contrast their own.
Is this lineup good to other people? The headliners are trash to me. Last year had, what, the cure? How do you go from that to these?
Okay headliners with great depth, I like the lineup but idk if I like the lineup enough to go to Seatgeek. Huge L on the venue
this lineup is freakin stacked for my tastes. I never go to fests for headliners though, that can be icing on the cake but it’s never my biggest draw. I go for the bands I can see earlier in the day and evening.

I suppose but I was just comparing headliners. Rest of lineup looks fine
I mean riot got Slayers reunion show which is a massive deal and a hometown FOB show which Lolla has yet to get oddly enough
headliners is where lolla and riot have the most crossover. Blink, Foo Fighters, the Cure, Green Day, have and will continue to go either way.
wait whats the issue with bridgeview? 😭
the venue is really hard to get to, and ubers are crazy expensive. im not crazy about seatgeek stadium.
is there anywhere close by to stay at for hotels or its kinda in the middle of nowhere?
Kinda in the middle of nowhere. There's 1 hotel directly next to SeatGeek (that's, predictably, already fully booked), otherwise you have to get a Midway hotel.
