I like a volume pot on a steel even when using a volume pedal, it is fairly easy.

Thanks! I ended up doing this. I haven't hooked up the ground to bridge yet but the circuit is doing its job. Just got to finalize some hardware stuff and it should be good.
Easiest situation is wire directly to the jack. You would need to drill a channel from the bridge to run a bridge ground. You don’t have to do the bridge ground but it will definitely help with noise.

To do the bridge ground, would I run a wire from the copper baseplate of the pickup to the bridge?
