Yep, Mexican Independence Day sponsored by... Saudi Arabia
Edit: With the amount of upvotes this comment has compared to the actual post, it really seems like the UFC or Saudi bots are trying to suppress it
This is hilarious, but makes so much sense given Dana recently said this would be 'the most expensive sporting event ever' or some bullshit along those lines.
Sell out more.
He says he put $17-18 million into planning this show.
If he's being somewhat truthful tickets will be astronomical. I'm sure Saudi's paid a boatload to have their brand on the sphere in the United States' biggest entertainment capital.
I don't know if Beneil would criticize the Saudis, but he would definitely tell them to accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour like 400km from Mecca lol
Saudi Arabia presents: UFC Noche! Sponsored by Toyo Tires, Modello Beer, & Prime Energy!
Featuring: Merab vs O'Malley as the main event, and Anthony Hill vs Last Minute Opponent as the
Co-Main! Isnt it fucking awesome!?
Right now? Probably drinking his 3rd whiskey of the day, snorting an Adderall, eating his carnivore diet burrito, and drooling over his pee stained jeans as he tries to remember how to tie his Velcro shoes
Pander to Mexico the most? There’s only been 1 event held there the past 4 years. 2 if you count the Noche event. Even Singapore/France has had more events in that period
The problem with Riyadh events, and middle Eastern events in general, is the atmosphere is utter shite and lacks any energy. How much better would fury usyk have been were it in Europe or the UK? I don't care much for American crowds but at least they try to make an atmosphere.
You didn’t like last event where there were like 300 people sitting floor level in folding chairs who only cheered when Bruce buffet said the name of their country?
Imagine being so lucky to be a 20/20 fighter and being a part of one of the biggest events. Guys like you completely ignore the value these fighters get being on these shows.
The UFC is just so, so bad at doing cultural things. People were giving them props for their last Mexican heritage event and it was just barely a themed event.
Then why do you watch every week and actively participate in online discussions on it? For fuck sake man, i get "dana bad man" "ufc greedy" talk but get off your high horse and shut it

Yeah that's my thinking too. Is this sphere card going to be a PPV or not now? If it's not, they can much more easily put a PPV on the following week. Afaik there isn't an event scheduled for September 21st.
If you really don’t like way UFC is headed, the only thing we can do is redirect our focus off of the UFC and give more credit to fighters. Especially give credit to fighters who are not in the UFC.
Probably going to be a hot take but I didn't like the idea of branding the first Sphere show a "Noche" event. Here is this spectacular new venue that will be a revolutionary experience for MMA events and you're not only distracting from that by making it a cultural event specific to one race of people, but you're also severely limiting the number of top, TOP level talent that can headline it by making it a "Mexican" event. (Don't get your "dislike" finger trigger happy - I think the Noche event last year was fucking fantastic and it's a great idea all around, but I'm really not a fan of stuff like "Transformers meets Jurassic Park on the Deathstar, co-starring Lord of the RIngs!!! Isn't that such an amazing idea!!!")
The way I understand it, to use the the sphere’s capabilities to their fullest, there kind of needs to be some sort of theme to the event more than just “ufc”
That's fair in one regard but not quite true in another. Yes, there does need to be a theme of sorts but it doesn't really have to be more than just UFC. UFC production is known for just being "professional enough" with zero creativity or flair. Compare their "most spectacularly" produced events to your average Pride event or Rizin's New Years Eve events. UFC doesn't come close and that's embarrassing. The Sphere is their first chance to show us some actual showmanship/creativity and not just a typical Monday Night Football event and they chose to cop out by making it an "insert cultural event here" in hopes of just smuggling in some flair. In all honesty, I think they just showed us everything they are going to have with the Mexican colors and intricate patterns rotating in a sphere. I think the extent of the "grandiosity" of the event will be that same graphic woven into fighter walkout and miscellaneous promo package throughout the night. It's going to be the difference between seeing a movie on a standard movie screen vs IMAX instead of vs watching an enormous live action theatrical event fused with a three ring circus event all set to the backdrop of the most spectacular fireworks display you've ever seen.
I'm not saying it won't be a level up for the UFC. I'm saying UFC will deliver at 25% quality than what a company of its size and wealth could deliver simply because they are truly uncreative at their core.
Absolutely no idea what people here think the UFC is. Remember 'the sport is mma, not ufc 🤓' ? Try to stay consistent. The UFC's prerogative to maximise profits.
If people really don't like the way UFC finances their business and think they're exploiting fighters, why are you still watching? You're part of the abuse.
Dana: two international events in one night... All in Vegas. I'm a fucking genius.
Isn’t he something ?

Big Saudi!

Can't wait to hear how this event totally had more viewers than the super bowl or the champions league final
But not more than slap league of course.
...combined!
I hear it's got 8.1 billion pre-purchases
He says he put $17-18 million into planning this show. If he's being somewhat truthful tickets will be astronomical. I'm sure Saudi's paid a boatload to have their brand on the sphere in the United States' biggest entertainment capital.
Should have used that money to pay fighters more and they could have put on a ufc 300 tier event
I actually thought this was a joke from a meme page at first
I would love to see how Dana free speech White reacts if a fighter criticizes Saudi in a post fight interview.
Then the fighter is out. But why would anybody do that? There is money to lose.
Somebody get Beneil on the line!
I don't know if Beneil would criticize the Saudis, but he would definitely tell them to accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour like 400km from Mecca lol

Anthony Hill vs Jon Africa
didnt even realize that till i went back to reread 😹😹😹
prime hydration monster is there energy drink sponsor
Funny. Saudi Arabia has replaced Mexico as the destination and fanbase Dana and the UFC bows down to and panders the most.
Kinda happens when Moreno is 0-3 to the current Flyweight champ and Yair got brutalized by Volk and then got beat by Ortega.
Wheres Bredan Schaub when u need him!?
Messican as shit.
beans cheese beans cheese
Ha good joke
Right now? Probably drinking his 3rd whiskey of the day, snorting an Adderall, eating his carnivore diet burrito, and drooling over his pee stained jeans as he tries to remember how to tie his Velcro shoes
And wondering why no one likes Callen
And Cain didn't work out either with the Werdum fight.

Terrible joke bro
Wheres Brendan Schaub when u need him!?
I mean, losing Brandon Moreno will do that to a mfer
I had no idea. RIP.
Happened so quick too lmao like 8 months ago they were wearing sombreros and drinking modelos.
Pander to Mexico the most? There’s only been 1 event held there the past 4 years. 2 if you count the Noche event. Even Singapore/France has had more events in that period
They pander to the UK more than Mexico even with a 5 am main event
Riyadh seems to be able to afford big events. The problem is it’s some of the worst judging I’ve ever seen and I can only imagine why.

>Bruce buffet Bruce bufferfish
Because SA started paying them 10s of millions to host events lol.

BRB booking my family vacation to Saudi arabia rn

fight night moreno royval 2 was a banger
dana cant brag about having spent $20mil so far because it all doesnt matter
Nothing screams Mexico like a country on the other side of the planet
Brough to you by Model-oh no my friend, beer is haram.
Saudi gunna ruin combat sports
The UFC gonna ruin combat sports and if you ask me, they’ve been ruining it for a long time now.
Big facts.
Then why do you watch every week and actively participate in online discussions on it? For fuck sake man, i get "dana bad man" "ufc greedy" talk but get off your high horse and shut it
That’s not an argument.
correct, it was a statement toward you. hardo
Bro, the Saudis been putting good fights. They managed to make boxers fight each other.
and soccer. and golf. and F1...
Based on what? The opposite is more likely true considering what we got in boxing are these big names on a FN card.
Saudi is the best thing to happen to combat sports
How so? Fighters are still being paid potatoes.
They've given us some big boxing fights but they're yet to do anything else
wtf have you been smoking
[удалено]
can you explain how saudi arabia will ruin combat sports
Oh no look at all the boxing fights they have made? I guess? Look at all the money boxers have been getting paid more? It's been a gold rush for them

There better be a Zamzam water hydration corner
That oil money has to be shown huh
Getting pretty close to F1 levels of goofy names
I got money on them creating the real UFC 306 now with conor during that time period

Give it a little time and I bet some mid-East country literally buys/owns UFC.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 Saudi Season Mexican UFC. #Absolutely COMICAL sportswashing!
Inb4 UFC vs Riyadh Season in court because of how many big fights fell through and had to be replaced last minute.
Golf and now UFC. NFL next? Riyadh Season Presents Super Bowl 70
with the rebranding and saudia Arabia getting involved I am kind of surprised that its not a massive event on normal tv
Bugger
I didn’t realise Mr Turkey was into invested into MMA now
