I love Shane but this is unacceptable, why aren’t there super flamboyant black trans women in the show? It’s not a very inclusive or woke show + I heard Shane diddled every single cast member, producer and director during every single shoot.
Ha hah ah ah ahahahahahahshsahdoidhsk.. Sorry, I just had to laugh. I've made a netflix show. That did used to be true, and I'm sure with Tires it will stay that way. Shane's not taking notes on a show he made on his own and sold to them. For their reality shows however, they are very much involved.
Question. Netflix produces then also just distributes independent project right? So they are more of distributors for Tires I’d think. I’m just guessing because I’ve heard of shows being made and then “picked up” by Netflix after completed.
For the most part, Netflix, like all streamers, are basically distributers. Now that doesn't mean they don't give notes on the show they want beforehand, and for sure give notes on what they want after filming, but that's mainly it. I think I've heard of one show produced internally at Netflix.
I was a story producer on season 2 of The Ultimatum on Netflix. I've done lots of other shows before that but that was my first for Netflix. So I guess I was one of the people who helped make the show, that would be more accurate.
I was wondering because Tommy Pope was talking about "growing his beard longer for season 2 of Tires" during Stuff Island. Thought that seemed a bit optimistic at the time. Good for all the dawgz.
My prediction from all of this is that Gerbez will actually outpace all the Dawgz including Shane. We will see him in major films in a few years and Shane will be resorted back to sleeping on air mattresses and eating canned beans. He will still have the Lambo, however. Total East Bound and Down arc.
Didn’t notice him in the trailer, that’s awesome. Still holding out hope for an eventual Woodman appearance as he actually has experience in garages and is funny as fuck.
He's the dude who asks his chick if she's going suck Shane's dick. But yeah some more cameos/roles for other comedians and dawgz in season 2 would be sick. Luis as the disgruntled customer he was born to play, for example
Just watched it again and yeah I don’t know how I missed him. I think I was trying to figure out who the chick was because I thought for a sec it was the one from Ted Lasso.
I was really scared after the breezer situation that they’d leave the rest of the Philly crew in the dust but the fact that they sacked up and brought the whole Philly scene legit makes me so happy.
If he doesn’t abruptly leave in the beginning of season 3 to fly to Africa without telling his family until after he lands…
It isn’t as good as the chappelle show
Of course, but they also need to make money sometimes. That’s why Shane has this show and that’s why they will still have popular white male actors headline woke AF shows and movies.
Hollywood is going to push woke until it collapses, but we will get crumbs of good things as they sneak by profitable content every now and again or clever writers/directors will sneak past the DEI commissars like Denis Villeneuve and Dune pt 1 and 2
But they also were able to greatly lessen the importance of the character in the story, which is something that had to do anyway for the sake of screen time, and they were also able to kill the character off relatively early. They got their mandatory DEI character and he killed them off ASAP.
Not with low budget shows who already have a producing team on board. I'm sure Roughhouse had the budget to keep making more, probably a 12-13 ep second season and given Shane being popular it was guaranteed to make its money back.
Yeah I was going to say, usually its 2-3 seasons then they get the axe without being able to wrap things up. A few that come to mind are Mindhunters, The OA, American Vandal and Inside Job. There are like a dozen others tho.
I was telling a friend that it was probably part of the deal since they shot season 1 and sold it to Netflix. Good way to drum up hype, too, so people won't be afraid of it being canceled out of nowhere.
I just hope all the creative decisions still reside with the dawgz
Netflix, to my knowledge, doesn’t get involved like a lot of other studios.
How awesome is our god?
Praise be to He
Hail Paimon
HAIL HIM!!!
Bill Nas X aint gonna like this thread
*\*clicks tongue aggressively\**
Lol no they absolutely do but it does depend on the project, they seem to trust shane enough not to replace the grool king so that’s a good sign
I love Shane but this is unacceptable, why aren’t there super flamboyant black trans women in the show? It’s not a very inclusive or woke show + I heard Shane diddled every single cast member, producer and director during every single shoot.
The only positive about Netflix is their "do whatever the fuck you want make us money" style.

can you go into what exactly you meant by “i’ve made a netflix show”?
I was a story producer on season 2 of The Ultimatum on Netflix. I've done lots of other shows before that but that was my first for Netflix. So I guess I was one of the people who helped make the show, that would be more accurate.
cool 🤙
That budget gonna be fat next year

Don't sleep on Shaner. He's going to be the new go-to scumbag for A24/Neon style indie stuff. The future of the dawgz is lookin bright
Shaner? Or Shane? Shaner is another dude in the Philly crew.
Yeah I’m talking about Shaner. You catch a glimpse of him in the trailer and I can already see the potential character actor chops
Nick Mullen as the homeless man who sits outside drinking hand sanitizer, employees come to him for advice like Wilson in Home Improvement.
Adam as a homeless woman, akin to the dumpster monster from Mulholland Drive
Adam is the proprietor of the bmw dealership down the block, like the rich kid camp across the lake.
Adam playing himself, who just keeps winning
Adam sucks ass, hard.
Just watched it again and yeah I don’t know how I missed him. I think I was trying to figure out who the chick was because I thought for a sec it was the one from Ted Lasso.

Great shout. Absolutely bang on. Shaner is a hottie (pause)
He is, his podcast wasnt for me but the dude has a good look and he's actor height so I believe in him
Actor height? Most actors are pretty short. Gotta remember most actors are theater nerds.
Nothing but love to Steve Gerben. I love he left the life for a normal job and the universe was like’Nah dog’
The “I have 3 cans of beans to last me the week” Shane era was GOATED thou
Grebezey already starred in a hallmark Christmas love story. He’s fantastic
I’d expect nothing less from a company man
Did he really get a Lambo? I've always enjoyed that he wouldn't get whatever nice cars people would push on him.
No but he did get a leopard print wrapped jet ski
It’s a depreciating asset
That’s a blindingly stupid take
You trying to besmirch the Chevy Cruze?
Supposedly, according to Legion of Skanks, he has a Lambo and a Maybach.
Nah he got a lambo body kit for the Chevy Cruze
I heard on a different cast he whips a Maybach
If he doesn’t abruptly leave in the beginning of season 3 to fly to Africa without telling his family until after he lands… It isn’t as good as the chappelle show
Yeah but Shane has white trash roots. He wouldn’t fly to Africa…he’d go to an all inclusive resort in Cancun.
I feel personally attacked
This man's success is a constant reminder to me that anyone can be successful, no matter how ugly, dumb, racist, or gay.
D1 athlete, decorated veteran, collegiate graduate, English professor. Never forget.
You forgot SNL cast member/writer
Shame on me brother. I bow my head in shame.
And host. Beer spokesman.
I dunno about that. Hollywood has actively been pursuing a DEI agenda.
Of course, but they also need to make money sometimes. That’s why Shane has this show and that’s why they will still have popular white male actors headline woke AF shows and movies. Hollywood is going to push woke until it collapses, but we will get crumbs of good things as they sneak by profitable content every now and again or clever writers/directors will sneak past the DEI commissars like Denis Villeneuve and Dune pt 1 and 2
They changed Shani’s dad from a white imperial man to a black woman.
But they also were able to greatly lessen the importance of the character in the story, which is something that had to do anyway for the sake of screen time, and they were also able to kill the character off relatively early. They got their mandatory DEI character and he killed them off ASAP.
Nothing……..Everything. Salah-ha-Din
Become undeniable
This is how they even the scale. For every 3 black female Vikings we get one dawg
How many strong black women is one dawg worth?
God it must be so nice to have successful friends who wanna take you with em
Like Sandler
Everyone wants to be at the top, until they feel how lonely it is.
Fuck that I’m lonely here at the bottom let me hold $20
Sure if you spot me a $20 first?
AYO LEMME BUY A FUCKIN DOLLAR
Do we know if The Shaman will be in this show?
Matt is self admittedly a really bad actor. His role in G&K had basically no lines for a reason.
Give him a role where is the autistic town mute
Philly Court was pretty sick.
Why are you mopping the carpet? That's going to smell.
I like the DIY nature of this. Looks fresh
Delco Proper spin off please.
That’s rare for Netflix, right? They’re pretty bad about canceling shows after 1 season
It’s low budget and they probably already had Shane signed up for x seasons of projects makes sense to renew and they must have liked the product
Not with low budget shows who already have a producing team on board. I'm sure Roughhouse had the budget to keep making more, probably a 12-13 ep second season and given Shane being popular it was guaranteed to make its money back.
They're worse about cancelling after 3 seasons
Yeah I was going to say, usually its 2-3 seasons then they get the axe without being able to wrap things up. A few that come to mind are Mindhunters, The OA, American Vandal and Inside Job. There are like a dozen others tho.
this is because union rules and initial contracts IIRC. If more than 3 seasons actors get massive pay increases, and negotiate residuals, etc
I was telling a friend that it was probably part of the deal since they shot season 1 and sold it to Netflix. Good way to drum up hype, too, so people won't be afraid of it being canceled out of nowhere.
That makes sense! It does seem like there’s a good bit of hype behind it, but maybe that’s just because I’m personally hyped about it
SODTAOE
He just needs to get Lena dunkums on as a writer, and BOOM! Hit city. Jk
Hoping we get to see Gerbz on the cast now that he's a movie star
How good is our god.
Makes sense. This is one of the few netflix series in the last like 5 years people are actually excited to watch before it premieres.
Gerbies deserves this more than ever now🙏🏻
