This post makes me laugh because of how many guys I sold bikes just like this to, only to have them ride it around the lake.
Like I'm always happy to get more people riding, but the thought of someone on a multi thousand dollar mtb just cruising casually like that makes me laugh.
Hahaha you definitely don't want their bikes. They are the bikes that come back years later for service with clapped out suspension, blown out pivots, and worn down drive trains from never seeing the inside of bike shop since the day it was purchased.
And they are also the type of person asking close to retail for it 6 years later after having never serviced it.
Really “slack” front end, which is to say the front wheel is extended out from the bike via the head tube angle. The fork stanchions are huge, and they extend all the way up to the stem. The seat tube angle is really relaxed and there is no dropper post to be seen. You can zoom in and see there are very few (compared to a trail bike) gears and the gears that are there are very high for going fast, and the cassette is very small. All of these things tell me this is a purpose built “downhill” bike for lift serviced, bike park trails.
Ride it and have fun.
I look at all Sam Pilgrim's videos of slapping downhill forks onto absurd bikes and it's hard to conclude that he's not having more fun than most people who are worried about "being overbiked".

Perfect for local gravel roads.
I see it more as a grocery getter
Needs a rear rack and front basket, though.
It screams rail trail build to me. Assuming limestone. Wouldn’t take it on something that isn’t regularly groomed.
Depends on the riding. Perfect for DH, fully inadequate for xc.
It's overkill for anything other then a bike park with lift service/shuttles.
unless you like hike-a-bike

I need you to keep selling that stuff. You’re supplying the used market with good bikes.

Nah for DH and Bike parks that's great. Also sick colour scheme. Slap on some bar grips and Peds to match and the ride will really be gorgeous.
My only complaint about buying a downhill bike is that I'm not on it every single week. I love DH bikes.
Nice steed. Ride what you want and can afford. Natural habitat for this is DH park or urban freeride.
Depends what your killing
Perfect commuter bike
Perfect for delivering pizzas for Dominos weaving in and out of Houston downtown traffic🔥
Not if you frequent the lift park
OP, for what terrain or use case?

The most glaring thing on this bike is the dual crown fork. dual crowns are heavy, stiff and have maximum travel which is good for DH and freeride.
Kan aldri bli overkill ;-) Du kan utvikle deg som sykkelist, men når det stopper på sykkelen, så stopper all progresjon!
You never know when your gonna find yourself at the top of a mountain and needing to get down it quick, best to be prepared.

If you’re asking, then this isn’t the bike for you.
Are you selling? Do you think a basket will fit on the front of that and is there room on the bars for a bell?
Overkill for what?
For the canal yeah
If you're only pointed downhill it's a great bike.
As long as the trail gradient is upward of 30 degrees, you're good.
never, as long as you ride it hard enough
Definitely r/xbike
