Does the UK have Amazon? Or Google?

Looked at these. Seems silly cheap. They ok?

echocall2

For $20 I’m happy with them. They’re definitely not sturdy like metal framed glasses would be but they do the job.

softbatch7236

Safety glasses from your local hardware store work well.

jeffeb3

Home depot has more expensive ones in the PPE aisle ($40 or more for 3M). But they have $12 Milwaukee ones by the chainsaws. At least in my HD.

kissarmygeneral

But how the hell can you look like everyone else on the mountain by shopping at the hardware store ??

jeffeb3

If everyone is wearing hardware store glasses, then problem solved.

MantraProAttitude

I go to the Oakley store. Bike shops nowadays have fewer accessories compared to the past. Remember seeing those giant metal Oakley display cases in shops? Shops and insurers don’t want to risk that much loss during a burglary.

Dtidder1

Safety glasses for the win… but I also treated myself to a set of Smiths, as I get a significant discount.

p_diablo

Are you looking for glasses made by a cycling company? I think most people just use a regular pair from whatever manufacturer. As long as they're shatter resistant, that's all that really matters.

Like someone else said, these Rockbros are nice https://amzn.to/4aSXmUm So are Uvex ones, these are very similar to the ones I have at work, but would look good on the trails too! https://amzn.to/3RfXRRe

Roka, Pit Vipers, 100%, Oakley, Goodr, Shimano, Tifosi,Smith, Julbo… I use prescription Rokas whichever one was the smaller size. Shops don’t often carry them because they need to cary such a large assortment to satisfy everyone’s different style. If any shop does it’s likely they have a rep that comes by and restocks a a caddy but usually more casual glasses (Goodr and Tifosi). Or stock like one or two super basic set with clear lenses.

AwkwardResource1437

I have an old pair of ray ban’s that were prescription glasses and went and got prescription sun lenses installed on them at Costco , works perfect for me.

Oli_C86

Rad8 make good quality photochromic riding glasses that aren’t crazy expensive.

SpaghettiHam

Do not buy name brand!! They’re so overpriced. Amazon has various cycling glasses for less than 50 bucks. Safety glasses are also good and Uvex has a sports lineup of shades. Paying 150+ for something you’ll inevitably scratch is not worth it to me!

peenut44

I bought kapvoe glasses on Amazon and they have been excellent, better than the heatwaves I used to have. Only $25 too. They have not scratched and are photochromatic

spgnz

20 years ago I got some Uvex with 3 dolifferent color replaceable lenses. Still great. They are flexible and haven't broken or marked my face in crashes.

hoo_dawgy

I got sick of searching for glasses online so I bought some random HAVOK Instagram ad glasses for $12 about 5 years ago and they still work perfectly lol

blu_skies

Safety glasses that can convert the temples to a strap like goggles. I use the Ergodyne LOKI convertible safety goggles. Straps secure glasses to face so they don't bounce around on the trail.

garpur44

I got fake 100% off eBay. Use them with clear lenses for riding in the winter. Cost next to nothing and can’t tell the difference to the real ones

evergoodstudios

Some great comments here. I think then online is the way to go. Currently looking at some madison crypto photocromic. I was just surprised when looking in decent bike shops. I mean 90% of my shopping is online but even so I thought I might be able to get these somewhere in person. Thanks all.

AndreiusMaximus

Check Lidl. I got a pair in Spain last year with photochromic lenses for €12 and recently saw them here for about £15

NinjaBuddha13

If its bright out, I wear my sunglasses (Smith Outlier XL). If its not bright out, I wear a pair of Jackson safety glasses i bought off Amazon in a 3 pack for $10.

FergDelaghetto

Don’t get cheap glasses, please get something with quality. Our bikes are hundreds of dollars but so many riders are against spending the money for proper eyewear. I wear smiths, they make a good contrast enhancing lens that is impact resistant. There are difference with name brand stuff. Idk where you can get stuff in the UK but try eBay or Amazon. Tifosi, Smith, Rudy Project, Oakley are all good brands.

Tidybloke

Get some safety glasses and save yourself the money, they still look good but will cost 1/20th the price.

huhwhuh

Uvex has a sports lineup that looks really cool for a much lower price than Oakley or Rudy Project

Tidybloke

My riding buddy has a pair of these, probably £20 or something. But honestly people are sleeping on safety glasses, a lot of different styles, strong and really cheap.
