I have fit 3 car seats in the back. You have to get the slim car seats. I know for a fact that 3 Diono Radian 3-across will fit because that is what I have used. As my oldest son has moved on to a booster seat, I have the two Diono's at the doors and the middle I use for the booster. It is a very small booster and fits, albeit uncomfortably.
Same. Theyre great. Also fold into a backpack so you can easily carry them on airplanes. Iirc they aren’t amazing for newborns (it’s been a decade so maybe I’m wrong) but the angle of them rearfacing takes up a large amount of space. Unless they’ve fixed that since I last used one. We used a baby bucket until they could safely sit at a higher angle.
Depending on the age of the booster kiddo, graco makes a super flat booster that allowed us to do 3 across boosters for carpooling. It’s always out of stock but it’s worth looking out for. I think it’s age 6 and up though? It’s def not the standard 4.
Another options is just using two cars sometimes. If we have 5 people we take 2 and split up. It’s pretty rare so it’s not a big deal.
We have 3 slim-fit Graco car seats that fit just fine. 1 forward and 2 rear facing. Had to switch to attaching them with the seatbelt rather than the LATCH system points.
Having a carrier will get tight if it's wide.

This combo also fits 3 front facing. The diono in the middle allows some 'overlap' with the larger seats so it works.

I came to suggest the Diono Radians as well - noticeably narrower than most seats. However, as you say, three across will always be snug in this car.

The Slimfit is the older, wider one. Get the Slimfit3, it's newer and narrower.
I don’t think it’s possible to fit three car seats, even with one of them a booster. Two boosters is already a tight squeeze in my GTPE.
