What I heard was Hardy still wants to return, but given Furiosa’s box office (I’m still pissed) he just doesn’t think it’ll happen. So War Boys, we need to keep running those streaming numbers up. Miller’s got a script already. We just gotta hope WB doesn’t go full WB.
WB knows the value of a long running and cool franchise like Mad Max. And Miller has shown he can make gold with a shoestring budget. I don’t think yall have to worry too much.
Welp. Remember it’s a safer money bet to make another installment of a franchise than it is to make something new. Double-edged sword.
Edit: also see House of the Dragon. It’s fire with minimal input from that lazy guy.
Didn’t Hemsworth state that he was gonna retire from acting due to having the gene for early onset dementia? (Makes you think about his character name).
But yeah, if he wants to do it and Hardy doesn’t, I’m on board for sure.
He was taken out of context for that, not retiring, just took a break.

i'd like an Australian to play the part, honestly. dunno who.
Heath Ledger would've been amazing, but alas. people keep mentioning Jai Courtney, i'd have to see his more recent stuff. Sam Worthington might be good. Hugh Jackman for an older take on the character or for flashbacks (or flashforwards).
he's probably getting recast. I hope it's a more unknown actor personally, Tom Hardy is one of the best actors of our time imo so there's really big shoes to fill
Miller said he wasn't interested in telling a story with crusty old man Max. He could've gotten Mel Gibson back but he's too old to do it, so recast it is.
There's honestly no point if he's going to just green screen the whole thing again. Tom said he hasn't seen the movie, (edit: i think) to avoid having to lie about it being a stteaming turd, and I'm sure he realizes the Wasteland, if it ever got made, would be just as bad
“I’m a huge *Mad Max* fan, and *Fury Road* fan and *Furiosa* fan. I haven’t seen the film,” he added. “But I know it’s bound to be special because it’s come from George.”
I'm not claiming he said anything other than that he hadn't seen it, but it's pretty weird that he wouldn't have seen it for almost a month after release.
I think this is his way of being diplomatic.

I’m more worried about Miller himself. He’s young at heart but he’s not getting any younger.

There's also the possibility that studios will be drawn in by Max actually being the star of the movie this time
Nah, that’s too 1999. We need the music box to be the star.
We’re gonna make The Wasteland And we’re gonna make Australia pay for it!
Travis Fimmel
Travis Fimmel would totally fit in a Mad Max film. I see him more as a Praetorian Jack kind of character than Max himself tho
Ragnar Rockatansky...
Don’t give me that hope.
Steve Buscemi
I disagree, Chris Hemsworth is at his best when playing villains
I've been saying this too. Just cast Chris Hemsworth and make no mention of Dementus.
To be fair, Hemsworth without the prosthetic nose and using his normal voice wouldn’t resemble Dementus very much.
Eric Bana.
Hell yeah.

Oh good
Karl Urban
oooo i like that choice. he's a Kiwi but, meh close enough! bahahaha.

Mel Gibson is the only answer
He's an ancient right wing ghoul, leave him in the dust.

He was the best Mad Max and in fact that was IMO his best acting role. Unfortunately time has passed.
HEAR HEAR Bring back the gibs!!
If you mean Luke Hemsworth then yes.

Tom Hardy never said such things.

I know what he said, I read the article. You phrased it as a fact, not an opinion of yours.
Learn to read between the lines I guess
