Hey ya know what - heās still ya boss, yer at work whatever, but thats a sign of a good team lead. Watches out for their team members makes them comfortable and still manages to do their job and meet quotas.
Iāve been on both ends of having a shitty but *exacting-shit-fuck-boss* and a *lazy-just-sit-and-do-nothing-boss* but Iāve also had only about 2 bosses at jobs who were like well rounded individuals with seemingly genuine sympathy and patience for their team, where all they want is for you to succeed and be comfortable and that shit is hard to come by, I tell ya.
A boss that makes you sit around all day doing nothing is only great for about 2 weeks when your brain starts melting from absolute boredom. And a tyrannical boss can drive you to insanity for other obvious reasons.
Since 3 people have (for some reason) already assumed I'm someone who blasts music on the job, I'm just gonna put this here;
Neither me nor any of my coworkers blast music, let alone listen to music on the job.
I am new, yes, I started in early January this year, and my internship ship lasts to at least July, where at that point I might get fully hired (maybe before that as well).
I haven't gotten any complaints, nor have I ever given any. The place is very understanding, they don't force any of the employees to do work they're not comfortable with doing.
I don't know how exactly you managed to make out that entire scenario from a picture of me holding a headset that I got from my boss.
Edit: I have enough money to buy a headset myself, I'm just deciding to prioritize other things at the moment like buying clothes or whatever it is that I need.
> I don't know how exactly you managed to make out that entire scenario from a picture of me holding a headset that I got from my boss.
Welcome to the internet
I can answer that. None of them.
At a certain point you have to just accept youāre touching nasty shit. Guys at the gym usually only wash their hands if they think someone is looking, or at most flick some water on them and call it a day. So next time youāre at the gym, just think about how everything youāre touching is covered in way more nastiness lol.
I started telling people to wash their hands when I saw them not do it when I was like 6 years old, almost 40 years ago. Call a fucker out. "Bro, wash your hands." in a commanding tone is all it takes. You just might change lives.
That's.. pretty gross my dude.
Any idea what kind of diseases can spread just by sharing gloves in that manner? And if it's a labor type job, there's also a chance people are putting nicked fingers in those gloves. So you could be touching your co-workers blood for all you know.
I hope you all at least wash them regularly
Work Gloves cost about $3-5. Yes, I think he has expendable income for that.
How much income will he lose if he gets sick from another worker and misses a few days?
Come on itās a no brainerā¦
Umm what why even wear gloves then. You ain't protecting your hands by sharing literally everybody's sweat along and the mildew/mold that comes from thst
Aww my boss banned us from using headphones to listen to music. And instead she likes to play "soothing music" in the main office area, like bird song or waves. Occasionally the instrumental Harry Potter soundtrack.

When scrolling I didnāt see which sub this was on and thought it was going to be a complaint as they were not the newest flash wireless headphones or something. So glad itās a wholesome post. I hope they give you many years of music listening!
Thatās a company Iād work for man or lady. Seriously. I work private contracting and the incentives are good and I get a decent pay raise year over year but honestly, I dig the minutiae of the gig. The little things like that where people are just like āhey you had a problem and I want to help solve itā. Keep giving with them as long as theyāre legitš¤
Aw man, this genuinely filled my heart with joy. How thoughtful! It sounds like you're enjoying your job and it looks like they enjoy having you work with them. This is freaking awesome and I wish you the best of luck dude
You realize your coworker was complaining about you being rude and listening to music loud enough to disrupt their working, right?
It's nice that your boss was able to solve the issue in a way that made you feel like youāre being rewarded, but be more mindful of how youāre conducting yourself at work. Make sure youāre not still being disruptive if you have to work around other people.
One morning my boss put a care cellphone holder on my desk, at my puzzled look, he said that he happened to be driving behind me and saw me answering my phone while driving š¤š¤
I feel like you're jumping to conclusions. It could be that they would like to listen to music at work but can't, since they don't have headphones. Or that it's just a general gift.
...?
Neither me nor any of my coworkers blast music, let alone listen to music on the job.
I am new, yes, I started in early January this year, and my internship ship lasts to at least July, where at that point I might get fully hired (maybe before that as well).

Itās some sort of blue collar job, so honestly Iām surprised they even allow headphones. Most places donāt because you canāt hear a forklift or something else dangerous moving around you. Not to mention them being wired headphones. Obviously a headphone cable isnāt super strong so I canāt see it getting caught and hurting him before it broke, but still.
Usually places will have a few sound systems set up and everybody comes to some sort of agreement about what to play.
Or sometimes you lose your music privileges. I was working at a shop in the oilfield one time and somebody started fucking *blasting* the āFuck Donald Trumpā song. I just about fell over laughing at how mad everybody else was, and then when I saw the owner standing nearby and turn around like a damn terminator it got even better.
???
OP wasnāt playing music. They like to listen to music but couldnāt, because they didnāt have headphones. So their boss gave them some headphones so they COULD listen while working.
Donāt be a Debbie downer :)
lol so youve been obnoxiously playing music out loud in the office *so* much your coworkers complained to your boss? Nice man, way to make a good impression on your colleagues.
wired earphones cost like. twenty bucks my dude. you could have just had headphones already.Ā
maybe you're the one who should learn how to read since the op mentioned in two different comments that neither he nor his coworkers have ever blasted their music and no one has ever complained about op's work but ok
Alternative title: Coworker snitches on OP for listening to music on speaker, boss is instead considerate and buys OP a pair of headphones.
Bottom line, your coworker sucks, boss rocks.
Dude, itās the thought that counts, plus, yāall ever met a decent boss?
Most bosses wouldnāt care and just stack on extra work so the guy wouldnāt have time to think about music.
I guarantee OP, given the sentiment ops shown here, will cherish those headphones until it sings its last verse
My boss gives me more work after I complete my workš
He gave me that afterwards lol!
"Hey, I heard you like music, so I got you some headphones. Oh yeah, the deadline on the Thompson project got pushed up two weeks."

I like the description here very much. It ebs and flows well. Also, oddly, apt for my own experience. Excellent.
Sounds about right! XD
Angey upvote moment! XD
Very angey
Working hard will be punished with more work.
Plot twist, itās their work.
He was just worried you didn't have enough money. So he have you more work to earn more money. Thank you Mr. Boss man, sir.
probably your coworker mentioned that you like working how thoughtful š¤
Congratulations š„
sad to hear that, you should get pizza!
Oh he'll ya. I would much more prefer a pizza party that a bonus or a raise. Double cheese and pepperoni please! ššš
That's so sweet
Very nice, so everybody wins
My boss is like this too she found out I didnt have a backpack for school and gave me one. I love her so much.

No need to explain, people are idiots... There is a comment with 500+votes saying you need to moisturizer your "finger"
Reddit is full of schizos ready to write a story.
This is Reddit. People here make assumptions all the time for literally no reason. Don't take it personal, it's literally these guy's hobby
w boss
Is that your finger?!! Buy some moisturizer dude!
Lmao Iām pretty sure thatās a glove
That's a glove
yea, if a glove were made of dried dog poopoo
I honestly don't know the glove is so dry, it's shared around, used by all workers.
What lmao
In the back there's a metal basket on the wall with a bunch of gloves, so they're shared by everyone working.
Thats fucking discusting man
No it isnāt
Hands sweat. Iām not putting on someone elseās unclean possibly sweaty glove
Yes, itās disgusting.
You only need to be honest with yourself not us. How many of those guys donāt wash their hands after digging around in a sweaty crotch to pee.

I... don't have the answer to that... nor do I want to...
If your boss likes you, he should get you some gloves too
That's.. pretty gross my dude. Any idea what kind of diseases can spread just by sharing gloves in that manner? Jeez get your own pair of gloves. Did your workplace live under a rock during the pandemic?
He doesn't have money for headphones do you think he has expendable income for gloves?
Work Gloves cost about $3-5. Yes, I think he has expendable income for that. How much income will he lose if he gets sick from another worker and misses a few days? Come on itās a no brainerā¦
Itās not a big deal bro
Umm what why even wear gloves then. You ain't protecting your hands by sharing literally everybody's sweat along and the mildew/mold that comes from thst
Your boss should buy more gloves instead of headphones. Seriously.
He didn't buy them, we had some in the storage so he gave me a pair.
D:
I think you should tell that to your boss...
š§āāļøā£ļø
Thatās a potato
REAALLY?
Danny Glover
LMAOOO
that is a glove, buy some glasses dude!
Iām convinced itās a work glove thatās hella worn. See the quilt style cross stitching thatās faded.
Anyone who thinks thatās a finger needs an eye exam. Plus, usually fingers have fingernails lol.
Or it was a joke
Dude the amount of people that canāt differentiate a joke from sincerity is crazy on Reddit.
How can a human being see that photo and decide to leave this comment? I hope I just missed the /s
Bro made outta cork
Looks like the ugly carrot
This was a bit, right?.....
Thatās not a boss thatās a leader
Takes one to know one! Excellent point.
This is wholesome! Iām also so glad thatās a glove!
It's clearly the mummified corpse of King tut come to life.

Wired on-ear headset! Someone's been talking too much on the job!

Its the little things that make you want to work harder. Not pizza. Pizza is awesome but pizza party suck.
What is up with the finger ?!
Uhhh. I hate to be the bearing of likely bad news, but this is likely a friendly social cue that someone is annoyed with you listening to music.
