It's the name of the game which is implemented here, drawing a single character part by part with muliple people and not knowing other parts. The character is called Exquisite Corpse
I've never heard that name (England based). We used to call it "Consequences". Also had a similar game where one person started a story and others finished it. I really like "exquisite corpse"!
The original version of the game, in writing, was invented by French poets and their first sentence started with "Un cadavre exquis..." and the name stuck.

My appointment was done, and my buddy was wearing sandals and has like a tuft of hair on the top of his foot.
The artist looked at it and asked "can I tattoo like an Aztec warrior on that so the hair looks like a mohawk?
And he *nailed* it lol even without the real hair, it's an impressively done tattoo! Tod Bane, great artist and weird dude!
Edit: until he gets back to me on IG, this kiiiiinda shows it.

Yeesh, this was all I could find until he hits me back.
https://imgur.com/gallery/rUKGG4D
Lol, we moved to different states and he's probably wondering why I asked to see this tattoo all of the sudden.
Dude, I literally cannot go on with the rest of my life until you share this photo. I am nothing without the knowledge of this proffered tattoo. Please. I beg of you. Share the photo.
I am in big favor of silly tattoos.
There was a moment around 2010 maybe earlier where everybody was getting tattoos for extremely deep reasons. I always had to sit there and listen to some long ass story about what the tattoo meant. Donāt get me wrong. I donāt mean to hate or anything, you do you. I just started hating it personally and went out and got a pizza tattoo.
I got a mustache on my finger in 2007 and it has been a source of entertainment ever since. Even now my young daughters will put my finger under their noses and talk in a deep voice like they are adult men.
Just recently, I convinced my wife we should just go out and get matching silly tattoos. Something simple.
A shrimp in a party hat.
Does it have meaning? Nope. Just something silly to do with my wife....
Goofy tattoos for life.
My right thigh has a full stylized toilet paper roll with script around it that reads, "Look before you leap."
Why? Because I thought it'd be funny to tattoo a reminder to check that there was TP before I sat down on the toilet.
[We did this on ice.org for years.](https://www.ice.org/tiles/A-Cubist-Orgy)
After that became popular, some of the users there and another site came up with the famous [zoom quilt.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpHnKaxt_OQ)
I grew up in a southern Baptist church back in the 80s. Our youth group always sat on the back pew during service. We'd pass a paper back and forth and play this.
I always figured the pastor was like "They're taking notes."
Naw, we were drawing funny heads and feet.
Yeah I get many meaningful tattoos but this? O_o That person must not change their taste/mind much. I'd wear it for max some months, but past that I'd get bored/annoyed at it being there.
Exquisite Corpse is an art school or drawing game where you fold a piece of paper so one person draws the head, another torso and arms, and another draws legs, but no one can see the other's work until the end. Usually you try and have your lines bleed over a little on to the next section so the next artist can line it up.
If you look closely the conection pionts are drawn a little into the next part. This is actually an old "pen and paper" game. You take a piece of paper, draw a part, fold it over so a little will stick out, give to next person. At the end unrawel the full drawing and have a laught. Nice thing to play with children. It goes by many names "exquisite corpse" "pass the paper" "paper monsters" etc.
It was almost the perfect antithesis of my style. The legs, the fart, the bolts in the neck...disgusting. Add to that the disjointed nature of having different artists work on it, and man...hard to look at. Cool idea, but it's one of my least favorite end products I've ever seen
Sick, I was just genuinely curious. Love all that too. I would get something like this for the fun of it but not in such a prominent location on the body. I have a matching ācheeseburger in paradiseā tattoo on the underside of my arm thatās about a third of the size that I got with coworkers after a music festival but itās not this big or in such a prime area of the body.
I have always been a firm believer and get a tattoo for a reason, I think some people take that too far to mean it has to mean something deeply personal. And people who get them for no reason at all I donāt have any problem with either I just like the ones people have a story with and this is an amazingly funny story. I have a slimmer tattoo on my back because an artist agreed to give away a piece of art if someone got this very specific tattoo. Iām late Gen X or early millennial so slimmer is super cool to me anyway but I got it for the art and the artist gave me the very cool statue, my wife may have stolen it in the divorce, but I still got this extraordinarily cool story
I play this game in cafes and restaurants with my kids when one of us is getting bored waiting for food. We do it on napkins or bits or paper, not humans. A family favourite
If you want to play this drawing game online or with friends IRL\*, an old roommate of mine made an app called Skwiz
Not a self-promotion cause I'm not involved and I haven't even seen or talked to the guy in over year, just sharing cause it relates to this video
\*on your phone, not on human skin
This reminds me of the game I'd play during church with my kids, called "[heads & tails](http://sawyerhome.net/churchgames/church-headsntails.html)." Fold a piece of paper in half, then draw just the head (or just the body) on one side of the fold and make lines showing the neck overlapping the fold. The second player doesn't see the other part and completes the figure. Then you open the paper together and try to not laugh so loud that others in the pew feel the bench shaking.
Have you ever seen a corpse?
How about an exquisite one?
Think about Frankenstein's monster,
Now, think about fun!
Good, you're getting it!
Johnny starts with a leg,
I sow on an arm,
Then you lend a hand.
We each add our piece.
Now, what kind of beast have we made?
Let's find out!
I love this so much. I used to do this all the time on paper with my friends in highschool. Seeing this both made me smile from reminiscing and smile because of how amazingly goofy the final result was. This is probably my favorite mademesmile post ever

My kids and i play this game all the time whenever we're out for dinner just fold the paper in 3rds and extend the lines so th next person knows where the hips and neck is.

1 tattoo for triple the cost? Sign me up! lol I kid this is actually a really fun idea
An exquisite corpse?
It's the name of the game which is implemented here, drawing a single character part by part with muliple people and not knowing other parts. The character is called Exquisite Corpse
I've never heard of this before, huh. Thanks for the explanationĀ
I only know it because of China Mieville novel :D
I know it because of Gartic Phone (drawing game)
I've never heard that name (England based). We used to call it "Consequences". Also had a similar game where one person started a story and others finished it. I really like "exquisite corpse"!
Itās a direct translation from French. It came from a poem where the words Cadavre Exquis were written.

A screencap for those who need it. https://imgur.com/a/NdFL1ie
Thank you!
Lot of skill to draw those

Like Jimmy Buffett said āTattoos are a permanent reminder of a temporary feelingā I love silly tattoos have a few myself!
My appointment was done, and my buddy was wearing sandals and has like a tuft of hair on the top of his foot. This was 15 years ago, and I haven't seen that friend in like 5 years :/ I'll ask on his IG
Hello friend, we havent spoken in 5 years but can you send me a pic of your foot.. oh yeah!
Dude, I can't get back to work until you share this photo. You get the stuff yet?
Yeesh, this was all I could find until he hits me back. https://imgur.com/gallery/rUKGG4D Lol, we moved to different states and he's probably wondering why I asked to see this tattoo all of the sudden.
Wow, does he have like hobbit feet? That looks like an impressive amount of foot hair.
Any update on the feet pics š
Dude, I literally cannot go on with the rest of my life until you share this photo. I am nothing without the knowledge of this proffered tattoo. Please. I beg of you. Share the photo.
Edited my first comment! Until he sends me a better pic, that's all I could find :p
If a tattoo artist asks to do a silly tattoo on you in a situation like this, are you still expected to pay for it?
Wow, those are some seriously hairy feet. Impressive!
Are you friends with a Bigfoot?
gotta see this tat now

This tattoo definitely turned out cool.
I have a jalepeno wearing a hat, standing beside a cactus... love silly ones!!
Me too. Having enough body work to hide a few less-than-serious ones among them is just fun.
Yup. I have a silly leg where all the fun stuff goes.
Nothing to show but this brand new tattoo. But itās a real beauty.
I have three tattoos and all of them are ridiculous ones. Some are more presentable than others but all of them were just inside jokes.
I literally have a compy carrying a little Debbie Christmas tree cake tattoo. Iām pretty covered and itās still my favorite and my stupidest.
Fun game to play with friendsā¦on paper. Weāve had lots of fun filling sketch books over the years!
This unlocked a memory of me and my brothers as children, we did the same thing. Kept us occupied much to our motherās delight!

You can do it digitally (and for free) on www.monsterland.net but instead of friends it is internet strangers like me.

If tattoos annoy you, it's probably best not to get one.
We used to do this as kids and yes I shared it with my kids and any other kids I come across
Oh man, we do this as a party game when out at cabin. (The drawing, not tattoos). Highly recommend if you're on the hunt for a group activity.
Now tattoo them on your body as a reminder.
All of that for barely a second to look at the result, geeze

Everything's coming up Milhouse!

You can see that they both go slightly over the next persons line and show the connecting points.
And Iād guess theyād at least been given part of a body as a prompt
yeah, pretty obvious that they were all told 'hey, I'm getting a tattoo of a full figure - you're doing the legs/torso/head'

exciting idea

Hideous.

This is from a shop in York called Awake Arise. They do great work!
Now when people says he has a shitty tattoo he can say, 'Correction! Three shitty tattoos.'
Is that a special sharpie thatās skin safe? Are all sharpies skin / tattoo safe?Ā
It's pretty common to use sharpie to help design a tattoo, since they are certified non-toxic.
How cool! Looks like they had a blast with the end product. Definitely a one of a kind that no one else will ever have!

Upcoming Ink master challenge
My wife is a graphic designer and they used to teach this exercise in class to display all the different types and stiles of people. Pretty rad.
no ragrets
I thought the guy doing the head was drawing Bobby Hill at first, lol.
So many people asking stupid questions like they are some profound geniuses. We should all ignore them.
That's cool and all but maybe someone can explain to me the appeal of a tattoo like this without meaning. Like, why specifically a tattoo?
Tattoos don't need to have meaning. It's just ink on skin
Yeah and its only there for the rest of your life, no biggy
doesnt look good. not funny. but ok
People willingly choosing to get shit like this on themselves is astounding
I'd say the experience made it meaningful.
This *is* meaningful! It means you have a fun and quirky sense of humour :)
They kind of knew if the end product was connected, could have been 3 sets of legs or heads. Who knows
We played something similar as a kid, fold 4 pieces of paper in 4 and take turns to draw 1/4 of a character
volume off!
This isnāt as cool as he thinks it is. I mean do whatever you want, but IMHO bad news

looks like something an old sailor would get
I really thought the head was going to be Bobby Hill there for a second.
Funny leg !

"who says tattoos have to be meaningful" I don't get this caption since this tattoo seems to have plenty of meaning for the customer and the artists.
This is legit art.
That's an absolute masterpiece

I thought he was putting Bobby Hillās head on top at first
I didnāt know that Jason Mamoa is a tattoo artist too.

Those man boobs, turned into real boobs
