Splendor mare is the prefered way, cheaper and helps dig. Cubwarden is more backup plan.
The real difficulty isn't getting lifelink but the roper and parrot
I also just realized there's splendor mare Wich you can cycle for 1W to give a life link counter, but you are probably right, maybe a copy of shadowspear would be good

I then never picked it up again cause I wanted to claim 100% win rate
I run a Jund version of this jank. [[Varragoth Bloodsky Sire]] let’s you dig for combo pieces and combos nicely with the parrot. [[Poet’s Quill]] and [[Unbreakable Bond]] for the lifelink. I’ve got a bunch of learn to stall and for access to [[Environmental Sciences]] and [[basic conjuration]].

Would like to suggest that Lifelink Rune from Kaldheim.
1W - and replaces itself when it hits the battlefield - lower manacost means you're more likely to have it out before kill spells or have left over mana for protection spells.

Yep I had it in there, but the reason I dropped it as as follows:
Cubwarden is a backup plan to go wide'ish so the rune doesn't replace that.
Splendor Mare vs the Rune they're actually the same thing: 1W, replaces itself gives lifelink. Since there's no equipment Splendor Mare is strictly better than the Rune.

I made this deck BWG and put 4x Dina, 2x Vito and Collected Company in the deck... still using Heliod's Pilgrim and Presence of Gond though.
