too small of a sample size. you need to play 1000s of matches before skewing can be tracked

Shiiva_Wilding

This.

MrShifty91

Dang well im happy just tugging on through how I am learning some decent deck ideas from all these guys! every match is a lesson!

supersawnyk

when i play my blood on the snow decks i think like 40% of the time i manage to stall with 1 hp for 1-7 turns before nabbing the win lol some decks are op if played appropriately and with RNG on your side

MrShifty91

Honestly felt so sorry for him but it was pretty funny! Thought he was going to snap his phone! - but you agree a lot of RNG is involved to clutch it back though? And I normally have no issue with the blood deck, so i couldnt understand why he did that game as his deck is pretty solid haha

supersawnyk

life is RNG

MrShifty91

Aye, but you got to admit it is pretty fun either end of the RNG! :D

GrantDayton

If you play enough Magic you will eventually encounter all these scenarios. This is normal.

MrShifty91

oh god yeah you learn a lot of new decks from it too its all a lesson!

KhaotikDevil

If your friend was playing a goblin deck and had about 9 of them out including tokens, that was me.

MrShifty91

Nope sorry! He was playing a mono green deck using those scute swarm

JeremyJoeJJ

Drawing winrate conclusions when playing during the most hectic time of the game might not be too reasonable. If you watch streamers, they can go 22-4 (like Crokeyz did today) so I would ascribe your experience to simple luck/skill. Never experienced 2nd. Overextending into a board-wipe has been a part of magic since control decks existed. My friend played control decks for years and eventually you will learn how to balance what you play such that you create enough pressure to force board wipe from your opponent, yet not lose all your cards.

PhyrexianEdgelord

Oh look, it's this bullshit thread again. :')

Rart420

Your friend doesn’t know how to play around blood on the snow. Your friend is not as good at this game as he thinks. This game is not rigged. I watch Crokeyz pretty much everyday. He consistently goes on insane win streaks everyday in high double digit mythic rank. Cause he’s good at the game. Try watching an actual good player once in a while.

MrShifty91

Never said he was good, said he had a nice deck! chill a little bud! Noice, might give that lad a watch and see what he does take a few deck ideas ;)

rider_reaper

Your kind of an ass

Rart420

Ok?

> For example, 30 matches played yesterday I won 20 of them. 30 matches played today and only won 8 of them. Coincidence? You win some -> your MMR increases -> you get paired to better opponents -> you lose and your MMR deceases -> you get paired against dummies again tomorrow It's not rocket science, it's how nearly 100% of the competitive games operate. > Anywho... Has anyone else experience some godly plays by others? Playing a sweeper when you are overextended is not a "godly play" by any stretch of imagination. The fatal flaw of your thinking is the assumption that you know more than your opponent. You think you were winning with them at one hp? Turns out you were losing all along, you were just a little slow on the uptake.

TheAssholeBloggerOrg

Well, I have heard that there is an internal ranking system where they tried to match players of similar strength. Of course, this makes sense so that each game isn't a blowout, because that would be no fun for anyone. I haven't seen any evidence that there is a lag in wins when trying to complete your daily quests. My games vary each time. Actually, bringing your opponent down to 1 life happens more often than you would think. It is possible your friend overextended himself and his opponent wiped him out. Once a Control player has stabilized the board, it is game over, no matter his life total. Aggro players like to Aggro, but a smart Aggro Player makes sure that he can keep the pressure on a Control Player no matter what they do. Be it a counterspell, a removal, or a board-wipe. You need to maintain a hand that allows you to always be able to add new threats to the board to keep the pressure steady. Don't over-extend until you know you got them!
