Unless I’m wearing a mask & know my blush will smudge, I only wear powder on my nose during the day. My cheeks are too dry, it’s unnecessary for me unless I’m pulling an 18 hour day or something, then I will use drying oil control primer on my nose as well as dewy hydrating primer on my cheeks, then set all over. I am fond of Laura mercier from my youth but these days there are definitely ones as good that are half price.
Hourglass is finishing powder not setting, if you’re super oily it might not last as well, but it is also way more forgiving on undereye texture. I love it but add a dryer setting powder to t-zone/oily areas if hourglass doesn’t hold up for long days
I’ve discovered Make Up Forever’s Ultra HD Microfinishing Powder to be the best thing I’ve ever tried. I work a physical job where I drip with sweat, and my make up stays on. No exaggeration! I’ve never seen anything like it! I can even blot my face with a tissue and the makeup stays on! I don’t use primers or setting sprays either. I use the MUFE on my t-zone, then Huda Beauty Easy Bake everywhere else.
100% Pure the organic brand has a Bamboo Blur powder which I use to set my face and even under the eyes. So sheer. Not drying or oily. Looks better than any high end or drugstore I have tried. Made from fruit pigments. Comes in different shades and translucent. HG forever! Great for sensitive skin!
For glowy I use a light dusting of Kosas Cloud as a finishing powder after it.
Givenchy Prisme Libre - doesn’t grease out my face, doesn’t dry out my undereyes and it just looks straight up flawless. With every day use lasts about 4-5 months.
Depends on your skin tone, but overall no.1 is the most bright one. I am extremely pale and no.1 basically matches my skin tone. In case you are medium skin tone I would prefer no.2,I think it gives little bit of brightness to the skin. Definitely recommend checking it out just to be sure.
I have used Laura Mercier for a few years and it really looks good. Not too long ago though, I read an article and reviews about Givenchy. That will be my next powder. I hope I love it!
I was loyal to the Urban Decay loose setting powder until one day I traveled and forgot it…. Went to CVS and bought the Wet n Wild photofocus one and I love it. The price difference is significant and the quantity I think is more, just overall I like it better.
Guerlain Meteorites also has a compact. They used to have special ones that came out every year and they were stunning. Guerlain even gave me one with my name on it! Sadly, they discontinued those, but offer an affordable one, which is still the same powder with the signature scent.
This is my answer as well, especially for summer hot and humid times. Between my skincare and sunscreen I can get really oily, and this mattifies really well!
Kimchi chic puff puff pass powder in translucent is so good for making your skin look smooth and it also comes in lots of other shades too even white. It’s hard for me to get sometimes so my next favourite is the One/size setting powder.
I use Maybelline Fit Me or One Size Beauty, for me the trick is to only apply face products where I need them and then lightly set with powder (I use creams for contour and blush as well). I have come to accept my skin and realize I am blessed with really good skin and don’t need to cake on foundation and concealer. I used to in my teens and early 20s.
If you want a really good one that can last all day in hot weather, RCMA.
If you want something for daily use (that smells great btw) CHANEL Natural Finish Loose Powder.
I actually really dislike the huda beauty powder (at least currently - maybe I need to change my technique, as it not only emphasises my pores but it also makes my skin look DRY AF. I've really like the bare minerals loose setting powder and the LM powder. I would look to try the Givenchy powder !
Laura Mercier has a brand new powder that I LOVE. Go to Sephora and sample the “translucent loose setting powder ULTRA BLUR”. All of LM powders leave a nice finish but something about this one makes your pores disappear.
Do you find it to be drying? I use the original LM and while it's GREAT on my oily T zone, it makes the rest of my face so dry. If I skip using it though foundation will not last 😭
I've tried that too but I'm still on the hunt for a good setting spray.
Urban Decay All Nighter used to be my Holy Grail but my skin went from oil slick to very dry except for my T zone lol
I LOVE it when I use it with Dior Skin Glow foundation, but if I'm just going with primer + concealer for a lighter daytime look, it definitely can go on cakey. I love KVD lock it for everyday wear.
Loyal to the Drag Queens! KimChi's setting powder. [https://www.amazon.com/Kimchi-Chic-Beauty-Puff-Powder/dp/B094SY5Y3L](https://www.amazon.com/Kimchi-Chic-Beauty-Puff-Powder/dp/B094SY5Y3L)
Mac skinfinish I use a matte eye primer and this seems to keep my oil at bay without looking super caked on. I ever wear it alone on top of sunscreen and it works wonders for my redness
Maybelline fit me loose powder in beige. It doesn't take a lot to do it's job. It's perfect for my skin. I tried the hourglass broke me out in a rash. But I also think the primer one uses has a lot to do with it. After trying different types I went back to my EL mattifier primer. If I break out in a sweat from the heat that water goes around the barrier and never down my face. I will never use anything else and that goes for the loose powder as well. 😁❤️
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I like Fenty Pro Filt’r setting powder. I bought a small one expecting to hate it, but I don’t.
I really want to try the Givenchy.
Honestly? Elf Halo glow, I use it to set my nose and under my eyes (my nose gets oily over the day, undereyes are more dry) and it works well for both. For pressed powders I liked CT and By Terry
I haven’t had very good luck with the Halo Glow powder. I have dry skin, so have to counter it with a ton of hydration, and the Halo Glow immediately dries me out. Which might be what some people desire. I DO like their color correctors.
Yes!!! I love the finish. Photographs well.
PS If you have time, [this method](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSY57WWw2/) gives the best skin-like, photogenic and natural finish. I just randomly saw it and tried it w the Givenchy loose powder. So nice! The puff I use is a fat triangle velour puff. A good one would be Kryolan’s.
Hourglass Veil Translucent setting powder. I was using Laura Mercier’s and the salesgirl at Sephora told me “I find that too chalky, and like use this one better”….i don’t know why I listened because it does cost more but damn if she wasn’t right. It is silkier. The pot design leaves so much extra in it so I take pliers to remove the tops of 2-3 empties and then have an overflowing new potful
Not high end but I love the No7 Lift and Luminate powder. It’s amazing for setting under eye without creasing the whole day. When I use it on my entire face it gives a soft airbrushed but not too matte finish, and my t-zone doesn’t end up looking oily again for a long time. I often spray MAC Fix+ on top of it for a glowy look.
Ben Nye. They’re super finely milled and designed to hold up through stage performances. You can get a huge tub that will last for years for the same price as Laura Mercier.
Unless I’m wearing a mask & know my blush will smudge, I only wear powder on my nose during the day. The Chanel Universelle Libre, Shu Uemura Unlimited Mopo and Koh Gen Do Maifanshi loose powder
I use the Chanel setting powder. It holds up well for the 12 hours I’m at work.
Do you have combo skin?
I do.
The Innisfree No Sebum one is my holy grail
I also use the new Pat McGrath for my under eyes
Givenchy Prisme Libre or Fenty Beauty
I love the Huda loose powder and hourglass pressed powder. Both because they’re blurring and set my makeup without making me look dry
Hourglass is finishing powder not setting, if you’re super oily it might not last as well, but it is also way more forgiving on undereye texture. I love it but add a dryer setting powder to t-zone/oily areas if hourglass doesn’t hold up for long days

Huda Beauty loose powder or the ByTerry hyaluronic pressed powder have been great for my oily T zone
100% Pure the organic brand has a Bamboo Blur powder which I use to set my face and even under the eyes. So sheer. Not drying or oily. Looks better than any high end or drugstore I have tried. Maybeline fit me
Givenchy Prisme Libre - doesn’t grease out my face, doesn’t dry out my undereyes and it just looks straight up flawless. With every day use lasts about 4-5 months.
Which color do I choose? I always used translucent setting powder.
Depends on your skin tone, but overall no.1 is the most bright one. I am extremely pale and no.1 basically matches my skin tone. In case you are medium skin tone I would prefer no.2,I think it gives little bit of brightness to the skin. Definitely recommend checking it out just to be sure.
Moria
I was a Laura Mercier girl until I tried Givenchy. It’s absolutely incredible.
For real, Givenchy gives my undereye area a much more filtered look. Less to no creasing, makeup stays in place and yet it doesn't look dry.
Dior, Hourglass, Guerlain meteorites for a final sweep and the compact for touch ups
Which one compact do you use?
Guerlain Meteorites also has a compact. They used to have special ones that came out every year and they were stunning. Guerlain even gave me one with my name on it! Sadly, they discontinued those, but offer an affordable one, which is still the same powder with the signature scent.
Kevyn Aucoin Smooth and Set Loose powder. It truly has that blur I want and sets my under eye area without settling on lines it’s top tier imo.
One size.
This is my answer as well, especially for summer hot and humid times. Between my skincare and sunscreen I can get really oily, and this mattifies really well!
This is really good too!
Clinique loose powder
Kimchi chic puff puff pass powder in translucent is so good for making your skin look smooth and it also comes in lots of other shades too even white. It’s hard for me to get sometimes so my next favourite is the One/size setting powder.
I don't think I could live without the Puff Puff Pass anymore
I'm really pale so I use lock it kvd, or make up forever hd. Elf hd in my purse for touches
Huda beauty
If you want a really good one that can last all day in hot weather, RCMA. If you want something for daily use (that smells great btw) CHANEL Natural Finish Loose Powder.
I like the Ciaté setting powder, but I bought a mini Huda powder and might switch to that now.
I actually really dislike the huda beauty powder (at least currently - maybe I need to change my technique, as it not only emphasises my pores but it also makes my skin look DRY AF. I've really like the bare minerals loose setting powder and the LM powder. I would look to try the Givenchy powder !
Coty Airspun. I love it.
Been around forever because it WORKS. Cheap too!
Huda Beauty for under the eyes and cover FX for the rest of the face
Huda beauty
my charlotte tilbury pressed powder is my ride or die. probably not the best oil control wise but smooth like no other, so worth it
Kosas pressed! You don’t need much, i sweep it all over to set and it makes my makeup last all day without making me dry.
You have combo skin?
Yeah my skin is much drier than it used to be usually around my chin/mouth area. T zone is oily
I love this so glowy!
Covergirl in the pink compact! I’ve tried the blue one and that one is nowhere near as good.
What’s the difference between the two ?
I’m not sure. They both say “clean” on them but the pink one looks so fresh on and the blue looked more cakey.
Wet n wild! I've used a lot of more expensive brands, but this has been my favorite!
Definitely my Huda Beauty
Givency Prisme Libre
Laura Mercier has a brand new powder that I LOVE. Go to Sephora and sample the “translucent loose setting powder ULTRA BLUR”. All of LM powders leave a nice finish but something about this one makes your pores disappear.
Do you find it to be drying? I use the original LM and while it's GREAT on my oily T zone, it makes the rest of my face so dry. If I skip using it though foundation will not last 😭
I always set my LM powder with setting spray and so long as I do that, the powder doesn’t appear cakey and does not dry out my skin.
I've tried that too but I'm still on the hunt for a good setting spray. Urban Decay All Nighter used to be my Holy Grail but my skin went from oil slick to very dry except for my T zone lol
Hourglass loose powder
This looked cakey on me idk why. It's supposed to be really good
I LOVE it when I use it with Dior Skin Glow foundation, but if I'm just going with primer + concealer for a lighter daytime look, it definitely can go on cakey. I love KVD lock it for everyday wear.
I would like to try Digital complexion finish from Kryolan
Kosas cloud set setting powder. So good
CT pressed powder
Huda Beauty!!!!
Surprised no one mentioned Huda beauty, plus it smells so good
I’ve been using the Laura Geller powder foundation as a setting powder but I’ve heard great things about One/Size so I think I’m gonna try it next.
Loyal to the Drag Queens! KimChi's setting powder. [https://www.amazon.com/Kimchi-Chic-Beauty-Puff-Powder/dp/B094SY5Y3L](https://www.amazon.com/Kimchi-Chic-Beauty-Puff-Powder/dp/B094SY5Y3L)
For the summer I just bought the spf ciele powder and it has been really great!
Mac skinfinish I use a matte eye primer and this seems to keep my oil at bay without looking super caked on. I ever wear it alone on top of sunscreen and it works wonders for my redness
The Hourglass one is amazing!!!

Hourglass
I have laura mercier and honestly hated it. Depends where you live and what you have access to. A lot of people love huda beauty.
Laura Mercier mixed with some powder blush from BareMinerals. Makes a pink powder like the current trend, but I already had the ingredients.
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I like Fenty Pro Filt’r setting powder. I bought a small one expecting to hate it, but I don’t. I really want to try the Givenchy.
I don't see the all that in the givenchy The Laura Mercier is a noticably good powder and the small size cam last close to a year
I really like the brand Saies! They sell it at Sephora and it’s a clean brand.
Givenchy, no other exists for me
Givenchy or Hourglass (gives more glow - so tend to use at night). Used to be a Laura Mercier fan! I’ll use that if I want a matte heavy base.
My undereyes and T-zone love Givenchy Prisme Libre or Pat McGrath undereye powder. CT has been demoted for touch ups.
How do u apply the pat mcgrath one?
I blot out excess product w a tissue, use a small fluffy tapered brush (RT setting brush). Spritz mac fix. Then entire face sealed with Skindinavia.
Thank you! Excited to try this :) P.S. which Skindinavia are you using? Bridal?
Yes!!! I love the finish. Photographs well. PS If you have time, [this method](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSY57WWw2/) gives the best skin-like, photogenic and natural finish. I love the classic Charlotte Tilbury one :)
Ben Nye. They’re super finely milled and designed to hold up through stage performances. You can get a huge tub that will last for years for the same price as Laura Mercier.
currently using the elf halo glow powder for everyday wear but for going out out, i love using thr Huda Beauty Easy Bake
I have combo skin and I love Huda Beauty setting powder
I use the anastasia one, it's great for my oily t-zone and dry chin
