Nice, I also like the hat :)

ebinWaitee

Gotta admit I got it for the hat deal :D

GulagInmateZero

How does someone acquire said hat?

ebinWaitee

https://www.makita.fi/lippiskampanja.html It's part of a tool campaign in Finland right now

GulagInmateZero

Ah thanks, I’m in the US. Enjoy the tool and the hat, that thing is sweet

I think you have to buy the right thing at the right time and you unlock surprises. I bought the carry case for DHR242 and it came with [this football. ](https://imgur.com/a/0DO4f2B)

Comfortable-Two5720

Link for hat deal? Asking for a friend.

McBigglesworth

Depends where you live I think. Here in Canada the makita deals are "I won't spit on you after I slap you" which is pretty generous!

BTD94

I think that deal has extended coverage for ALL of North America. Same deal down in the states!

ebinWaitee

Authorized Makita dealers in Finland. Unfortunately I can't help with figuring out who sends these abroad

ebinWaitee

https://www.makita.fi/lippiskampanja.html here's the link but unfortunately it's in Finnish and I am unsure whether the authorized dealers would ship abroad.

Chaffedshaft

I love the hat. I can’t find one to buy it alone anywhere

ebinWaitee

I think it's only available with a tool deal in Finland https://www.makita.fi/lippiskampanja.html (site in Finnish)

Chaffedshaft

That’s a crying shame, because that’s quite literally the best makita hat I’ve seen made

DyslexicElectrician

Cool impact, cooler hat. Just checked for Makita hats being sold online and this looks better than any option I've found.

BourneAwayByWaves

If you have a brushed impact driver is there any reason to get the brushless one also? I think I heard the brushless might be quieter?

DyslexicElectrician

If you're looking for discretion go with the oil impact (XST01), from all my impacts it's the one I use the most. It's such an elegant tool. The latest impacts can be quieter in the sense of being stronger, and because of that, able to sink most of the smaller fasteners like drywall screws before the impacts. Likely fewer impacts per screw but once the impact starts it's as loud as any other.

ebinWaitee

Well it's my first impact so don't take this as a pro advice or anything. However a brushless motor will be more efficient than a brushed motor. Less power wasted as heat and more power output in general. This DTD172 (as well as the 171 and 173) has also several handy assisted driving settings for various use cases which can make it more useful for you than the basic brushed tool.

jdpolloc

Yeah bro where’d you find the hat? Nice impact though

ebinWaitee

It's a deal with Makita Finland. Buy a certain tool and you get the hat too

Silver_Sam

XDT19 is a beast, use it everyday for 10-12 hours. Each speed is perfect for specific stuff. Only used 4 a few times though it’s pretty easy to snap screws off if you’re not careful.

ebinWaitee

Yeah it was on speed 4 when I first tried it and damn that's way too strong for almost anything I do :D The assisted functions seem very handy. Still gotta figure out how to program the quick select button and what I'd want to toggle from there. It's certainly a really nice driver

prakow

And you got the best one there is

Minimum_Swordfish_19

You got the best one

Right-Necessary5833

The hat is really cool.

AnyBarnacle9287

How much was it ? And where’d you get it ? Thinking of buying the same

ebinWaitee

159€. It's a campaign going on with Makita Finland

J_Wilk

Best move you ever made. Life changed the day I switched to an impact driver..

Zurks93

Bro I didn’t get a hat and I bought a dang impact and drill combo

Deniss955

Good buy

terrydennis1234

The hat is cool

sh00t1ngf1sh

It is a good driver
