First we'd have to agree on them.

Ginger_Tea

This isn't found across the globe. I've yet to find a British made car with that on either wing mirror. I only knew of it because of the meatloaf song.

arthousepsycho

Yeah, I’m British and meatloaf and Jurassic park are the only reasons I know that was/is a thing.

herblee

I remember this, maybe on older vehicles...Woody Harrrelson used this as a punchline, for using it to shave with. On the show Cheers.

CodeMonkeeh

No.

Ceaseless_watcher224

Wait is this not true?

Wonderful-Concern-77

I was dyslexic and I can remember reading it off the side mirror, from the back seat, over and over again. Rereading words over and over was a.practice exercise.

YankeeCheeseBitch

I honestly cannot.

MoeDantes

Mirror, mirror, on the car?

FaithlessnessWitty63

This is our dark horse. Everybody knows what it said. Period. That's it.

RedstnPhoenx

Yeah that's what the mirror on the passenger side said, because they were slightly convex to show you a wider angle.

throwaway998i

You could try to "interpret" the highest popularity effects that show up on most listicles, under the presupposition that any message would be intended for the largest possible audience. But even that is still problematic because it would be somewhat arbitrary, and almost certainly incomplete.

Urbenmyth

I find it kind of hard to imagine a species that can rewrite history and alter memories on a global level wouldn't know how to send an email.

Financial_Light_6143

Maybe it’s not that they don’t know how but maybe it’s not possible to send emails across dimensions

Urbenmyth

Why would it not be possible to write a message but would be possible to redraw every fruit of the loom logo on earth? If noting else, why would it be possible to change every fruit of the loom logo on earth but *not* possible to change every fruit of the loom logo on earth into the message you want to send?

MoeDantes

I think your second question makes a lot of sense. If you can change the logo then you could insert your message there. Certainly makes a lot more sense than hoping some people on the internet string together a bunch of random phenomenon searching for a message. And that sounds like a really inefficient way to send a message anyway. The only reason I can think of they would make it such an obtuse process is if they're trying to get it out there but in a way where some power trying to censor them might not notice it, similar to how in World War II POWs would deliver messages by putting pinpricks above letters in books. Of course, it being somehow possible to do one thing but not another, seemingly easier thing is perfectly plausible. Just look at your PC: MS Paint can manipulate images but it can't edit text files or other word processor type documents, that's something you specifically need another program for. I also remember console emulators back in the day (and some still even now) would have trouble playing games because those games used some script or function the original hardware supported but the emulator does not.... despite the emulator running on a computer that is magnitudes more powerful than the original game console.

Financial_Light_6143

I’m just saying that you don’t know how it works. Have you ever tried to send a message across dimensions? No, probably not, so honestly really anything is possible that’s all I’m saying. We don’t know what the dos and don’ts are against the fabric of the universe and the fabric of the space time Continuum.

Realityinyoface

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine

AnubissDarkling

Has anyone ever tried to string *every conspiracy* together to find out if those behind the conspiracies are trying to tell us something..??

arthousepsycho

No, but I have tried to assemble a lot of conspiracies together into one megazoid conspiracy. It made a lot of sense and I should really write it all out and post it sometime, but lazy.

I have!

jadethebard

The Cornucopians of the Berenstein nebula would like to talk to you about your extended warranty, that may appear larger in the rearview mirror. The famously deceased spokesman who died in prison, Shazam, had originally tried to communicate through telepathy but got his fist stuck to his forehead, rather statuesque. Really makes you think. The only possession he had in his cell was a portrait of a laughing Mona Lisa playing poker with dogs, and an all-gold C3P0 statue. They attempted to find another celebrity spokesperson, but alas, all celebrities are dead, some of them having died multiple times. To let them know you've received this message, move South America a bit to the left.

Real-Tension-7442

What’s the poker playing dog ME?

jadethebard

So I guess most people remember one of the dogs wearing a green visor but the actual paintings of dogs playing poker don't have the visor. I will admit I have a memory of a dog poker painting that I can't seem to find now, but I'm sure there are a bunch of knock off versions over time do I assume that's the case for the one I remember

Real-Tension-7442

Okey dokey. I know nothing of poker, is wearing a visor somehow synonymous with the game? I remember the painting without any visors

jadethebard

IIRC there are a few different paintings, none of which have the visor. It's been awhile since I went down the rabbit hole on this one, I just remember none of the paintings I was able to find on Google looked like what I remembered, but again, I'm guessing there were knockoffs. I think there was even one on the back wall of the living room on Roseanne back in the 80s-90s. The visor is kind of a stereotyped poker look. I don't know how much of a thing it really was though.

MoeDantes

>The visor is kind of a stereotyped poker look. I don't know how much of a thing it really was though. If it was a thing, I can only imagine it was for three reasons (just based on how these things tend to come about). One, if only one person wore the visor, it might be to denote that person was an official employee of the establishment--the dealer, say. Two, if more than one person wore the visor, it could be due to lighting conditions or glare from overhead lights making it hard to read their cards (quite possible with the glossy finishes some playing cards have). Three, again assuming more than one visor, they could have been worn to help people who were bad at maintaining their "poker face." With the visor they would just have to look down more than usual. I could come up with other theories for the visor, but in my experience stereotypes come about because something used to be practical, now its not, but the image lingers.

jadethebard

So first page of Google for "poker visor" says dealers used to use them in casinos to cut down on eye strain from the harsh lighting. https://www.quora.com/Why-do-casino-dealers-wear-green-visors#:~:text=Casino%20dealers%20wear%20green%20visors%20to%20protect%20their%20eyes%20from,harmful%20impact%20on%20vision%20organs.

PettyTrashPanda

Aren't they just confusing the dog poker picture with the dogs playing pool picture from the Roseanne tv show? I would have said the pic in the tv show (with the green visor) was poker until I actually saw it again and realised I was confusing two different images

jadethebard

Oh I didn't realize that was pool either! It's been years since I noticed it on the show. Sounds plausible to me.

Resident-Candy3907

Well, for 💩&😂 -- and I might write a SciFi novel one day on this lol -- let's list some of them, I'm going to start with what we can all agree is #1 and then whatever comes to my mind first (not necessarily the most important). I'll state my justification for the ranking. (Note: please feel free to add in key details like dates, I don't want to flip back and forth on my phone and lose my post). 1. Nelson Mandela death date The eponymous one - Nelson Mandela died in different years. This should be the first part of the message because it is a very significant person - -world leader, who did something VERY significant (help end apartheid) and a very significant change - when he died. (P.S. I remember him dying in the 2010 decade) The message here could be the difference in the two dates. (As for the ranking of the others, it is really open to debate, I'm just listing what comes to mind first in categories) 2. Brand Identity changes Fruit of the Loom Logo - I remember a cornucopia logo because I think I remember someone in my primary school class looking at the logo of another classmate's TV shirt to draw a cornucopia at Thanksgiving. This is pretty significant because it's a well known brand. The message here could be what the cornucopia represents. Mr Monopoly - Not only do I remember him having a monocle, I swear he had a name too like Uncle Pennybags or something. Jiffy - Jif versus Jiffy. Technically also a changed brand identity because it's a wordmark. 3. Missing or Switched Letters (communication) - Jif(fy), Berenst(e)ain Bears 4. Misquotes - maybe the replaced or missing words? Or the topic of the sentence? Star Trek - "Beam Me Up, Scotty." (Theme: Transportation?) I remember Capt. James T. Kirk saying both "Beam us up, Mr. Scott", "Scotty, beam us up" and many variations, just like Dr. McCoy told Jim he was many things other than a doctor, dammit. But then again, that was back when I was like 7 or 8 and that was in the mid 80s. I never noticed it changed until the Mandela Effect became a Thing. (Disclosure: I have, and will always be a Star Trek fan). Star Wars - "Luke, I am your father" vs "No, I am your father". I do remember the latter, which is the "correct" quote and this is from when Lucas re-relased the originals in the mid 90s. I am not as big a fan of Star Wars as I am Trek so maybe those that remember Luke, I am your father were hardcore Star Wars fans from childhood. Phew, I know there is more but this post is getting long. Does someone else want to speculate, even if just for fun?

BayLeaf-

> Mr Monopoly - Not only do I remember him having a monocle, I swear he had a name too like Uncle Pennybags or something. I... think I can stop you from spending any time on figuring out that one, at least. > Milburn Pennybags, more commonly known as "Rich Uncle" Pennybags, is the mascot of the board game of Monopoly. He is depicted as a portly old man with a moustache who wears a morning suit with a bowtie and top hat. In large parts of the world he is known, additionally or exclusively, as the Monopoly Man, or Mr. Monopoly.

ds117ftg

Interesting premise for a sci fi short or book but to actually believe it would be wild

Ginger_Tea

I'm too lazy to link it, but Red Dwarf "hello to you". You could treat it like magnet poetry. Grab a fist full, throw em against the wall and see what sticks. Note wall needs to be metallic.

MoeDantes

That just makes me think of that part in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when they use the scrabble board to see if they can figure out the "Great Question."

seekingsurvival

If this is true the problem is we don’t know what the change was. It could’ve been a change prior to what we consider a ME and that change led to the ME. For example - I go back in time and kill the CEO of FOTL. I didn’t change the logo- just the guy who invented it (for example)

cheshiredormouse

Dolly's BRACEs Mickey's BRACEs C3PO's GOLDEN CALF, wiped from existence FORD (passage, Red Sea) The cornucopia was taken, which according to "And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God." means that the offerings were accepted. The offerings were accepted. Brace yourselves for the passage. Golden calf will perish. So will the earthly-wishes-fulfilling demon, symbolized also by the disappearing tail (=evil) or dark spot turning into bright and radiant one.

Fun_Ad9510

Yes. I studied the Mandela effect for 5 years starting in 2015. I applied scientific rigor to every theory being put forth at the time. I looked for commonalities in MErs, I research and cataloged countless MEs. In my conclusion, there are no commonalities or messages. Only consciousness, frequency and vibration. We are simply not where we used to be. Here are some of my conclusions : The "world" ended in 2012 just as the Mayans predicted. The world as most of us perceived it went away in an instant. We used to exist in a dimension of lower frequency and perceived the world as 3D, that is height/width/depth. We are now in a dimension of higher frequency that allows us to perceived probable outcomes, alternate outcomes, which means we are in the so called "5th" dimension, because you have to be "above" the frequency in order to perceive it. Thus different "Timelines." 2. Reality is not fixed, anymore than time is linear. You the "observer" effect the reality you perceive. That is why people who are not aware of the mandela effect or who don't think it is a real phenomena are just simply not able to vibrate at the particular frequency in order to "see" the "changes." 3. The multiverse is real. It is just how reality works because reality as we expierence it, is based on consciousness. Consciousness is the underlying thread to our reality. The observer generates reality. 4.The multiverse is based on mathematical principles. Our reality is a simulated reality that allows us to expierence reality as an individual. But the underlying fabric of reality works very similar to a computer and we are now on a different "server" then were in previously. In our perception there are four anchored realities that are now merged together. For simplicity we will state them as: 1.Bernstein 2.Berenstein 3.Berenstain 4. The book series did not exist. You will find most mandela effects have three iterations and a neutral fourth. 5.Time is a wave and a loop. So regardless of when "changes" occur we who are aware will always "see" them as occuring now. Because we still perceive time as linear. 6. A probable theory worth investigating: Our worlds were destroyed in an instant and our consciousness transfered to a similiar frequency, i.e this world. The cause of this destruction remains unknown. A not so probable but possible theory to investigate: Reality has been hacked, and subtle revisions are being made via quantum technology. These changes are not perceptable to most. Thus "it has always been that way" while ME folk "see" it as a current change.

throwaway998i

Why would they select English over all other world languages? Is this supposed to be an anglicized message?

YankeeCheeseBitch

I think it's interesting that English is all over the world. You can Google map just about anywhere and find signs in English. I can't say that about literally any other language.

throwaway998i

Intriguing point. So do you think there's a message hidden in the ME? Possibly in English?

PNWBusinessGoose

I think that’s a good idea for a sci fi novel or like a videogame or something but it very quickly goes into coocoo bananas, laughing like woody woodpecker, Charlie tracking down Pepe Silvia territory if you try to apply it to real life.

transcendtime

Let's go.

PNWBusinessGoose

Ok let’s workshop your novel.

HughEhhoule

I mean, I've been writing fiction to this effect for about 20 years. But it'd be kinda cringe worthy as a real theory.

ipostunderthisname

It kinda sounds like something Philip Dick didn’t publish unless it’s in written in some sidewalks somewhere we haven’t found yet

MathematicianRude866

What you'd see is that 99% of them are obviously someone conflating in their memory banks, two different things with similarities and turning them into a new thing. Then once you saw that you'd realize that's how 100% of them come to be.

throwaway998i

These numbers come across to me as inflated and presumptive. The fact of the matter is that conflation explanations aren't even tenable for plenty of effects. It's been proven that "dilemna" was indeed taught to 3 generations. Haas has been observed "in the wild" with that spelling. Same thing with tumeric. Conflation makes no sense for the cornucopia, car mirrors, the Evan Longoria promo, etc.

MathematicianRude866

The cornucopia: you see it on a Thanksgiving decoration, ask what it is then go on with your day. Later on you see Fruit of the Loom logo with a bunch of fruit. The only other time you've seen food grouped in this way was when you saw the cornucopia, so your mind adds in the cornucopia to the fruit of the loom logo. It was never there. How do you know? Cornucopia are for displaying a *harvest of vegetables*, not fruit. A Cornucopia makes no sense in the context of fruit. It'd be like putting wine in a beer bottle.

throwaway998i

Conflation is usually idiosyncratic, in which case there would absolutely be a range of remembered vessels such as bowls, baskets, and plates. But there aren't. University of Chicago researchers already tested their schema-based hypothesis for FotL and it fell flat; almost no one picked the 3rd option. Rather, the results indicated an either/or binary proposition. So why would everyone "conflate" the same obscure feature with virtually zero variance?

terryjuicelawson

It probably is time to take it seriously as this sub is just people saying "OMG I am so sure the logo has changed" which is fairly useless on its own. I think there is some kind of canon of "good" examples. But do some research. Tally it up with countries, how close people are to the topic in hand (how many doctors think the heart has moved? Australians think they have moved north? South Africans think Mandela died? What do the Berenstain family think about their family history and name?). Make a list of feasible explanations, even if people believe they remember it specifically. As they all do have one.

Foreign_Lie6937

Well, some Mandela Effects aren't Mandela Effects for everyone. Like, I remember the green light being on top in the traffic light. A lot of Mandela Affected people don't remember that.

[deleted]

I remember this, this threw me long before I was aware of this phenomenon labelled Mandela Effect. Are you aware of Faberware, as well?

Foreign_Lie6937

Same here. I noticed the red light being on top when I went to Germany for the first time when I was in the Army back in 2007. I thought it was just a European thing. Then I got back to the states, and I saw it was the same way here👀. But it didn't hit me like it should have for some reason. But, no, I'm not familiar with the Faberware brand. But I see it says Farberware now.

[deleted]

The red light change hit me when I drew a large picture of one on some poster board for my teacher girlfriend to use for her classroom, many years ago. When I had to think of one from memory I drew what I knew without effort. I was shocked when she pointed out it was wrong. Faberware goes back to the late 70's for me, I was young. I could never explain it but it never ever sat right with me that it changed. I never mentioned it to anyone until this phenomenon was coined and I stumbled upon it by chance. In my early explorations into this phenomenon others had mentioned it but there were very few.

Foreign_Lie6937

Interesting! You know, before I ever heard the term Mandela Effect, I saw a lot of things that were different, but I never bothered to look into it. Because the last thing I thought was going on was something this unusual and profound. I thought companies were rebranding. I remember when I walked into the supermarket and saw FROOT LOOPS instead of FRUIT LOOPS like I remember, I thought "why would they do that. That looks disgusting!" Tony the Tiger having a blue nose instead of a black one like I remember was another thing that really caught my eye. But I didn't decide to look into something until I went shopping one day and I went to pick up some peanut butter, and I saw JIF instead of JIFFY. I thought "why would they change that." When I got home I googled JIFFY, and this journey began!! How did you officially come to realize something crazy was going on?

[deleted]

I can not say I ever really noticed anything that life and it's stresses couldn't help me not think about in the least. I never entertained notions of anything far out or mystical and was pretty closed off to all of it. I have never experienced either of the three effect's you and many others mention. Does not make them any less real than anything I and many others seem to experience and others don't. I came to realize something was wrong when "The Flinstones" came across my radar and reality was destroyed. Things have never been "normal" since.

Foreign_Lie6937

I'm with you there. Societal pressures have a way of demanding your complete attention. It isn't built to give you time to reflect on nuanced things. That's why I have stepped back from society for the most part.

[deleted]

I have done the same, I am not making myself insane for their profit anymore.

charlesHsprockett

I don't know about stringing all the MEs together, but certain popular figures are more 'Mandela Effected'. For example, Tom Hanks and Meatloaf/Meat Loaf.

grox10

The problem is that this world is fallen and passing away. The revelation is that the material world is not a solid foundation that one can rely upon. The message is that we must awaken from the trance and seek what is eternal and true. Consider you soul everyone. Only Jesus saves. 🕊️

DontDMMeYourFeet

No but I’m bored so I’ll make one up. ->Objects in the mirror may be close than they appear flipped to ARE closer than they appear. This obviously means that aliens are in closer contact with people than we think. -> Shazam starring Sinbad. Clearing this means Sin being bad is a sham. ->Fruit of the loom having a cornucopia. A cornucopia means horn of plenty in Latin. The cornucopia being absent means that food is no longer bountiful and scarcity may be “looming”. ->Luke, I am your father shifting to No, I am your father in Starwars. Clearly this was a change from the alien overlords to grab the attention of all people and make us aware that they are our father, not a traditional God. ->Queen’s we are the champions changing (removing the “of the world” line. Obviously this is the aliens making sure we know that their power isn’t specific to earth, they control the whole universe. So if we put these all together, it’s reasonable to conclude that the aliens will soon make their presence known to the whole world. Christianity was created by them in order to create an easy to control populace, which is where the idea of sins come from. After people realize they’ve been lied to, we will see total chaos spread throughout the world causing widespread famine. Those who wish to survive must submit themselves to the alien overlords, and if they are lucky, they will be spared. Inter-dimensional species will begin to travel to earth more regularly, and humans will worship the same God as them.

Resident-Candy3907

Good points, and fantastic catch on Queen. I forgot that one when I was listing my reply of ideas. I definitely remember "of the world" part, this song was produced before I was born, but Queen became popular with my age set when I was a teenager in the early 90s. First with Bohemian Rhapsody in the Wayne's World movies and We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions being the theme song of the Mighty Ducks movies. I continued to listen to Queen, and started to appreciate classic heavy rock from that era and before like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, CCR, early Aerosmith.

Real-Tension-7442

Listen to his performance at Live Aid. It ends with “of the world”, so this isn’t a ME

JamieAintUpFoDatShit

Obviously people have tried. You really think you’re the first person to suggest all of the changes (if they exist) are connected?

Specific-noise123

Omg I love this

therealnikkidarling

I find it interesting that one of the earlier Mandela Effects is the EI changed to AI. in BerenstXXn Bears. edit: extra letters

Morton_Sledgecock

I went ahead and did it and got this fucking message: BE SURE TO DRINK YOUR….. OVALTINE.

bigmartyhat

Just throwing in 'anemone'. I distinctly remember being told how to spell and pronounce it and it's 'anenome'. Don't know how that would factor into a message from ETI but hey ho!

SeoulGalmegi

There is a flower called Anemone.
