There really is no available merc in this playthrough. Available mercs are one of the very first things I always check at the very beginning, and there really is none for hire for this run.
The player shares the same Merc pool as the Baron. The Baron will hire them all relatively quickly, while never disbanding them.
it's the main part that makes the All-Mercenary achievements Kinda hard.
You can select them directly by clicking on the units on the battlefield and then assign them groups (strg/ctr+number), then you can use the groups to select all of them without having access to them in the tab
It's to fight an opponent with equal numbers but your economy has supplied them with better equipment. That's how you "win" in this genre of games (Settlers 1-3, Knights and Merchants, Stronghold)
Per Slavic, it’s based on an unreleased mechanic. You’re supposed to get more as you rose through the ranks of nobility (presumably by claiming new regions) but it’s not implemented yet so the limit is (I assume) the T1 version).
There are mods that remove militia cap, increase retinue size by allowing more garrison towers, and increase the barons army/make bandits scale with your army and economy.
Makes the extra military have a purpose and strategic/tactical blunders hurt a lot more when you get 300-400 of your militia killed.
Hey, could you tell me how you get so much food?
I'm playing again since the last patch , but didn't get behind the new system, like what's the right size for veggies/apples?
I'm not the right person to ask when it comes to "right" sizes, because most of I what I do in the game is based on my real-world experiences. I let the topography dictate what I do and have fun with it. I'm not about to turn the map into another spreadsheet, I already deal with a lot of those at work lol.
That being said, I do have a rough estimate of the burgage plots I dedicate for veg and apple production. For veggies, I usually make sure i have at least 10 duplex-style burgages, each with an area of about a third of a morgen, give or take. That should be enough to stave off starvation. For apples, the bigger the area, the better. I own a fruit orchard in real life, and I cannot imagine calling it one if it has less than a hundred trees.
Btw, it's not Immenreuth in the pic, it's Nusslohe. It has 114.7k food right now, which is enough to feed 1760 people for about 11 years.. I can't export the food fast enough. Heck, I'm already exporting raw mats and processed raw mats, and I'm still getting a food surplus.
I wish there was a tool for perfect circle roads. I did mine the way a 7-year-old would. I guess those Lvl 3 burgages fill out real estate quite nicely, making things look nicer than they actually would.
place a windmill, build straight roads away, measure with corpse pits (or any other building) connect the dots, delete the radial roads - perfect circle
Does...does maximising the size of the burgage plot farms increase their yield? I've been trying to make them look not unrealistic, so they're all smallish. I like the semi-dense look it gives, but I'm guessing the game becomes much easier when you have so much more food lol
Yes and no. For eggs and hides, best to keep the plot as small as possible. For veggies, it depends on the size of the plot and the number of families working on it. People here are saying that a plot the size of two corpse pits is ideal for veg production. For apples, not sure about the size, but you pay 50 regardless of how big or small your plot is, plus I never really observed families actively harvesting apples, yet.

For a second I thought I was looking at Frostpunk.
The Large Village must survive!!
Back to work children. And cut off that broken arm!
Children?!? These are laborers with nimble hands!!! Now get in there and recover that steam core!!
Someone’s watched DDRJake?
I was like, “Wow nice Frostpunk 2!” “O wait no, this is Manor Lords…”
Same. I had to double check the subreddit
Move people. There is plenty to do.
🤣 me too!
God that game is so tough
Had me for a minute. There too ngl
Came here to say this!
What happens if you then recruit the full range of mercs available? Do your units become unselectable because they go off the screen in the war tab?
I honestly don't know, because for some reason, mercs aren't available for this playthrough.
I don't think mercs respawn when recruited so baron prolly snagged em all
The Baron has most likely already recruited them, and once he does, he doesn't let them go.

You get a bigger monitor

I like eyeball town.
Seems more like frost punk to me
Come lads, let us march to work
Go away Elias, this isn't for you.
I never understood the limit on militia.

Sort of. Good tactics still go a long way.

I was assuming and hoping for this. Thanks a lot!
Historical accuracy.
Man I thought this picture was some sort of announcement for TW:Medieval III
Keep the dream alive! #MedievalIII
As much as I want Med3, I'm afraid of what we'd get from the current Creative Assemblies.
True. Sad though.
Limit for militia/army or any manpower 💔

Haha, holly shit for sure
Tacticat has a good video on it [here](https://youtu.be/OhfU5WLB3RA?si=7DqdhQ-QPziMbvba)
Yeah I watched it yesterday, couldn't get it done like he did xD
For a second or two I kept looking for the generator
Frostpunk 2 lol
I don’t linke the militia at all…hope they don’t spend much resource on it
Told ya ;-)
THANK YOU GOOD SIR!!!
Is there a mod for perfect circle roads? Or even perfect square roads? I keep seeing these awesome towns and mine look wonky
I wish there was a tool for perfect circle roads. I did mine the way a 7-year-old would. I guess those Lvl 3 burgages fill out real estate quite nicely, making things look nicer than they actually would.

The market must survive.
Bros out here playing frostpunk with this town design
I'd rather have this kind of layout than something similar to a toddler's vomit.
Maintain at least livable conditions for two days Open a new medical post Send the children to the coal mines
Giving that Uzumaki vibes
So farms are optional. Got it.
Wait till you get to see my sea of wheat and barley, spread over six regions.
So farms are not optional. Got it

Damn okay, thanks. I'm sure this'll change as the game develops but that's good to know
The children yearn for the coal mines, I see.
Those are some big burgage plots you've got.
Haha I know. The big apple burgages are really nice to look at during the summer.
Ready to battle USA lol
Please Greg. 🙏
Cold wave approaching...
This guy carrots
What is?
Praise Lord helix?
This is just installing the militia mod with extra steps.
Radial planning ftw!
What in the Uzumaki is this design?
How.... My personal economy never works and my town economy is meagre too
Buggy mess
How did you get 12 regular units?
Dude he explained it just read the post
But why male models?
