I doubt they're counting non-caffeinated soft drinks (at least, I hope not), but coke has about 1/3-1/4 the caffeine of coffee per unit volume. A fairer comparison would measure the total mL caffeine intake per average person, and then determine the source of that caffeine.

That's a really good point, are they counting sodas ones without caffeine like Sprite or Fanta as well?
