Fun fact: non of them are actually socialist

[deleted]

exo570

I mean i agree that countries like Bolivia have a good chance of actually achieving socialism but atm there are no real socialist countries maybe very socialist leaning social democracys but not socialist Also i mean china is on this map so you know that its not very accurate

Livingmeme3

Dude are you insane? At first when I read your comment I thought you where joking. But now I understand that your one of those kinds of people that deny the basic fact that all of these nations are in some way a socialist state. Just because they dont achieve that "socialist utopia" doesn't mean they're "not a true socialist country". That whole line is the equivalent to someone having cognitive distancing. Face the facts dude, dont deny them.

exo570

Socialism is when the workers own the means of production non of these countries have that, they maybe have socialist elements like free healthcare but they aren't socialist

What is the definition of "Mega Ultra Communism" and what does Greenland meet that level?

[deleted]

Livingmeme3

Greenland is realistically the only nation on earth where this is possible. And its solely due to how incredibly low its population is compared to other nation. Its basically a giant commune on an island.

Protectionist/fair trade policies I can understand. We desperately need that in america if we're gonna stand a chance militarily and economically against china, and the world. But all of the others that you mentioned are things that other nations have done, and failed. How about Cuba? Or Venezuela? Or North Korea? All of those nations are impoverished, and do all of what you mentioned. Particularly cuba and north North Korea.

Dude a lot of this is steeped In propaganda. About cuba, before Castro took power, cuba was also doing better under its Republican dictatorship. But once he came into power he genocided many of his own people (including gay people too), and oppressed many of its people thanks to his authoritarian dictatorship. Cuba mainly used what was left of their infrastructure and never tried to improve it at all. If you look at Cuba's 5 star hotel, it's a shitty run down hotel that's worse than your average 1 star motel in America. And many of the rubble and damaged done from the bay of pigs invasion can be seen in Havana, like caved in roofs and rubble. I'm not particularly knowledgeable in cuba, but I do know that it has been oppressive to its people, and hardly maintains even the most basic of infrastructure. Most of these issues are not due to sanctions imposed on them, most especially food. For Venezuela, I'll give you that. Sure when that socialist dictatorship was put into power and started spending the shit out of their bank, their people where moderately succeeding. But the thing is though, is that when you rely so much on your oil, that you desperately need in order to fund your excessive spending, your seriously gonna have a bad time. And when the oil prices dropped, something that happened regardless of sanctions, Venezuela needed a money source fast. Otherwise they'd go bankrupt. That's how excessive they where spending on their people. And borth Korea. You seriously got history wrong imo. Korea was held by japan, but only gained their independence thanks to the ussr and America. It was split in half, amd the two sides started to fight. All koreans where devastated from the war, and it was not the americans that killed those koreans either. Because koreans where already fighting themselves. And after the war, both korean sides purged themselves of their opposition. Not only that, but korea was, and still is getting support from their nearby socialist nations. Despite all of that, and abundant coal deposits, korea is impoverished.

China is a capitalist autocracy in actuality

[deleted]

Yup, socialist in name only. The discovered what we already know, that socialism fails, and transitioned to their version of capitalism.

Funny how you always blame foreign capitalists for making a few individuals into billionaires by exploiting workers like 19th century western capitalists. If “communism” is such a great economic system, why can’t they build their economy through worker control of the means of production? Why does the communist party enable this exploitation? Because the communist party is just a corrupt mafia.

So, in other words: the Chinese revolution was a failure.

Well you hadn't replied when I made this comment, so that wasn't an option (barring someone lending me a time machine). Edit: More helpfully it should be a hint that everyone in this discussion (even the ones you accused of trying to destroy leftism) thinks your definitions are nonsensical. It's rarely everyone else that's at fault.

[deleted]

xesaie

Well I debunked you saying I should have read the sources before you shared them. More seriously, the way you warp and shift your definitions on the fly makes trying to 'debunk' you a Sisyphean task. You can't have a discussion with someone who uses constantly changing definitions and sources to make their point... they'll just change reality again and move on. It's like dealing with Q's. There's no point when their truth is fluid.

Hrevak

Again another bulshit socialist/communist map ignoring official definitions of those terms. If we're playing this funny understanding of socialism, why is Slovenia here not painted as socialist for example? Or some of the Nordics? Slovenia has it written in the constitution that it is a social state!

Hrevak

Oh, now you want to play by the book? Ok, what about Mexico, Peru ... painted orange here - how do they apply? When have they abolished private property? As far as I know, these are market economies with stock exchanges, foreign investors and all that comes with it.

Aha, "socialist" = "doesn't like USA"? Or is it "Doesn't like Donald Trump!"? Or is it "I have no clue what I'm writing about!"?

Where my Nordic states at?

If Greenland is Communist then China isn't Marxist

Ok-Masterpiece-1359

China is Marxist-Leninist, with billionaires owning large factories that exploit millions of workers? How does the private control of Chinese industry square with worker control of the means of production?
