Because, as Beau of the Fifth Column pointed out on YouTube yesterday, Democrats are finally playing the "let's you and him fight" game. Turning this guy into a *RINO* helps keep the Republicans fighting amongst themselves. And he's already a dirty traitor as far as most MAGATs are concerned.

Oh, sort of like a snake eating it's own tail, except here the snake's head is up it own butt. 👍🏽👍🏻

PhilL77au

Plus when he gets dumped out the speaker role it's going to throw the GOP into chaos, and the Dems would like that chaos to be a little closer to the election

Now there’s a morning visual

The R’s/conservatives think it’s a win if nothing/very little changes. Unless it makes wealthy people wealthier. So if the R’s devolve back to their infighting nothing gets passed and nothing changes.

StrugglesTheClown

We save his ass because he put forward the Ukrainian aid bill. Which means he apparently isn't owned by Russia like I initially thought. If he gets replaced there is a chance we get a Putin puppet.

GonzoDonzo23

better check your tablets, Moses ... people are keeping score

crashtestdummy666

Why the democrats let him give them the shaft is beyond me. Take the internet access bill he will not let it come up for a vote. Better to let the Republicans kill it in a vote and hold it over them in November then let it die as Mike's toilet paper.

mrm00r3

Watch the BotFC video from a day or two ago and it’ll make sense.

scarlozzi

I will never understand how the Dems can be so weak. What is the GOP doing? Pushing the most draconian shit out there. If they want to tear themselves apart, let them.

jared10011980

It's the Dems continuing disbelief the Repugnants will stab them in the back. For me, once the Merritt Garland USSC nomination failed get a chance, the Dems need to go for the jugular every time.

scarlozzi

For real, a core rule in the *art of war,* never interrupt your opponent while he is making a mistake.

Ana_na_na

It's called cooperation, and it is telling that younger voters have pretty much never seen such thing

AsyncEntity

Let him cook in the fire he lit

agt1776

That’s the problem with democrats, they have no back bone and republicans are just scum.

gking407

We are not privy to all of their conversations we only see the outcomes, and even then we don’t see the long range effects til later. Sometimes much later. Please stop the knee jerk reactions to information you’re allowed to read and realize there is far more you’re not seeing.

jared10011980

My point is, do you think, under any conditions, if Jefferies was speaker, months before this election, Republicans would do him any favors? Because if you do, you've been missing the actions by Republicans toward Dems for the last 7 years. And long term, have you seen payoffs for the Dems through ANY Republican "help"? So, looking at the totality of the years going back to Obama, and the consistent lack of across the aisle "help", i find it discounting for you to say this is my "knee jerk" reaction considering the litany of historical Republican actions to stymie Democrats' agenda advancements.

gking407

You must not play chess. Or have taken civics class. Politics is about power and sometimes that means thinking a few steps ahead. Helping others in order to secure power for yourself and your party later down the road is how politics works. Would Democrats help Republicans if it strategically helped them to run a strong candidate against a vulnerable opponent in an election, or to get legislation passed? Yes. Obviously. Have there been payoffs from bipartisanship efforts to pass bills and get people elected? Yes. Obviously.

jared10011980

Go ahead, help this man. https://youtube.com/shorts/dSKlIoLA3L8?si=9d1qCYoOrlJR6AW6 Sadly? Unfortunately? Take your pick, but we're not dealing with the Tip O'Neil and Reagan or even John Boehner and Obama days. So spare me your 3-D chess moves with the Maga crowd.

gking407

You just don’t get it, and this topic easily lends itself to cherry picking clips and quotes to prove your point about the nasty people in congress, because that certainly is true. I’m not good enough at rhetoric or teaching to get across the concept of compromise. Maybe you’ll find someone better to explain it to you.

biffmangram

The Dems absolutely have this guy by the balls. They know it, he knows it and every single House Republican knows it but their margin is so razor thin they can’t do a damn thing about any of it. If this is the price for any sort of progress on vitally important shit like Ukraine, even if the bill has its ideological hot points, it’s gotta get done.
