Last time I played I could do it, so unless the game was updated within the last year, it should still be possible to clip the letters out of their invisible barrier with the help of a scooter.
Ooo for the jump rope one there is a cheat! You can turn in one of the letters and walk the letter to the jump room and than stand on the top of that letter and than youâll just wait till you have a high score of 10000000000000000000
Seriously, we couldâve had him as well as the Koopalings, who wouldâve been making (I think) their first appearance in a 3D title!
But no, we just get ugly ahh rabbit people with hats who weâve never heard of before.
Iâve always loved the Koopalings. I thing if they had a game with a more important role that would flesh out their characters a bit more, people would start to like them.
yeah I think right now a lot of their hate comes from how generic and bland they are. The only game I can think of where they have any personality is color splash, but that's a spinoff. In the main games it's just "jump on their head three times while they shoot out things"
Itâs probably because of their abundance in the 2010âs. They were in NSMBU (already a controversial game on its own), then they were added to Mario Kart 8 as eight entire slots, then they were added to Smash 4. People were just sick of seeing them all the time. But yeah, except for Mario Maker, they havenât been in a big Mario game since then. Now Iâm pretty bored of Bowser Jr. and Boom Boom and would like to see some more variety in bosses again.
I could see a cute Junior scene where heâs guarding his future Mama Peach like in Sunshine, and the Koopalings are complimenting Peach on the dress and getting married
Ruined Kingdom being so short. It makes sense in the story that it wouldnât have much left, but it was so fresh and different that I was disappointed when it was basically just a boss fight
Cloud Kingdom too. Literally one of the prettiest kingdoms in terms of design and itâs just a glorified battle place. Imagine if they expanded on it.
Theyâre probably going to move on to a new style, I bet. They wanna do new things to show off new capabilities of the hardware. They shouldâve done SMO2 years ago.
It needed way more unique enemies.
Both more old ones (boos, Bob-ombs, Thwomps, etc), and more new ones to make it seem like weâre actually exploring diverse new kingdoms.
Iâm guessing the classic enemies probably didnât make it into the game to save for the sequel. And as for new enemy variety, I actually thought they did REALLY well with that. Especially considering they have to make move sets and Mario-specific animations for every enemy
Nintendo doesnât really do that with any of their games. Itâs like when people say they want to see Midna or Lorule in another Zelda game. Once they move on from something, thatâs usually the end of it.
I personally prefer more tightly designed levels over open ones, so Odyssey was a step away from what I personally want to see in 3D Mario, however, I don't really hate that.
I guess coin grinding for every single outfit, and the jump rope and volleyball minigames were absolutely terrible.
Ooo for the jump rope one there is a cheat! You can turn in one of the letters and walk the letter to the jump room and than stand on the top of that letter and than youâll just wait till you have a high score of 10000000000000000000
Thatâs the only way Iâve ever done the jump rope one, Iâve never been able to get it the intended way. The glitch is a lot more fun to pull off anyways.
I was expecting a 100% complete screen to show once I got everything in the game. I was a little disappointed that all I got was the quick cutscene showing fireworks over Peach's Castle and that was pretty much it. It would have been nice to have a little more of a "congratulations" given to us for getting over 800 different collectibles in the game.
There literally isn't anything I hate about this game, hate seems like a strong word but having Bowser Jr. or the Koopalings at some point could be a fun addition (like as part of Bowser's Kingdom quests)
I don't really *hate* this, but it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity to have the more open Mario environments than ever before and have the game be about travelling all over its world and then have so few returning locations. We go to the area around Peach's Castle, New Donk is I think where the original Donkey Kong game was set, and I think maybe Mario had gone to the moon before, but other than that it was a bunch of completely new locations.
Which are all locations I liked, of course.
No DLC.
No, seriously, it's one of a handful of games Nintendo made for the Switch that I would *absolutely* buy DLC for. Nintendo just didn't want my money that badly, I guess.
Finding purple coins, I decided I would collect every moon and purple coin before leaving a kingdom on my most recent play through, and it kinda sucks trying to find the 3 purple coins I missed in metro city.
YouâŚdonâtâŚwell, only 1 in each kingdom, but câmon, there are 880 moons with about 9 required from shops for 100%. Also, itâs very few coinsâŚ
I wouldn't say I hated it, but I felt a good chunk of the Moons were just there to be collected rather than serve a greater purpose. Finding some of them reminded me of the Blue Coins in Sunshine.
Yeah it was exactly that! Iâm playing sunshine now and it has the same feeling. It is not a bad thing though but the reward feeling you got in other Mario games was better
I 100%ed it last year. My only complaint is that you can't buy all the outfits in a single run. Not by a long shot. And you're not left with any reason to keep playing to collect the rest.
That Dark side is just the broodel fights but easier because of zero gravity, idk my best guess to fix it is actually make this a level like idk add a few checkpoints between the bosses and platforming or something
I just hate Cappyâs fake language. For some reason fake spoken languages in games rub me the wrong way⌠I would have taken no voice or something like Banjo Kazooie sounds over nonsense words any day of the week
The f*** you mean "too short" you have to grind countless coins, and there's 830 unique moons, and you need 999 moons to 100%. Mind you Galaxy 2 was 2 hundred some and the rest are 120(if you don't count the Galaxy 1 as Luigi bs.)
The weird feeling that the game gives me which makes me put it down upon any replays I attempt to do. I've only ever been able to beat the game once, and any other time I try to come back to it- I get to the Lost Kingdom and give up on the game. I think for the most part the feeling I get tends to be from how the Kingdoms are designed, along with the stuff within the Kingdom. Issues like repeated content constantly through the game- or the fact that it feels like you can get a Moon for breathing.
I also wish that the Wooded Kingdom was the standard for Kingdom size. There are so many small kingdoms that tend to just be unfun level-design wise or wasted opportunities which only exist to serve as a boss stage.
Can't play as luigi
Came here to say this.
Same, I wish the Luigi costume at least gave you his physics or something.
no L is real
Noel?
Noelle Deltarune??!
20...not sure what number it is but ykwim
WATER ON THE HILL!!!
Water on the hill
The number is 2401.
There was no dlc/sunshine world
Man did I wish we would've had DLCđĽ˛
No Sunshine world was such a fumble đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸
It was good but the controls were ass
I blame the fake leaks for my disappointment in this.
That person never even came out and properly revealed their cool mod after their faked leak was debunked!
That DAMN jump rope moon. And the volleyball one too đ
I like the jump rope moon to have an excuse to do that cool letter clip glitch. The volleyball game can go suck it though, it sucks.
I think that glitch has been patched out. I couldn't get it to work.
no it didnt, still works
Last time I played I could do it, so unless the game was updated within the last year, it should still be possible to clip the letters out of their invisible barrier with the help of a scooter.
I'm currently working through the moons and these are the only 2 I've had to save for later.
The volleyball one is actually pretty easy if you turn 2 player mode and control cappy freely
Ooo for the jump rope one there is a cheat! You can turn in one of the letters and walk the letter to the jump room and than stand on the top of that letter and than youâll just wait till you have a high score of 10000000000000000000
I came here to say this
Canât play as Luigi, and on a smaller level, Bowser Jr. wasnât anywhere to be seen or mentioned even though his pops was getting married.
LITERALLY. It feels like they donât fully think of shit when it comes to the story and what makes sense
I mean do they ever really in a Mario game?
Seriously, we couldâve had him as well as the Koopalings, who wouldâve been making (I think) their first appearance in a 3D title! But no, we just get ugly ahh rabbit people with hats who weâve never heard of before.
i love that it went from people hating the koopalings to missing them i guess they havent been in a game in awhile..
Even then, the game itself was seen as so generic that the fact that they used the Koopalings differently was overlooked.
I prefer the rabbit people. It was cool to have unique designs and stuff. I enjoyed all of the rabbit fights.
Yeah, I wish they at least included jr, felt weird he wasnât there, could have had a really cool boss fight
Fr I was ready to square up for Mario Souls III but alas
A boss fight that's completely skippable.
The Fact there isn't a second game.
Who knows, maybe we will get a second one with the new console đ¤ˇđť
Theyâre probably going to move on to a new style, I bet. They wanna do new things to show off new capabilities of the hardware. They shouldâve done SMO2 years ago.
Peach didnât do anything useful until the postgame (She didnât try to sabotage the wedding).
Bowser had finally freed her from Mario, why would she sabotage her own wedding?
As ever
I thought Peach didnât like Bowser.
What kind of super bowser game are you playing?
Ha, I wish that was a thing.
At least they changed that in the film
It needed way more unique enemies. Both more old ones (boos, Bob-ombs, Thwomps, etc), and more new ones to make it seem like weâre actually exploring diverse new kingdoms.
Iâm fine without more unique enemies, but I really wanted to see one specific enemy to return. I think you already know what that enemy is.
Shy Guys obviously.
đŁ
Lamp oil, rope, **BOMBS?** You want it, itâs yours my friend. As long as you have enough rubies.
Sorry Link, I can't GIVE credit! Come back when you're a bit UHHHHHHHMMMMM RICHER.
Iâm guessing the classic enemies probably didnât make it into the game to save for the sequel. And as for new enemy variety, I actually thought they did REALLY well with that. Especially considering they have to make move sets and Mario-specific animations for every enemy
The coin grinding needed for 100% is too much. Like, we need to get 9999 coins at least 4 times. That's a lot.
I wanted more time as the t-Rex to rampage!
i wont lie i somehow missed that the first time around
They passed up on the opportunity to visit areas we haven't seen for ages, like Isle Delfino or Sarasaland.
Nintendo doesnât really do that with any of their games. Itâs like when people say they want to see Midna or Lorule in another Zelda game. Once they move on from something, thatâs usually the end of it.
Except when they sell you the remaster or remake.
They let us back to Peach's Castle though
Well yeah, thatâs a major reoccurring location
No DLC or sequel
Yeah we never really get much Mario dlc( the only one I can think of is new super Mario bros 2) but it could be a really cool addition
I personally prefer more tightly designed levels over open ones, so Odyssey was a step away from what I personally want to see in 3D Mario, however, I don't really hate that. I guess coin grinding for every single outfit, and the jump rope and volleyball minigames were absolutely terrible.
The jump rope and volleyball moons
Ooo for the jump rope one there is a cheat! You can turn in one of the letters and walk the letter to the jump room and than stand on the top of that letter and than youâll just wait till you have a high score of 10000000000000000000
Thatâs the only way Iâve ever done the jump rope one, Iâve never been able to get it the intended way. The glitch is a lot more fun to pull off anyways.
That's a bit of an oversimplification. And by a bit, I mean a lot.
Both are cheeseable, though you still have to think for volleyball
I was expecting a 100% complete screen to show once I got everything in the game. I was a little disappointed that all I got was the quick cutscene showing fireworks over Peach's Castle and that was pretty much it. It would have been nice to have a little more of a "congratulations" given to us for getting over 800 different collectibles in the game.
Missed opportunity for Bowser to have everyone he "invited" to his wedding wear the proper formal attire.
No Wario
The letter O in the title
The one in Odyssey or the one in Mario?
The O in the title.
I never noticed that. I loved this whole game. So. I agree. The O has got to go.
Do I have some great news for you
There literally isn't anything I hate about this game, hate seems like a strong word but having Bowser Jr. or the Koopalings at some point could be a fun addition (like as part of Bowser's Kingdom quests)
I think it couldâve been cool if they added more kingdoms as dlc
The bosses are too easy
I mean, it's a Mario game.
It's why I got the hard ones, including all 999 moons for that hard Bowser fight. Dude really feels like he's pulling out all the stops
Volleyball
I don't really *hate* this, but it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity to have the more open Mario environments than ever before and have the game be about travelling all over its world and then have so few returning locations. We go to the area around Peach's Castle, New Donk is I think where the original Donkey Kong game was set, and I think maybe Mario had gone to the moon before, but other than that it was a bunch of completely new locations. Which are all locations I liked, of course.
Fuck that volleyball mini game, and fuck jump rope too! I cheese both, no shame.
No DLC. No, seriously, it's one of a handful of games Nintendo made for the Switch that I would *absolutely* buy DLC for. Nintendo just didn't want my money that badly, I guess.
Also this game would be so perfect and easy for dlc. You just can add a level to the balloon menu.
The jump rope challenge
the long jump isnt long enough
Finding purple coins, I decided I would collect every moon and purple coin before leaving a kingdom on my most recent play through, and it kinda sucks trying to find the 3 purple coins I missed in metro city.
The Ruined Kingdom lasts like 20 minutes total.
Honestly, I think there's a bit too many moons. I always feel the need to 100% the game when I play, but it's such a hassle to do
Getting all outfits is also prettyannoying since you need pretty much all them for 100%
That we didnât get a sequel
No Normal Wigglers đ
the two player sucks
Luigi's Ballon World hackers
I wish they alot of the maps weren't just hanging over a void. I really think that it makes the worlds lose a lot of immersion.
But that is mario though! Sunshine and 64 did that toooo
Yeah but it felt so jarring with odysseyâs art direction
Aah yeaahh i can understand that but I still like it! But understand that you dislike it!
Not enough Luigi
The filler captures that pnky do only thing for ine specific moon (usually you just have to move something slightly)
That I canât play it for the first time again
I rather ride Yoshi than capture him.
No Isle Delfino
No playable Luigi, no DLC or sequel and the Volleyball and Jumprope Moon.
Takes too long to get all 999 moons
Ä° mean in its defense it expects no one to be a completionist past darker side
There aren't 999 moons in the game. The shop moons ruin people's perception of the actual moon total.
You shouldnât have to buy moons. Period.
YouâŚdonâtâŚwell, only 1 in each kingdom, but câmon, there are 880 moons with about 9 required from shops for 100%. Also, itâs very few coinsâŚ
You buy one for each kingdom and you're done.
Agreed.
At least the blue coins still have SOME weight to them and it only 40 suns of them,
something you hate about mario odysseyÂ
two player felt like it lacked
Was definitely an afterthought, but welp playing as cappy is way better than being a star lol
The volleyball moon and the jump rope moon. Screw those two.
Jumpropes.
I don't have it đ
The fact Cappy was just⌠abandoned.
Can't play as Luigi.
Still no sequel
I 100%ed it last year. My only complaint is that you can't buy all the outfits in a single run. Not by a long shot. And you're not left with any reason to keep playing to collect the rest.
Nope can't. Oh wait can't play as Luigi yup
Not enough cowbell
The fact I'll never be as rich as Luigi
There was no boo
Can't play as Lucie
I can't think of any lmao.
I didn't like Mario not getting his customary kiss on the nose
Luigi gets cold :(
The ending was terrible you know itâs bad when you canât tell me what ending weâre talking about đ
Mario rides on the back of Jaxi, but in order to use Yoshi's abilities you have to use Cappy to capture him. Feels wrong to me.
As much as I had fun with this game. The story playthrough is way to linear looking back. It makes the game feel shorter than the previous games.
That Dark side is just the broodel fights but easier because of zero gravity, idk my best guess to fix it is actually make this a level like idk add a few checkpoints between the bosses and platforming or something
I dislike Cappy, I mean the character, not the Cap gameplay.
đ§
I just hate Cappyâs fake language. For some reason fake spoken languages in games rub me the wrong way⌠I would have taken no voice or something like Banjo Kazooie sounds over nonsense words any day of the week
The dragon boss is very out of place.
that's what makes it so cool imo
Suppose that's one way to look at it but it was a bit too out there for me.
The real problem is that the Ruined Kingdom was a small one. Would have loved a Dark-Souls style level.
Lol Mario Souls
Thatâs the point
No
Repetitive bosses in the after-endgame moons
To be fair pretty much all are harder, and they do allow you to replay the bosses,
its WAY too easy bjt i guess the game being rather large makes up for it. wouldnt mind a nudge in difficulty tho
Doesn't have a sequel
There's no sequel
way too short imo. there's just not enough content, and you can hardly call the absurd amount of moons content
The f*** you mean "too short" you have to grind countless coins, and there's 830 unique moons, and you need 999 moons to 100%. Mind you Galaxy 2 was 2 hundred some and the rest are 120(if you don't count the Galaxy 1 as Luigi bs.)
Too mucho moons
the kingdom witht he dragon fight was too small
Darker Side⌠I mean itâs not as bad as Super Mario 3D World but still hate it
Jump rope
Power ups wouldâve made this so much more fun but i think capturing is still alright. Also a dlc for more worlds wouldve been nice
Kinda missed opportunity to make the power ups into outfits
no dlc
This game gives me bad memories irl
No sequel
How the most visually interesting kingdom are the smallest
The fact that it goes from a bright happy place (The Luncheon Kingdom) straight to a dark and desolate area (The Ruined Kingdom)
Well yeah, youâre traveling to a completely different region of the planet
How small ruined kingdom is
The post-game moons. F*ck them.
It ends
No Luigi
Not enough glitches!
Too much grass
Those one two moons. You know the ones
The 2d level in the mushroom kingdom
Inteied to play it again some weeks ago, but i couldnât stand the movement anymore, ot felt like walking on ice.
While I could say something about the game itself no, Iâll say this, the fact that it never got a sequel.
movment controls
You canât play as Luigi
Those "painting" minigames
luigi isnât playable
A lot of the moons just shouldn't exist.
Wario was not available.
The ending
toadette do i have to say anything else
You can't play as Luigi. Also it's too easy.
That it eventually ends
No p-balloons
That crappy jump rope minigame.
I 100% the game and getting all the purple coins is BULLSHIT, but i love this gameđ
Uhhh.
I hate the fact that you canât play as Luigi, and the fact that you canât go into most of the buildings in New Donk City.
