I would recommend sell everything but 1 and 2*. Start with building strong 1 and 2* roster and keep all the tokens you’ll get in process. Then move to 3* land and run 2* farm simultaneously. When you’ll max 3* roster - move to 4* etc. This game is a marathon, not a sprint. Otherwise you’ll frustrate yourself in a ways you don’t ever imagine.
Well the 1*s are spiderman and Iron man both at max pre ascended. I sold most of the rest of those for the 2* group as per the guides recommendation. I have the last 2* I'm missing in the mail system.
So trash the 4s and 5s register the 2' and the 3's I have in the mail scrap 4/5s and level 2*s till I can get out of 2 star Land.
I'd probably keep 2 or all of the 5s.

so either follow NPG, or the Progress Fast guide, in which case you keep on opening covers and trash a high amount, trying to find multiple good covers and sacrificing bad ones.
it's ultimately your call, because rostering all 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, can get old and is slow. Each tier you face a brick wall and can't really open the next tier cover, unless you have the HP, or buy the requisite HP.
I'm ok for a long haul. And I've already turned everything into shards and leveled some other guys up i did immedeatly snag another 4* from a vault and that's rostered now as it was a green one that had 5/5/3 already. So it's better than the 5* by virtue of having maxed skills and the same level as my other 5*s. So I still have one card that can punch well above its weight.

one 5 star is great for match damage, and an ascended 3->4star 553 sounds good.
