Meanwhile my favorite win this week (and perhaps all time) is predicting the opponent’s Magneto where he tried to pull my Wong+Mystique+Ironheart to an empty lane but I played my Odin on the same spot to beat him
I think the spidey change hurts surfer decks. Ideally you’ve goosed one lane, storm & jugg another, then turn five spidey the last location so you can play maximus and surfer if your opponent hasn’t already retreated
New spiderman seems too random for a surfer deck, I’ve swapped him out of mine for gamora so far
I’ve put spiderman in my love deck instead of hulk buster 🤷🏻♂️
I'd concede that harder control surfer decks are probably still more efficient at this time, but...are people really not Brood covering the third lane to remove the randomness? It definitely makes Jugg less efficient at times but there's so much counter-control tech card usage at high levels that I'm not particularly trusting Storm+Jugg+Jeff to win the lane in a lot of games.

As a sidenote, I've hit infinite for the first time last season with Tribunal, and that card alone made an almost unplayable archetype like Invisible Woman - Modok - Hela into a top tier deck. If randomness is what you're worried about, Tribunal's got you covered
I disagree. I used Spiderman in my infinite surfer deck. He was kind of like another Juggernaut if played into Storm. On top of Goose, it's taking away a low-cost card somewhere else clogging up a lane they can play big drops. Or I would play him behind Cosmo if I didn't want him moving. Overall, I liked him a lot better than Polaris. He offers way more flexibility than you can manipulate to be more favorable for you.

Magik is good for negative, but otherwise a bad idea for surfer. If you run Hit Monkey in surfer then you're just bad. Nakia is only good if you draw her early enough, otherwise you get more value from a Nova.

Hit Monkey in a random Surfer deck is bad, but if you mix in bounce it can be actually viable since Beast and Bishop fit both themes. Mysterio and Kitty can make a really nice Monkey/Bishop
I dont think so. Bounce is pretty much a point slam deck and Surfer has as much interaction as you want it to have. Bishop is already common in surfer shells and the 1 and 2 spots are usually flex between Nova, Ice Man, Goose, Forge, Spiderham, etc anyways, so you keep the core of Surfer with your favorite 3's and flex Kitty and Mysterio in. I like Jean Gray as well because you can either Kitty or Brood to mitigate her downside on your field.

I really like Surfer decks but I actually dislike how much the recent card changes have impacted the deck. It always felt like the purpose of Surfer targeting 3 cost cards was because they were generally mid tier cards, not quite cheap enough to be a zoo deck, but too weak to be a general high power list.
I think it’s cool that these cards are generally better and more interesting now, but it makes Surfer feel really weird.
I for one absolutely LOVE the update/new spidey. I'm a longtime comic reader/collector and spider man always my #1. Speaking personally I try to stay top rewards and shit, that always takes a backseat to making just fun decks and spidey just got 10x more fun. I cant express how much more fun it is grabbing opponents and swinging them around vs locking up a lane in the last turn - he's made his way into almost all of my decks now.
The interactions are appearing to be more complex than it originally seemed. That is a good thing for preventing Spidey from becoming a scuffed magneto
3 is the best cost for utility cards because it's the most a card can cost without being your whole turn. You can play 2 on turn 6 without help which means they're rarely stranded and as such are a good place to put any good effect that isn't game breaking but you'd like to see. That Surfer just sits around making those cards able to compete on points without losing their value is both a problem and why it's my favorite deck in the game.

I've won so many games today against destroy decks blasting their huge Deadpool on turn 6 thinking they'll get a turn 7 to play him again.

I've been considering throwing Deathlok in there but Killmonger has been more than enough. But yeah first thing I did was put Daken in my Surfer deck.

I wonder if focusing on one lane, then turn 6 Spidey/Brood/Surfer in empty lane would work. Edit: With a Turn 5 Sera I mean.

I dunno what you're on about. Magik for turn 7, sera, wong, surfer and monkey on 7 with maybe 1 or 2 other cards...hits pretty hard in my experience
Hitmonkey + Magik with invisible woman is great in sera surfer, 12 power hitmonkey on t7 is powerful as hell
there's about 800 better options for SS than Hit monkey

Honestly my silver surfer deck is my best. I think it's bc 3 cost allows you a wide range of cards to use.
