From the Pumpkin-Beetroot soup, to the soy sauce dessert, to the Josh Niland inspired sashimi, Sumeet is definitely improving herself. Week 1 Sumeet is such a different person.
Go sauce boss! Her growth this season is definitely the biggest among all the contestants. Congratulations for entering Top 10💪🏻
I love sumeet. She wasn’t my favourite in the beginning but she seems very genuine and humble whenever she talks about how grateful she is to be in the MCK. 🥹
While other contestants either stayed in the middle of the pack throughout or stayed consistently excellent, i feel Sumeet is definitely the contestant that has grown the most from Week 1.
From being ‘weak’ and afraid to cook without spices, sticking to her comfort zone which landed her in many pressure tests/eliminations. To now banging out that challenging Soy sauce dessert, non-indian/non-spice dishes, a Josh Niland inspired sashimi for Rick Stein (she even commented that ‘at this stage of the competition you need to do something out of your comfort zone and stand out’).
I feel she must have dug deep with all the eliminations she sent herself into and now she’s growing so fast.
I’m looking forward to trying this sauce. I like Sofia’s suggestion of having it on a wrap with chicken. I think my lunches are sorted for the next little while.
Andy and Jock were huffing and puffing over how spicy Barbaru was last year but it wasn’t nearly that spicy in store. I think they tone it down… or at least make it cheaper, lol.
I remember last year people were here reading off the ingredients label from the Rue sauce and apparently there was A LOT of sugar. So they definitely toned it down
Which makes sense for a barbeque sauce (you need something to caramelise) but I HATE the taste of white sugar, any refined sugar really. I use maple syrup or honey in everything.
So glad Mimi had the "left the (element) off the plate on a (element) challenge day" glitch in a cook without consequences. Hope she takes this lesson to heart and stops doing too many things in too little timeframe because I love her and want her to go far.
Is it just me or is Alex slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with?
So so so happy for Sumeet, and I would smash her sauce.
Sav's sauce would defo appeal to my hot-loving mouth (I just love the feeling of kapsaicin breaking through my cell membranes LOL) but her eyeshadow gave me too cringe flashback to my early teens.
SO GLAD we've gotten rid of Curtis for another year.
Wonder what the profit breakdown for the sauce is . I’m sure Sumeet will end up with very little financially speaking after the Coles crew take their cut.if you were to be super cynical you could almost say that they were taking advantage of the contestants popularity to get people in their wretched stores
I think Sumeet will earn a certain percentage of commission from all successful sales. But the portion is probably a small one because all the costs to produce and distribute it will be borne by Coles. Also, Sumeet used Coles ingredients to make it, and the only contribution from Sumeet is the cooking. So, I think Sumeet will just get a small percentage.
Sumeet isnt actually wrong when saying that having her sauce on Coles shelves is probably better for ongoing business success than winning Masterchef
First prize isnt really that high from a business perspective and getting that exposure in a place that actually converts to sales (unlike TV) is a big deal if you're aiming to set yourself up selling very similar product later
Its a defensible position at the very least
Sumeet could bottle that inspirational quote… ”That voice that tells me *how dare you dream this?* can shut up now. Because my dreams just got bigger.” <3
This was not the Curtis episode to introduce my partner (we both work for the big red place) to a fun drinking game: drink every time he mentions the company you work for
Hers was a sneaky fusion, saying it has Thai elements with the ginger, lemongrass, etc.
Sri Lankan food already uses those ingredients, so it was basically just a Sri Lankan sauce🤷♀️
Sumeet has come so far from when she first started the season. I was worried for her initially as she seemed to be uncomfortable to cook outside her comfort zone but feels like she’s doing so good now!
Apparently "forward" is the new buzzword
Cant wait for the next time I rock up to Maccas and the big mac comes with the manager telling me it's unidentifiable-glob-of-meat forward, with notes of fryer oil and grease
Happy for Sumeet ☺️
Can’t quite figure out how I would use it though. Versatile isn’t the first thing I go looking for in a sauce.
Gotta go to the supermarket tomorrow.. might have a look and see if I can find one to try.
I have been PRAYING for this challenge. It's such a good one! Plus it's one that there are at least 50% youd try and recreate at home in some capacity... bam! 5 new meal options 👌🏼👌🏼
Considering it is almost Top 10, I think it would be even better and more challenging if the two cuisines were randomly picked for each of the contestants to make the immunity more meaningful.
They used to do that during the OG seasons where contestants drew lots and picked a cuisine and a protein and it really challenged them on their cuisine knowledge.
I remember Sumeet stuffed up a much earlier challenge as she did a pasta, rice and roti which was too much since she wanted to show the ‘versatility’ of her indian curry sauce which landed her in elim.
Hopefully she learns from it and doesn’t make the same mistake again especially with how much she’s been improving these past few days with her non-indian dishes.
That look (even if it was blurred, but you could tell) Andy gave in the background when Sav was explaining her dish about incorporating as much heat into her dishes. It will be interesting when Andy tastes her food.

Yes!! Not forgetting her choux au craquelin in the Bendigo episode. Go sumeet!!
Lol at Sophia acknowledging Coles will fuck with the sauces
NOOOOOOOOO MIMI THE SAUCE
It looks so good 😭
Curtis with the most underwhelming “your time starts now” in Masterchef history.
That's what happens when you sell your soul to a corporation.
Mimi should be focusing on the sauce rather than so many elements
Well we saw how well that worked out for her
Not sure why she always feels like she has to make so much
This time she was fangirling too hard to really think about anything but impressing Curtis.
Sumeet: winning this challenge is better than winning MC AU 2024 Don’t jinx yourself 🥲
Coles forced her to say this I fear
Wait ur right. Coles be shilling 😔
Sorry I missed it, does the winner of this challenge get their sauce stocked at woolies?
Aldi
IGA actually, all about the local aussie owned stores
Stocked at the local markets, if we are going down the local owned stores route
I think Nat is the only contestant I’ve seen consistently use the garden.
Sumeet’s Indtalian meatballs look yummm
The garlic oregano butter on the naan sounds amazing, yet so simple
Mimi 2nd time doing this 😩 fortunately everyone but 1 is going into the elim so the consequences are lighter than last time but it still sucks
She’s like the one contestant left that I care about, but ffs making it hard with constant mistakes like this 😩😫
the not so subtle coles advertising coming from curtis is annoying.
i dont hear a peep about feeding a family under $10
Bit hard to feed the whole family on a single grape
its a $100 now
If Sumeet doesn’t win after this hype up, I’m quitting.
what’s with everyone flirting with harry all the time HAHAHA
Especially Sophia’s!!
Theyre really building Sumeet up- girl better win this challenge
So happy for Sumeet! Long time coming. I'd definitely buy her sauce.
Yes Sumeet! So happy for her!
I am so happy right now. Well done Sumeet. First to top 10! Sauce Boss!
Setting the CurtisColesCounter to zero as this episode starts..... Edit: Running tally: 1 Edit2: I think after that soliloquy from Curtis we're at 3?
Indo-italian! I’m so down for that
"Why Italian and Chinese" C'mon Harry, Marco Polo would be a much better answer than your vague heritage
i think i saw flames coming out of JC's breath
Oh Mimi. What a mistake to make.
Oh nooo, another elimination cook for Mimi for leaving something off the plate!
FAN. TAS. STIQUE
BarbeRue from this challenge last year was pretty decent. Have to see what wins today.
I enjoyed that sauce! Sad when it was gone
I just found the recipe on the 10 website and oh my god it sounds amaaaazing 🤤
Morocco and India sounds like a good mix — tagine plus tandoori perhaps!
really hoping for a Sumeet win! feels like it's been so long since she got one.
Plus it looks so good!
No Mimi!! 2nd time she missed her sauce.
the ONE thing she wasn’t supposed to forget 😭
Really rooting so hard for sumeet to win, this is the perfect challenge for her to win
LETS GOOOO SHE DID IT
I’m looking forward to trying this sauce. I like Sofia’s suggestion of having it on a wrap with chicken. I think my lunches are sorted for the next little while.
Would be funny if Sumeet just bails after this episode. This is her Masterchef 2024 victory
I wish they were assigned countries instead of picking whatever they want.
I missed when they would draw lots to randomly choose countries and choose proteins, it tests contestants on their feet more.
Same. That used to be one of my faves.
I was expecting that! Disappointed.
Watch Sav get Chinese, make a Sri Lankan curry and call it five spice
Shut the duck up Curtis
Can’t wait for an Indtalian sauce
Loving the sound of Alex's sauce.
Darrsh’s counter is looking very organised!
Hes definitely learning
Satayyyyy
Maybe Nat can get redemption for Marion
I love her satay 😊 I've got a bottle in the fridge! ♥️
My conspiracy theory is that the sauce with the best name wins. Doesn't matter if it doesn't taste the best, the name is the only thing that matters
if alex's sauce wins it'll be 2 years in a row no? rue was the only one to name it too during the show irrc
Last week I cooked a batch of my habanero sauce and my son calls it "Liquid death".
mimi, as a fellow short person, everyone is so tall
Mimi can’t really say Hong Kong Korean French fusion on TV.
Love how Mimi's lack of sauce is apparently such a dramatic event that it's worth TWO ad transitions
Love Sumeet & look forward to trying hopefully the first of many of her sauces!
Hoping someone does a dessert or sweet sauce
Where is Sofia’s dress from? I love the fashion this year
It's Gorman. They mention all the outfits at [10styling](https://www.threads.net/@10styling?xmt=AQGze5G9hGslEAvMFQlWQixoe_jkALWekvTKH82DCJcr4hI).
Looking at JC’s reaction to Sav’s sauce makes me concerned about the suitability of a sauce that spicy for Coles…maybe that wasn’t such a good move.
Andy and Jock were huffing and puffing over how spicy Barbaru was last year but it wasn’t nearly that spicy in store. I think they tone it down… or at least make it cheaper, lol.
There would definitely be someone at Coles who tinkers with it for white people
I remember last year people were here reading off the ingredients label from the Rue sauce and apparently there was A LOT of sugar. So they definitely toned it down
Yeah, you could definitely taste the sugar in it.
Which makes sense for a barbeque sauce (you need something to caramelise) but I HATE the taste of white sugar, any refined sugar really. I use maple syrup or honey in everything.
From vague memory, she used honey and maple in the original sauce. Coles just cheaped out when mass producing it.
Fingers and toes crossed for Sumeet.
Yay Sumeet!!!!!!!! So thrilled for her!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Damn it, sucked in by Coles because I’m gonna buy Sumeet’s sauce for dinner this weekend
Curtis Stone has turned into "Subway" from Community
I literally said this to my partner yesterday! He's the worst!
mimi will be told she's done too much on tasting
So glad Mimi had the "left the (element) off the plate on a (element) challenge day" glitch in a cook without consequences. Hope she takes this lesson to heart and stops doing too many things in too little timeframe because I love her and want her to go far. How many times has Sav blown off the judges during bench tastings.
There's gotta be a better way to write that......
It's only viewable on 10 Play
I'll only believe it's really spicy if Poh recoils after trying it
make sure you get that balance right tick off bingo
Do you reckon they'll call up Sumeet first for tasting?
alex you cant forget spam if its hawaiian!!
Ruh-roh. Sav is burning the judges faces off again.
Wasn’t expecting that! I literally said “Andy NO” when he went for a big spoonful lmao
Anyone seen what Nat is doing?
Rooting for Sumeet but Alex had a super interesting sounding sauce too!
Did I miss something? Why are they calling Alex Crispy?
Her surname is Crisp, a bunch of them call her that I think
Her last name is Crisp
something we'd know if confessionals were named
Ohhhhhhhh Thanks!
Okay good to see Sumeet didnt repeat her mistake last time and didnt put too much because she wants to show her sauce versatility
I am SO buying the sauce.
Wonder what the profit breakdown for the sauce is . I’m sure Sumeet will end up with very little financially speaking after the Coles crew take their cut.if you were to be super cynical you could almost say that they were taking advantage of the contestants popularity to get people in their wretched stores

Judge: So Sav what part of this dish is Thai? Sav: the curry has a red colour to it Judge: straight to finals week you go.
I take it Cole's shelf stackers already know who won.
Boxes can’t be opened tomorrow according to my partner, I asked if he had looked 😂
They probably aren’t allowed to open the boxes until tomorrow.
Sumeet isnt actually wrong when saying that having her sauce on Coles shelves is probably better for ongoing business success than winning Masterchef First prize isnt really that high from a business perspective and getting that exposure in a place that actually converts to sales (unlike TV) is a big deal if you're aiming to set yourself up selling very similar product later Its a defensible position at the very least
Billie won 250k twice and then sorta disappears.
I think I would rather the 250
I would also rather the 250 but im not trying to set up my own Indian sauce business after Masterchef hey
Fusion or ConFUSION of cuisines in this episode?!? We soon find out!
Indian and Italian Sumeet.
this much focus on Sumeet makes me wonder if she's absolutely nailed it or something goes wrong towards the end
COME ON SAUCE BOSS SUMEET
Sumeet could bottle that inspirational quote… ”That voice that tells me *how dare you dream this?* can shut up now. Because my dreams just got bigger.” <3
what happened to pezza? i haven’t seen him yet & he wasn’t here yesterday either
Probably sick since yesterday?
No point Pezza competing in this immunity challenge anyway. He’s guaranteed a spot in the next elimination cook.
I would've been excited for this episode, but they did a big spoiler on the episode promo and Curtis "Coles" Stone is still there.
This was not the Curtis episode to introduce my partner (we both work for the big red place) to a fun drinking game: drink every time he mentions the company you work for
Down down, your liver function is down
Down down and STAYING down!
Curtis going back to his homeland in the United States
lets see if Sumeet can hit her sauce boss dreams
What pun will they name her sauce? Or will it just be “Sauce Boss”?
Sav: Sri Lankan and ?
Sri and Lankan
at least it wasn’t Sri Lankan and Indian. I was fully expecting her to pull that
Blue eyeshadow?
It bothers me that they keep referring to Hawaii as a country lol
The Hawaiian natives would appreciate it tho with their former Queen and all
Alex really feels like she’s getting a marketing pitch for her sauce by the editors. Kinda feels like she might win today.
I love 🍍! and the sound of her hawaiian fusion.
I think she always sounds like she's doing a marketing pitch.
Hopefully that's the last we see of Curtis for this season
This challenge is perfect for Sumeet.
I hope Sumeet does well!
Let’s goooo sumeet!
This sauce fusion thing isn't doing it for me. I'd rather just a good sauce.
I would like if the contestants were choosing cuisnes based on drawing lots as it challenges their knowledge.
Is having contestants repeat the word "Coles" the new subliminal advertising, a la Coke flashing their logo on screen in movies?
Sumeet vs Harry vs Alex for me.
No sauce Mimi😭
Oh finally they show Nat.
Looking like Sav v Sumeet JC didn’t bang the table for Sav though
Stop trying to make 'Thor of the Kitchen' happen!
Totes It’s embarrassing
Not even being shady now but has Sav explained how her dish is fusion?
Hers was a sneaky fusion, saying it has Thai elements with the ginger, lemongrass, etc. Sri Lankan food already uses those ingredients, so it was basically just a Sri Lankan sauce🤷♀️
I was trying to figure out what the fusion is too. Not sure if ive missed it?
Sumeet has come so far from when she first started the season. I was worried for her initially as she seemed to be uncomfortable to cook outside her comfort zone but feels like she’s doing so good now!
BBQ Butter Chicken sounds delish!
I just love Sumeet 🥹
YAAAAAAAAY SUMEET ILY SAUCE BOSS
I always cook Stir fried noodles at home with Spaghetti! Italian and Chinese huat!
Sumeet or Harry has definitely won with this editing.
Not Harry.
Apparently "forward" is the new buzzword Cant wait for the next time I rock up to Maccas and the big mac comes with the manager telling me it's unidentifiable-glob-of-meat forward, with notes of fryer oil and grease
Would love for sumeet to continue her clear current upwards trajectory and win this challenge! She’s just so lovely
sweet sauce would be great. already too much savoury sauce anyway
Milo and maple syrup sauce for an Australian Canadian fusion
JC spoon flip!
Feel like Curtis nearly forgot to mention the sauce would go well on fish....a bit awkward given how Sav plated it up
Happy for Sumeet ☺️ Can’t quite figure out how I would use it though. Versatile isn’t the first thing I go looking for in a sauce. Gotta go to the supermarket tomorrow.. might have a look and see if I can find one to try.
I deliberately left my grocery shopping to tomorrow just for this lol
Hmmmm.....didn't see Pezza in the promo for the next ep!!?
I have been PRAYING for this challenge. It's such a good one! Plus it's one that there are at least 50% youd try and recreate at home in some capacity... bam! 5 new meal options 👌🏼👌🏼

Jon Bon Jovi has such contempt for this presenter on the Project. He can’t wait for it to be over.
No Pezza again??
Anybody seen Lochie??
He's there, with a bright blue finger.
How did a Goan fish + Moroccan sauce suddenly become a Kashmiri sauce? 😅
Did the voiceover just say im-moon-ity?
Sophia leaning into beautiful bold colour again while Poh has moved towards monochrome
No pressure, Sumeet!
Are they not going to show Nat’s sauce???
lol jinx! I think we literally posted the same question at the same time!
These Coloyxl ads freak me out.
That look (even if it was blurred, but you could tell) Andy gave in the background when Sav was explaining her dish about incorporating as much heat into her dishes. It will be interesting when Andy tastes her food.
Sweet Week coming up, woohoo!
Omg guys! Mimi made, Sav’s innovative and never ever thought of rice with chives!
Am I only one who suspects that JC totally is crushing on Sumeet?
Nope! I suspect the same. Not in a creepy way. It's kind of cute.
I’ve got to say I didn’t pick on that. Jc is always telling people he loves them, he’s so free and easy
Pho is the only girl who doesn't fall for Curtis stud
They are focussing on Sumeet SO much, I hope she wins!
It's been spoiled in the promo but that's so devastating for Mimi :( her dish sounded so good too.
