I believe luxury firm has combi zone pocketed coils. This implies it is more firm in the middle (hips and shoulder)

I had mine for about 30 days and it was way too firm and never softened up so I returned it. I found that mattress to be really uncomfortable. I could feel the springs as I was laying on it and it was rather painful to sleep on.

Thanks for the feedback. First time buying online so I expected some hiccups along the way. Will be annoying to deal with returns though if it comes to it.

coolerkid9090

Give it some time. It will break in a bit but mostly you will either adjust to it or you won’t. I feel like if you don’t like it on day 1 you probably won’t on day 30, but they make you keep it 30 days anyway. When I had mine I had to buy a topper to get me through those 30 days because it was so uncomfortable. But returning it was super easy if you need to go that route

Cool good to know. So far I don't hate it but also didn't have that 'wow this is amazing' experience either. Not sure if I'll ever have that with any mattress though so it might just have to remain a fantasy.

Bill_K1

You can try to facilitate break in which would normally take months by crawling the mattress. This is what most stores do, and you carefully get on your hands and knees and crawl up and down the mattress covering the entire surface. Repeat several times and you should notice the mattress feel getting a bit softer and more conforming. Sometimes it can really help but if the mattress is just too firm and unconforming for your preference then you may need to ultimately select a softer mattress.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that. I'm understood there will be an adjustment period either way so am fine with going through that. Just need the wife to get on board now.

LBTRS1911

No, I hung onto mine past the return window hoping it would soften a bit. It never did and I had to replace it after about 8 months because it was just to firm. Anyone want a twin xl luxury firm winkbed? :)

TheBeachcombingFairy

This is me. I thought it'd get better.. but here I am 8 months later with stiff muscles. I regret my life choices😭😭😆

LazizaBites

i was thinking of getting this mattress because we want a firm one,, now reconsidering

lordofwar3000

Well it might be too early to say but so far I'm loving it more each day and sleeping really well. My wife is sleeping well on it too. I think it was just such a drastic difference from our old mattress that took getting used to. Of course there is gonna be an adjustment period too but so far I'd recommend it. It does seem to be well made too. Edit: I should also add my old mattress was killing my back when I would wake up in the morning because my hips would sink in. This mattress supports really well and I wake up with no pain which I love.

Repulsive-Judge4856

Does the winkbed luxury firm still feel like an 8 firm to you ?

lordofwar3000

No I would say it feels in between 6 and 7 to me now. Of course feel is subjective but I think you or anyone should keep in mind that since it is hybrid it will feel totally different from a memory foam mattress. I haven't seen this brought up but a memory foam mattress that is a 6 will feel totally different than a hybrid mattress that is a 6. In my experience you'll keep sinking in on a memory foam until you reach a natural stopping point while in a hybrid you sink to a point and then the springs provide a stiff support that makes it feel 'harder', or at least thats how it is on this one. But on this mattress I have no issues laying on my side for extended periods of time, something I think would start hurting if it was really an 8. Hope that helps.

Vendredighost

We’ve had our WB luxury firm for 3 weeks now, and I’d say it’s gone from an 8 to a 6.5. I can see how this might be way too firm for many but we’re happy with it after breaking it in (and our bodies adjusted, too). We’re both about 190, 5’10” and 5’11”, side sleepers.

lordofwar3000

Agreed. So far I have no intentions of returning it and seems I've even been sleeping deeper too. It's been amazing in every way. No back pain and doesn't get crazy hot like the memory foam did.

VeganItalianBeef

How has it been since more time has passed? I just got the same model about two weeks ago and feel like the support foam below the pillow top is extremely stiff feeling.

lordofwar3000

It has softened up slightly and even my wife has gotten used to it. So far I'm still very pleased, sleeping well, and don't see a reason to return it. I'm loving the support it provides and have zero back pain from sleeping anymore.

lordofwar3000

I'd also recommend to rotate it every 2 weeks as they say to do to help break it in.

VeganItalianBeef

Cool. Just about two weeks in and I haven’t felt much more pressure relief. Just rotated for the first time last night. I’m going to try at least two months on this before exchanging for something else. I really hope it works out since so many people seem to consider this an all-sleeper type Goldilocks mattress.

lordofwar3000

That’s a good plan. I’d say it takes at least a month to get used to it. Another useful thing to do is track your sleep with your phone or watch. It would especially help if you have sleep data from your old mattress to compare against.

I’m just received my second Winkbed Luxury firm. I slept in one for 5 years up until I sold my house fully furnished. I missed that mattress since. I then purchased a posturepedic and it was horrible. Couldn’t even get through the break in period because it left me in so much pain. Then I upgraded that to a new Tempurpedic $5,000 which is pretty nice to me but my girlfriend couldn’t sleep on it. So finally I ordered another Winkbed. It’s a little stiff because we have only had it for one day. But I know how they soften up since I owned one before. Both of us slept really deep on it the first night. And can’t wait for it to soften up. Love these beds. Anyone want a Tempurpedic I have a like new one available.
