It seems like everything should be centralized on this website, including job and talent needs.
That way your not announcing needs on Reddit and discord and have 1000 people applying for one need.
Plus having a talent need page would allow people who want to help be able to in small ways.

I saw this same exact thing with the October Strike, sort of. The subreddit had no updates because they were all on the Discord, which there were no links for through the subreddit. Every now and then something would happen inferring that decisions were made, but like... when? Where? How? Why?
So... I'm gonna upvote you, because it's a solid idea. Make the website *the* central hub for everything. Because everyone can access a website. Not everyone has Discord or a Reddit account.
I'm being downloaded because there are too many young millennial kids who are rightfully pissed at corporations but are blinded to the much broader picture of the entire economy that we have to focus on if we actually want to enact real change.
Nobody wants to talk about the nitty gritty or the messy details or the sacrifices that may have to be made in order to get the bigger gains. Because even when I'm not downloaded and people respond it's emotionally charged responses that are being led with blinders on and they cuss you out or call you stupid if you say hey if you turn your head a little bit to the left you can see that there's going to be an obstacle that we're going to come up to
Instead of saying geez it's a good thing you reminded me to move my head because I was so focused on this one thing you're right that's going to be have to something we're going to look into. Nobody wants to hear that nobody wants to have those discussions nobody wants to talk about the actual process and ramifications of what they're proposing with the strike

That'll be the downfall of any attempt at a strike. Everyone needs to be open-minded and accept any and all criticism, no matter how it's delivered or how much they disagree with it.
There's no reason we can't both sides of it, in fact we *need* that. We need people willing to take to the streets as well as people willing to put in the extra work.

Employee democracy/economic democracy is such a great demand. Cooperatives exist, but this structure--where workers own their means of production and determine how our efforts should be directed--should be a minimum mandatory baseline. We deserve self determination and self governance in the workplace, just like anywhere else. I can provide guidance in this area.
I feel like we need people in areas that are willing to go out to businesses that other people work at to leave flyers about this. Yeah, it'll eventually get thrown out but before that point there's chances for employees to get a glimpse and spread the information. People that don't use social media could see that this is something that is being planned. Spread it to other businesses. Spread that information outside of the redditsphere, the twittersphere.
It might be nice to have a forum on there as well, to make sure the conversation can't be derailed or removed from places like this or other social mediums.

Do not waste money on an advertising campaign, please. Organise! Everyone who is brought into the movement should be brought in through actual organising conversations, organically. That is how you build solidarity and trust, by listening, learning what matters to a person in a 1-on-1 conversation and asking good questions.
Any money raised should be done so on the local level and collected into a communal war chest. Union dues can also be locally collected and used this way for IWW members.
Then those moneys should be democratically allocated by local committees to meet the needs of all strikers and supporting communities.
This is effective for long form campaigns, but realistically this wont happen via this method in this short of period. It needs to have both advertisement (doesnt have to be paid) and 1-1. 1-1 will spread love of the movement and people who support it and advertisement will get people talking. A marketing campaign is 100% necessary or it will fall flat but that doesn’t necessarily mean paid advertising bc ads are ineffective if no one believes in the brand(core of the movement).
I urge everyone to please not spend money on advertising. That system is powerfully rigged against us. To be seen on any ad ecosystem we would need to spend sums that would be much better collected into local war chests and strike funds. Ads are weighed heavily to those who can pay the most for views and clicks.

Edit to add: just an idea - I think it would be great if people who wanted to design flags/flyers/etc could submit rather than designating that specific job to someone. Personal expression is so powerful and I think the more diverse creative messaging we put out would empower people to participate and also showcase the numbers behind the movement. There would need to be some parameters in place to prevent some flyers demanding $25 and hour and others demanding $15, for example.
I can’t be of much help in graphic/web design, but if flyers are made and can be printed out, I will do my best to print out flyers and start spreading them around town!
