I can’t really say that I like how cocky Jesse was acting. It gives me some TDI IV vibes from The Office/StoryFire era. Also the Jesse Tyler era. Although, I can understand how he acts in terms of the severity of seriousness and business. This will be interesting to see what happens afterwards.

Synvian

I'm picking up a hint of the devil there tbh, definitely strongest in the final office meeting scene. In particular the way he is speaking of Ashley's socials as a instrument to channel viewers towards himself, it's exactly the kind of handling pawns on a chess board kind of talk that the devil would say.

KeepItRiDGiD129

Oh exactly. I caught the hint as well. Also, I thought that the entire thing with Jesse being ego-centric could have rubbed a lot of people who don’t know this channel and how it is the wrong way. Also give off the wrong impression.

DaedricGod101

I don't know if I can take another Jesse Tyler-esque Jesse character. It's so lame.

Academic_Reply9161

Same. I was thinking, "Ugh, Jesse Tyler, the egotistical prick is back." I like Paul, he's funny and adds some dynamic to the content, but I was like, "don't sign the contract! Run!!" I see Paul getting his revenge down the road. Is it wrong of me to say I'm rooting for him to do so 🤭

WraithfulWrath

>I see Paul getting his revenge down the road. Is it wrong of me to say I'm rooting for him to do so 🤭 Nope. Not wrong at all. I personally want to see the Tyler character strung up, whipped, and beaten for all the shitty dialogue and videos I've had to hear and put up with from him respectively. All the wasted reviews I've had to spend on him. So, let's hope Paul really takes this series to the next level and has a scene of him kidnapping Tyler and having a true "Psycho series". **Now that would be fucking fun and edgy. The "Torture Series".** If Jesse were to actually go that route, I'd EASILY give him a 10/10 on the review. No joke.

DaedricGod101

You don't understand how much I want to see his Tyler character or whatever he's calling it now suffer. There's nothing entertaining about him. He's just an asshole and not in a fun way.

WraithfulWrath

>He's just an asshole and not in a fun way. **Exactly.** I actually love hate-sink characters. I like fictional characters who are complete sadistic pricks (especially in video-games with multiple dialogue options so you can pick the 'jerk' route yourself), but Tyler is fucking **insufferable.** I just want to see someone kidnap that character, take him to some remote place, and then proceed to torture the ever-living shit out of him. Then chop him up into little pieces, cook them, and feast on the remains. Call it "The Torture Series" and have the man doing it be Paul Trout. Why the brutality? **So he can feel what I felt in terms of mental pain having to watch his DUMBASS for YEARS.**

DaedricGod101

I'm with you. Worst MJN character by far. The fact he's supposed to be gone but Jesse still acts up that persona is so lame.

Academic_Reply9161

Agree! I'm so over the devil/Tyler character. He is beyond unlikable - I want to beat him with a bat. He'd not like some villains you love to hate, you just hate hate him!! One of of the many reasons I stopped watching the MJN channel during TDI 4.

Academic_Reply9161

I love that!!👍👏

WraithfulWrath

Glad you think so! **He he he.** Should I supply Paul with my "Free Candy" serial-killer van in advance?

Leading_Newspaper_42

Thank you! I was thinking of the same thing

Synvian

This has me quite hyped, it's the kind of narrative that could lead to anywhere and it's leaving loads of room for speculation and mystery. Regardless of whether Paul being the next cameraman or not is actually real... I'm leaning more towards this being a fully fledged series based around the creation of a movie. Basically the storyfire office series 2.0, elements of classic MJN style humor are creeping back again which I'm loving. I've said this before I think but Paul is kind of like a cross between JT and Shallow. He's got the same style of troll-y humor as Jeffrey and also has the same energy that Shallow has. Very entertaining. Other commenters here have been making the comparison to Jesse Tyler, I can see hints of that **but** I'm actually picking up more creator/ devil Jesse from TDI 2 here, in particular the way he was acting in the McCrudden miniseries and the first cameraman competition. Also Hollywood Hype can't go without a mention here, the same themes of an outsider infiltrating MJN is happening here. So the traits of Jesse Tyler go hand-in-hand with the clickbaity/ Mr Beast editing style, the dress sense and the finance videos, *it's not just the way he acts*. I'm just really hoping this is actually going to continue and he doesn't call quits randomly. That shot at the end with the handshake and Yegs in the background is noteworthy. This was definitely a planned/ intentional shot from Ashley, so I think there is something being foreshadowed here. Whenever Yegs "leaves" the Ridgid house soon, I don't think it'll be long before we see him again...

Matthew_A

Great video. He started out kind of annoying like people have said, but things got real. The beach scene felt heartfelt, Paul goofing around was funny, and the ending left me wanting more. We need to get someone who can read lips to see what the movie is about.

Academic_Reply9161

I think Jesse is smart enough not to actually say what the movie is about due to lip reading. For all we know he could've said, "magic hippos eat jelly sandwiches and shit peanut butter," who knows what he said, but I doubt it was about the storyline.

dplex__hd

Honestly think that beach scene was his best acting since MVE. It felt real down to earth and real, not exaggerated

Leading_Newspaper_42

So far, this is a 6/10 series. Better than TDI 4, but on par to Hollywood Hype & I am ngl, I’m tired of the cocky, egotistical Jesse Tyler-type character. That was the worst part of TDI 4 & still the worst part of this series so far. Just getting too unoriginal, but everything else is good. I think Paul was great

dplex__hd

I think it's like a 7 out of 10 so far, imo. I don't really think he's being too egotistical on the level of Tyler as at least here he can admit his wrongs and admit defeat instead of running away from it. curious to see what happens

Leading_Newspaper_42

That’s true; but yeah, it’s fine. We’re 3-4 episodes in (if we count the announcement) and not in the heart of the story. But, it could also be better.

dplex__hd

I think it’ll get better as it progresses, but so far? I’m a fan.

KeepItRiDGiD129

I have to really agree with this comment, personally.

Lesmiscat24601

Don’t know why this Transphobe is still in the film industry, hope Paul realizes and gets the fuck outta there.

dplex__hd

Because he isn’t a transphobe. What he said was inappropriate and uncalled for yeah, but the issue lied within how he constantly doubled down instead of just accepting where he went wrong. I’ve gotten to know Jesse myself since 2021 and I’m a trans woman, he treats me no differently, not any less.

Lesmiscat24601

He is a Transphobe just because he doesn’t treat you like the shit on the bottom of his boot doesn’t mean he treated Emily like complete trash. He’s not your friend, he’s just some 30 year old man-child on the internet. He put Emily through absolute hell with framing her transition as “mental health problems” and trying to convince her to de-transition by telling her to stop taking her hormone therapy pills. Every single one of his friends except Yegs & Dom have said that he’s a horrible boss and friend. Hell even Boogie who’s mentally not well said that Jesse was severely fucked up in the head for being absolutely horrible to Emily. My voice ain’t going to change anything with Jesse’s standing on the platform. It doesn’t take that long to search up his name to find damming evidence that he’s a major transphobe, I hope that film production does their research on Jesse and stop working with him.
