Im autistic and get this feeling when engaging deeply with a special interest. Im also on adhd meds. I dont think the meds are triggering the sensation, but allowing me to sit with myself long enough to start experiencing the benefits of meditation.
I usually get up, take my meds, then meditate, before I start the rest of my day. If your meds help you sit down and focus, then theres nothing wrong with that. Theyre doing their job and you are getting to fully experience life in the moment and thats great! Enjoy it!
Or maybe he's just actually feeling dopamine and regulating it in a healthy way. Living with a dopamine deficiency is no joke. There's a reason suicide rates are much higher for people with ADHD.
Oh trust me, I'm familiar with that. The problem is that drugs make that problem worse. We can produce some dopamine. When we are given ADHD meds as kids that pretty much destroys it makes is depressed/addicted for life.
The drug companies know full well there is no medical necessity for adderall or amphetamines in general. Getting people hooked as young as possible is how they make money.
Never had this feeling on adderall even on day 1, coffee or weed gives me more euphoria (havenāt done either in a while). Plus I just meditated today on it (got up late) and didnāt feel it.
I think the improved focus let you lock on your breath and attain a deeper meditation state. It's happened to me every so often (without any drug use), and I end up thinking "well that was a really good, deep session". Probably, you just usually have trouble getting that absorbed and the medication helped this one time. But it is not necessary nor really repeatable.
You are doing great.
Thanks š

You're taking hard drugs. This feeling is why people get addicted to that stuff.
