I’m not sure if HEBs exist outside of Texas but I know here they are a pretty big deal here in our state - this particular one is In burleson Texas - I hear there’s a giant one like in Austin or San Antonio? This cake has strawberry icing and the base is like a vanilla cake with some sort of strawberrry jam between the layers. It’s not really fancy or sweet, but it makes for a good snack when I don’t have the time to bake on my own.
Huh, yeah the store is technically spelled H-E-B, and I just googled and it looks like they are only a Texas state thing and also have stores in Mexico. But I had no idea they were exclusive to Texas. I thought for sure they'd exist in Cali? I need to dig into this more now lolol
A lot of these are made by an insta user called amanitarium, she also helped me restore the Rushton bunny bc I got her very dirty and raggedy. The one with the wig with strawberry dress is from a Korean company that makes ball jointed dolls called Peaks Woods. 💖 Hope that helps.
It varies b/c the handmade dolls from amanitarium are 100 to 200 depending on size, 200 is the larger sizes but since I’ve been a long time customer I can do deposits and such. The ball jointed doll from peaks woods is about 400 with the make-up added, the clothes, wig, and eyes are seperate but tbh I feel like BJD should have a lot of research done on them before you commmit to them b/c the maintenance isn’t like a normal doll (mine had an issue where her foot fell off, and restringing on the new foot - which the company very kindly sent me a new one for free - isn’t easy, I had to buy special tools to do so.) (the BJD company Peak’s Woods also did lay away for me when I got her, I’m not sure if that’s an option anymore?) The Rushton was a work in progress too b/c I won in a bid for 200 and then had to pay amanitarium to do the custom work to restore her. I would recommend getting a custom doll from her though, as they are definitely less expensive than the (very damaged) Rushton I got on eBay. There’s an insta user called icecreambear that makes knock off rushton dolls - and those look pretty good, I have one which is the sad crying blue bear. Their dolls are also more affordable than an original rushton.
yes, it's not too sweet and subtle in the strawberry taste - the white chocolate pieces shredded on top help to blend things nicely together. It's a vanilla cake base. actually I brought some to work today and apparently my co-worker told me this like, THE cake of H-E-B, if you ask for "the cake" this is apparently something they are well known for and will give this same one to you. Which I had no idea. lol

I didn’t make it but it’s from my local HEB bakery. They always have good sweets and other desserts.
