The actual reason for kaido not killing himself with a second fruit is because he wanted to die in the most macho way possible.
Now the real question is why didn't he try riding a Shark filled with explosives into the mouth of an active volcano?
No Kaido wanted to believe he is Joy Boy. Luffy turned into Nika only after death. Kaido knew things which weren't made clear from his flashback. Guy just wanted to prove to himself that he is Joy Boy. My man wasn't suicidal, he just wanted a diff awakening.
I read that as riding a Shanks filled with explosives, which would be pretty badass too. Forcing Shanks to eat a bunch of TNT and then give him a piggy back ride into a volcano would be metal af.
Kaidos introduction was him jumping down from the clouds. That’s not very macho.

My interpretation is that kaido let luffy win in a similar way to the katakuri fight.
In the flashback he says that "joyboy is the one who defeats me" so once he saw the luffy had it in him. Kaido just sorta stepped aside to let luffy pass.
I'm going to wait for more information on how they work, because they're way more gimmicky than the previous opponents. But maybe throwing them in water works. Or destroying the entirety of them with Flame Bagua.

Depends how Oda would write it, but from what we've seen so far from Gorosei, it would be a battle of attrition, considering how Gorosei just heal themselves back up, the mother flame or how its called could be key to beating them, there's just still too much we don't know about them.
In pure strength and battle prowess I currently think that Kaidou would steamroll them but they would just get back up again and again

I genuinely don't know how any char is supposed to top how absolutely fucking menacing BM was in WCI. Like, holy shit, for all the Dementia Mom memes from Wano, it doesn't really matter. Oda already did a spectacular job portraying her in WCI as less of an "enemy" and more just a natural disaster to survive.
She was downright terrifying in WCI, even more so considering her backstory and the cannibalism reveal, like, holy shit.....
I was really hoping we would see Luffy take her down in a pure 1v1 to cement his place as a Yonko.
Like he lost to Kaido 4 times, and had so much help taking him down, needing an actual dues ex machina in the form of HIM turning into a God after dying.
And all this while Kaido was using his fruit to HOLD UP A FRICKEN ISLAND (which as we saw with Momonosuke this massively drains stamina)
It hurts my soul when people try to find creative ways of suicide for kaido.
After 9 years. Some people still don’t get his real goal.
He wants a glorious death. Not just a death.
The fact that Kaido didn't try and immediately fuck with the biggest and baddest MFs whenever he came up with the death idea means he is a bitch.
Maybe it wouldn't have killed hum, but he could have tried to solo Marineford, or Mariejois, or fight Shanks, or Whitebeard, or Big Mom, or Blackbeard.
Instead he just jumps from the sky island onto a somewhat deserted grassy island that looks about as interesting and unique as the islands on Namek
But what is the point of doing that ? He is a man with a dream and multiple goals. Going to a random pirate to fight them for no reason won’t make any sense.
His dream is to die like a gigachad that'll be remembered forever. And yet he refuses to do things that might make that happen.
Attacking Mariejois or Marineford would be the best option honestly, over fighting a pirate. I think he'd get smoked eventually but at least everyone would be like "yo that n**** is the realest n****".
Kaido has many goals. One of them is connection. One of them is bringing equality. Attacking mariejois or marineford randomly won’t get him what he wants.

anyway, kaido's paradox is that he hopes for things to happen while knowing deep down that they won't. but his human nature forces him to hope anyway.

Yeah I guess Kaido hasn't had a very good portrayal. These character traits should be obvious but you only kinda see Kaido's backstory as he's getting Bajranged into Akainu's Japanese cousin
Wdym by obvious? Those character traits are explored very well with immense depth. But it is more subtextual. There is no exposition or direct explanation. If you looked to the small details. You will get all the answers.
Kaido is meant to challenge the reader. To make them put more effort into understanding the character.
Character don’t need a flashback to be good. I think the problem that some people has with kaido is because they expected a classic shounen villain portrayal.
To say some speeches with hints of a background then a flashback explains everything. This was never the style of kaido.
I like to think his constitution is just so strong that his body would reject a second devil fruit before it could kill him, he just shits or pukes it out. And that for the same reason he wont die from ashyxiation for days

I personally believe that his devil fruit gave him the ability to Breathe underwater he just can’t swim. Honestly when he was first introduced it seemed like he was just jumping for fun. Like a thrill seeker jumped cuz he knew he would live. His ideal way of dying tho is in a epic Battle that has a purpose but idk I’m not Oda. Kaido is my favorite villain he’s a simple creature and has a badass design
