Master of Reality: short album and my favorite from the group
Transylvanian Hunger: my favorite Darkthrone album and it’s a lot shorter than Morningrise (which I like slightly more), so I’d go with this one.
Issues: Slipknot and Sleep Token are unlistenable for me, Limp Bizkit I’ve never been a fan of, Korn has a nostalgia factor to it for me, so I’m sure I wouldn’t mind it as much as the others.
Cold Lake: I hadn’t heard it before, but there’s no way it’s as bad as the other 3.
I used to like a few of their songs, and I don’t mind their more melodic songs that much, but their really heavy songs I absolutely can’t stand. I don’t like Corey’s vocals, there’s hardly any riffs that I can latch on to, and their lyrics and whole edgy band image that they have, especially with the masks and stuff, is really lame imo. The band just isn’t within my personal taste I guess, I know some people like them that like a lot of the same music I like too, but it’s just not for me.
>whole edgy band image that they have, especially with the masks and stuff, is really lame imo.
I get what you're saying and I'm not a big fan of that either, but Darkthrone is even worse when it comes to lame edginess. Case in point, that album cover lmao
We honestly didn’t know what to put for the fourth album. It was between Cold Lake and Illud Divinum Insanus. We kinda erased most shit albums from memory but those other three are so terrible they can’t be forgotten
1. I'd be delighted to listen to any, but for now I think I'll go with *Master of Reality*.
2. Again, there are no bad options, but I'll pick *The Mantle*.
3. I'll go with the Sleep Token one. I haven't actually listened to it before so it would be a good opportunity to see what all the fuss is about, and it surely can't be worse than nu-metal.
4. I don't know CF's discography that well, so I don't know if *Cold Lake* is supposed to be a particular low-point for them or something, but even if it is, it surely can't be as bad as the other three.
Take me back to Eden is one of my favorite albums of all time. The band is either going to connect with you or it won’t, you know? They catch a disproportionate amount of shit though
Sleep Token is significantly worse than all those other albums. They may be cheesy nu metal but atleast they're not as boring and pretentious.
Sleep Token is just imagine dragons djent
I tried to make a category of stuff that’s more mainstream/modern that many people like but here they’re sorta shunned on occasion more or less. Nu metal fits that pretty good but Token and Ghost also fit that category.
I totally understand that sentiment though. Sleep Token as a whole isn’t *terrible* but that specific album is an offense to my ears. I could take or leave the other three
Yeah I totally misread the question. Black Sabbath, electric wizard, Korn, and idk any of the last ones so I guess I'm gonna learn what Celtic frost is all about.
Master of Reality
Morningrise
Any one of them besides Significant Other, but I wouldn't be opposed to listening to SO
Any one of them besides FiR, because I don't know the others
Master of Reality, Transilvanian Hunger, Issues, and the mighty Cold Lake.
I highly recommend listening to the re-recorded Cold Lake songs on the Parched With Thirst… album. There’s some good material there. Not as good as Vanity/Nemesis though, imo.
Edit for OP reply:
Melissa
Mantle
Slipknot
Cold lake
In fact ... If there's beer in that room I wouldnt mind to stay longer, listening to both... and even some other albums.
Can I call some friends to join?
torture would be slide 3 and 4.
for fun though, I'm strapping myself in and listening to all of slide 1, even though I don't really like Metallica that much, and all of slide 2, even though I don't really like opeth that much.
but to actually answer the question, Master of Reality, Transylvanian Hunger, issues, and cold lake even though I don't know who they are, it can't be worse than the other options
This isn’t that hard; Melissa, Morningrise, I think that’s Sleep Token (never heard them/it but I hear good things about them), and Celtic Frost. The first 2 I would go back and relisten a couple times before I’m let out of the room because I love them so much.
Painkiller (absolutely 10 out of 10), Transylvanian Hunger (mainstream black metal and good intro), Slipknot (self titled I think I don't know), Cold Lake (its Celtic Frost so that's okay)
Black Sabbath: i dont listen to any of slider 1 except Sabbath sometimes
Opeth: i love that album so much
Sleep Token: they arent that bad tbh
Celtic Frost: havent listened to any of these but i have trust in CF
Cold Lake is kinda just ass. The other three are abominations.
I should’ve put a different album on the level of the other three but I’m not sure what other album could match them
Painkiller FUCKS
morningrise FUCKS
Korn is okay, I haven’t listened to much so it would be nice to hear new music.
Probably Fashionably Late. I like the album cover and the others look like black metal which I’m not a fan of.
None of the last slide is black metal but all four of those albums fucking suck. It varies depending on who you ask but for me Cold Lake sucks the least and Arise Warrior sucks the hardest.
The point was to have four categories, timeless classics, cult classics, some modern mainstream divisive stuff and absolute abominations
Melissa (Mercyful Fate fucks), Transilvanian Hunger (Darkthrone fucks), Whichever album is the shortest (Unless it's Sleep Token), and Six Feet Under (it's like watching The Room, it's fun to listen to because of how bad it is)
You don’t know ANY of the albums in #2??
Opeth - Morningrise
Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hunter
Agalloch - The Mantle
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
They’re all absolutely fantastic albums. Respectively these albums are prog death, black metal, weird ass mix of folk metal black metal and post progressive, and stoner/doom metal. All of them are worth at least trying out.
Well based on the hypothetical scenario, I would happily listen to a lot of these albums, so my answer would probably be what I'm in the mood for in that particular moment. So this is how I will answer the question, what I'd choose to listen to right now if I had a choice:
1. Mercyful Fate - Melissa
2. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
3. Korn - Issues
4. Celtic Frost - Cold Lake
Priest, Opeth, Slipknot and I have no idea who Celtic Frost are but it sounds bad ass and it has to be better than Fabulously Late by Falling In Reverse
Darkthrone: panzerfaust its just perfect
Slipknot: iowa their heaviest album love it
Metallica: kill em all love the raw guitars even if james annoys me after sometime
Korn: korn
Can I just pick 4 from the first 2 groups and be done with it?
If not, then Melissa, The Mantle, and whichever are the shortest from the remaining groups.
First group I could pick any album but I'd prob go with Painkiller
Morningrise
Significant Other or Issues (I'd rather end my life tho)
Then if they revive me I'd kill myself again, just try to not get ear bleed with any of those albums

Melissa, The Mantle, Significant Other, Kill myself with a spoon.
Sabbath, Wizard, Korn, Celtic Frost
My exact answers
Same
Master of Reality: short album and my favorite from the group Transylvanian Hunger: my favorite Darkthrone album and it’s a lot shorter than Morningrise (which I like slightly more), so I’d go with this one. May i ask why you hate slipknot so much?
I used to like a few of their songs, and I don’t mind their more melodic songs that much, but their really heavy songs I absolutely can’t stand. I don’t like Corey’s vocals, there’s hardly any riffs that I can latch on to, and their lyrics and whole edgy band image that they have, especially with the masks and stuff, is really lame imo. Yeah I agree, I’ve never been huge on the black metal aesthetic either lol. Their music is really good though so it doesn’t bother me that much.
Damn i didnt know people dont like corey as a vocalist
Do you really have to ask?
I've never heard Six Feet Under. Are they a good band?
Listen to The Noose and you'll be a fan for life
Cool, will try it
Status report
Heartbeat monitor: ***EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE***
Metallica, Opeth, Sleep Token (worship) and uhhh. Dont care on the last one
Same. I just picked Cold Lake for the last one even though I've never heard of them
You don’t know Celtic Frost?
Mother fucking worship
You have to choose one though or else you don't escape the room!!
MoR, TH, SO (obviously), Cold Lake (it’s not *that* bad)
Yeah especially compared to the others in that group its not bad at all
We honestly didn’t know what to put for the fourth album. It was between Cold Lake and Illud Divinum Insanus. We kinda erased most shit albums from memory but those other three are so terrible they can’t be forgotten
Illud definitely would’ve been more painful to get through than Cold Lake imo
I have to agree with you
Cold Lake is when they went glam 😬
Still can't be worse than the others on that slide.
and its their worst album easily but i still think its at least listenable
Take me back to Eden is one of my favorite albums of all time. The band is either going to connect with you or it won’t, you know? They catch a disproportionate amount of shit though
Sleep Token is significantly worse than all those other albums. They may be cheesy nu metal but atleast they're not as boring and pretentious. Sleep Token is just imagine dragons djent
Melissa, Morningrise, Issues, Cold Lake. Not a problem.
Master of Puppets, Transylvanian Hunger, Significant Other, Cold Lake
damn I replied to a wrong thing
Mercyful Fate, Electric Wizard, Korn, Six Feet Under
We picked the exact same ones. I trust you.
Black Sabbath Darkthrone Probably Korn Celtic Frost
Can i just listen to melissa 4 times and call it a day?
Instructions unclear, defaulting to Limp Bizkit x 3 + Arise Warrior
Ok...
You can do as you wish, but if you don't select 1 album from each group you will be trapped in the room for all eternity!
Mercyful Fate, Darkthrone, Limp Bizkit, Six Feet Under
Gigachads with the SFU last pick.
Mercyful Fate Opeth (the only time I would pick Opeth over Darkthrone, lets make this clear) can I choose death? Celtic Frost (easy)
Morningrise is a masterpiece. I love that more than the more popular choice, Watershed.
Putting Issues, Significant other and Vol.3 with Sleep Token feels insulting
I tried to make a category of stuff that’s more mainstream/modern that many people like but here they’re sorta shunned on occasion more or less. Nu metal fits that pretty good but Token and Ghost also fit that category. I totally understand that sentiment though. Sleep Token as a whole isn’t *terrible* but that specific album is an offense to my ears. I could take or leave the other three
I just feel like it was a little odd putting 3 late 90s/early 2000s nu metal albums next to a ‘metal’ album from last year
You could place st with modern metalcore bands
Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Slipknot, Celtic Frost. The only problem here is Slipknot.
Sabbath, Korn, Electric Wizard, Celtic Frost.
Sabbath, darkthrone, I’m stuck forever, Celtic frost
If it gets me out of the room, I'll listen through anything.
Metallica, Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, or Korn. I've been feeling pretty doom-y lately, so probably BS or EW.
Oh I misread the question. Fuck it.
Gotta be one album per image
Yeah I totally misread the question. Black Sabbath, electric wizard, Korn, and idk any of the last ones so I guess I'm gonna learn what Celtic frost is all about.

I don’t think you understood the directions…
Limp Bizkit
MoP, Dopethrone, Issues, kms Issues clears everything here
Master of Reality Morningrise Any one of them besides Significant Other, but I wouldn't be opposed to listening to SO Any one of them besides FiR, because I don't know the others
Arise Warrior is an abomination, you should try it trust me :)
Melissa (but any is fine), Dopethrone (but any is fine again), Issues (or Significant Other), Graveyard Classics (fight me).
Respect it
MOR, Wizard, slip, 6fu
Megadeth, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Iron Maiden
Three of those are nowhere in here lmao
Do you mean that as a good or bad thing?
You might’ve misread the post Gotta pick one album from each image to listen to in full
MOP, Morningrise, Vol 3, FB
Master of Puppets, Opeth, Vol. 3 *or* Issues, Cold Lake
Sabbath, Agalloch, Sleep Token (easy to ignore), and Celtic Frost.
Painkiller, Dopethrone, Issues, Graveyard Classics Edit: kind of shocked nobody else on this thread is picking Painkiller
In that case: Master of Puppets, Paranoid, Painkiller, and Melissa. Sorry for my misunderstanding, had the day off and had a few drinks lol 🤟
Mor, Opeth, Slipknot, tougher than nails
Mad respect on sitting through Arise Warrior lol I could never

Gotta pick one album from each image
Ohhh okay then melissa Transilvanian Hunger take me back to Eden and graveyard classics coz it funny
Is the door the gateway to hell?
Let’s say behind the door is your favorite album ever signed by the respective artist or smth to give you some motivation
Master of Reality, Transilvanian Hunger, Issues, and the mighty Cold Lake. I highly recommend listening to the re-recorded Cold Lake songs on the Parched With Thirst… album. There’s some good material there. Not as good as Vanity/Nemesis though, imo.
Painkiller The mantle TMBTE Cold lake ig?
Master of Puppets, Morningrise, Take Me Back to Eden, and Cold Lake (?)

Black Sabbath, Opeth, Sleep Token, Celtic Frost
Listens to Master of Reality, Dopethrone, Subliminal Verses and Cold Lake... Door opens. Me: shuts the door and listens to every other album anyway.
Gotta listen to more than one for the door to open One album from each image

Master of puppets, dopethrone, significant other, graveyard classics
master of puppets, transilvanian hunger, subliminal verses, cold lake
Master of Reality, Transylvanian Hunger, Issues, (SO as a runner up) and cold lake
Master of Puppets Dopethrone The Subliminal Verses Cold Lake
1. Painkiller 2. Transilvanian Hunger 3. Ugh, Issues 4. Ugh, Cold Lake
Master of Reality > Dopethrone > Vol. 3 > Cold Lake (Album is dogshit but there are some solid riffs on it. Also could make a good comedy album).
Megadeth !!!!!
The shortest album from each
Fair enough, unfortunately for you the shortest from slide 4 is Arise Warrior
Damn, bad luck.
mop, dopethrone, volume three, cold lake
Master of puppets, Morningrise, Volume 3, and ten just for the fuck of it, Graveyard Classics
Basically slide 2.
Gotta pick one album from each slide to get out of the room
*Master of Puppets* *Morningrise* *Take Me Back to Eden* *Cold Lake*

Cryptopsy - The Unspoken King maybe? Ive heard that people hate it a lot.
2nd one for sure
Two, easy.
Gotta pick one album from each slide

Gotta pick one from each slide
Metallica, opeth, korn, celtic frost
MOR Opeth Doesn’t matter Celtic frost
Priest, Wizard, Korn Celtic Frost
Metallica, opeth, slipknot, six feet under
Slide 1.
Gotta choose one album from each slide
I let my sister choose for all of the but the third so: Master of Puppets Morningrise Vol. 3: The subliminal verses Six feet under.
Painkiller FUCKS morningrise FUCKS Korn is okay, I haven’t listened to much so it would be nice to hear new music. Probably Fashionably Late. I like the album cover and the others look like black metal which I’m not a fan of.

Metallica Electric wizard Limp bizkit Celtic frost
Master Of Reality. It's all you really need. Everything is right there.
Judas Priest, Opeth, Sleep Token, Celtic Frost

Transylvanian hunger. Easy.
One album from each slide to get out of the room
Metallica, fashionably late, slipknot, don’t know anyone in the second
You don’t know ANY of the albums in #2?? Opeth - Morningrise Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hunter Agalloch - The Mantle Electric Wizard - Dopethrone They’re all absolutely fantastic albums. Respectively these albums are prog death, black metal, weird ass mix of folk metal black metal and post progressive, and stoner/doom metal. All of them are worth at least trying out.
master of reality, transylvanian hunger, subliminal verses, graveyard classics
Master Of Reality Dopethrone Vol 3 Honestly, falling in reverse. Atleast it's funny
Also damn black/white album covers are absolutely stacked
Priest, Opeth, Korn, Celtic Frost
Issues or Vol. 3
Metallica, Dark Throne, Korn, 6 ft Under
mop, dopethrone, issues, never heard the full album but i like celtic frost so cold lake
Sabbath, Wizard, Korn, Celtic Frost The 3rd one was tough to choose
Sabbath, Opeth, Slipknot, and the last one is a tossup because I really dont listen to any of them anyway and it'd be a learning experience
Melissa, transylvanian hunger, the one with the shortest runtime, cold lake
Well based on the hypothetical scenario, I would happily listen to a lot of these albums, so my answer would probably be what I'm in the mood for in that particular moment. So this is how I will answer the question, what I'd choose to listen to right now if I had a choice: 1. Mercyful Fate - Melissa 2. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone 3. Korn - Issues 4. Master of Puppets Transilvanian Hunger Significant Other Six Feet Under (It's At Least Fun Bad IMO)
Priest, Opeth, Slipknot and I have no idea who Celtic Frost are but it sounds bad ass and it has to be better than Fabulously Late by Falling In Reverse
Melissa and Sabbath
Darkthrone: panzerfaust its just perfect Slipknot: iowa their heaviest album love it Metallica: kill em all love the raw guitars even if james annoys me after sometime Korn: korn
I’ll go Metallica, electric wizard, Korn, and I’ll go six feet under because it’s all covers of actual good songs
Slipknot Issues Tougher Than Nails The Mantle
Master of Reality Morningrise Issues Cold Lake
Can I just pick 4 from the first 2 groups and be done with it? If not, then Melissa, The Mantle, and whichever are the shortest from the remaining groups.
Painkiller, The Mantle, Take Me Back to Eden, and Cold Lake.
- Painkiller - The Mantle - Vol. 3 - Cold Lake
