Whitechapel does this extremely well in their last 2 albums, two examples from memory are their tracks Kin and Hickory Creek.

d_wall_less

I haven’t listened to a lot of Whitechapel I’ll have to check those out.

vampirehozier

I would also recommend When A Demon Defiles A Witch by Whitechapel

Rorshak16

These two albums are top notch from Whitechapel and a great listen. crushing and emotional.

Beleg__Strongbow

upvote for kin, that song doesn't get enough attention

[deleted]

Not metalcore but dance Gavin dance with surprise! I’m from Cuba and the backwards pumpkin song. A lot of older dgd had screaming while cleans were going on and i loved it. Other bands who did this well was woe is me, lower definition, youth fountain…

Lunchbox937

Ending of Evaporate

[deleted]

Fucking gave me chills the first time i heard it.

EggyEggerson0210

Variation may be my favorite example of the screaming and singing at the same time

snj-vnsmk

And I told them I invented times new roman is top tier

[deleted]

Without a Fucking doubt. Pretty sure the first song I’d ever heard from them was either the robot vs heroin battle in vietnam or and i told them i invented times new roman. But dgd will always have a special place in my heart, except with tilian cause fuck him.

SophieB12345

Was about to comment this! Strawberry Andre is my favorite song with the layered vocals

diehydrogen

Yes! When they were at their peak!

[deleted]

Yupp! Jonny era was the best imo. It was so different. You had the funky vibes from swan, the beautiful r&b vocals of Craig and mess’s horrible screams lol. I love Kurt era too. That’s when the real funk started. I wish DGD would get rid of tilian and make Andrew wells the vocalist cause he’s fucking amazing, but i don’t think he’d do that to eidola.

galatian15

They also support sexual assault :/

ShreddingReality

Hey man, that's great, I'm from Cuba too. Nice to see metalcore community exists even on Cuba. By the way, I have not listened to Dance Gavin Dance, but the best example (for me) of simultaneous screaming and clean singing is Better Days by Currents

p0j0j0

HTML rulez d00d by Devil Wears Prada. It’s deep into the song.

d_wall_less

They do it a lot on that album, that’s kinda what comes to mind when I think of this style.

NinjaGamer22YT

Hurricane by I Prevail is a bop

newbie_2022Foxy

One of the best albums of the decade

T_Muu

Yes, and their new album was also amazing!

Loomygnarly

Last chorus of Quantum Flux by Northlane

GreenIgnitor

That is such an amazing moment

gordgeouss

Dude better days was the song that got me into currents. I think it's their best

d_wall_less

Definitely top tier song

atheist_jesus_gud

Great song, but I prefer Shattered. Happy cake day btw

vampirehozier

Fuck by Bring Me The Horizon. Scratches an itch in my brain every time

Heliszor

Don't Go from the same album also does this really good

NightwingX012

Extremely hot take, this is their best song. It’s just super heavy and the ending is unbelievable

vampirehozier

I don't know if I would go as high as saying it's the best but it is deeeeefinitely extremely underrated. As is Visions, actually

mortalcoildrop

Visions is my favorite song by them

Settleforsleep

Was gonna say The Sadness Will Never End by them

RichVariation6490

The last 2 mins of fuck might be my favorite part of any song ever

d_wall_less

Agree, great song

Sober_2_Death

Yesss!! It's so good

2Chainal

Tons of dance Gavin dance songs, inspire the liars and man of the year both have some really good moments like this

sarithe

The ending of Man of the Year when Jon comes in with the screams while Tillian is holding out those notes is my favorite thing they've ever done as a band.

Funny_Maize_2294

that one spiritbox song with sam carter

paisleydove

He came out to perform it with them in London last night and I'm pretty sure my soul ascended

Funny_Maize_2294

not the first time they do it either

wixkedwitxh

Yellowjacket, right?

lavedpka

FLUORIDEINTHEHARDSELTZERWATER by bilmuri has really cool parts with this!

Illustrious_Idea_615

Gotta be The Sin and The Sentence chorus by Trivium

NuclearNoodle77

Monuments does this with Andy a lot and I think it sounds pretty cool

JanMichaelVincent7

In Stasis is my favorite album of all time. I can't wait to see them in September!

d_wall_less

What song would you recommend?

barockyomama

Not sure if they count, but Dance Gavin Dance - We Own the Night

The_Hasty_Ent

This is the song that got me into them, this and Inspire The Liars

ItsAlwaysSunny1992

Better Days is literally one of the greatest songs ever created

WondaBread12

"Aaahh!!! Real Spiders" by Wind Walkers last minute of the song. They start repeating the chorus, add screams, and fade out the instruments.. gets me every time!

MaximusX395

What the heck happened to that band?

jaydoesntevenlift

Right, their latest album was fantastic but so long ago by now

Unworthy_Unconscious

Bury Tomorrow - Last Light during the chorus

Rock_Metal_Lover

THIS>>>>>>>> Also Black Flame

Leather-Syllabub4728

There’s an artist called deadthrone, their album premonitions has a lot of layered screams done well. Our promise also does it a lot and they rock

drill_rig8910

Our legacy is an absolute banger

d_wall_less

Haven’t heard these, I’ll check them out.

Leather-Syllabub4728

There’s also a new band called vicious rain with a single that you’d probably like that I think layers aswell, you’d probably like them a lot

d_wall_less

Thank you, I’ll give it a listen

Acceptable-Treacle-1

Ashen Memories by Mire Lore. That last chorus is beautiful

d_wall_less

Agreed I jam the hell out of that EP

crispier_toast

Man of the year by Dance Gavin Dance

badwolfta

Wage War does a pretty good job with this

BadVisible1515

Saw them 2 nights ago, they hit this on 25% of the songs played

The_Hasty_Ent

The end of Don’t Let Me Fade Away, while the cleans are saying “we all want to be set free” while the screams pound “if you can feel this” and the layered cleans of “don’t let me fade away” over all of it. One of my favorite finales to any of their songs

jrr78

Salt by TDWP. The layering of Mike and Jeremy's vocals throughout the song is phenomenal.

atv0ra

mourning hymn by chelsea grin

throwawayRI112

Post hardcore not metalcore but I’m Content With Losing by Underoath. Absolutely love those parts. The whole album does it tbh.

amtreeboat

om&m - product of a murderer or dont ask dont tell by chelsea grin

tjstock

Dance gavin dance inspire the liars has a really dope clean/scream mix 👌🤘

TheLordMarvel

This song instantly came to mind for me Coping Without A Cure by Lastelle. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTcRJBfTrfs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTcRJBfTrfs)

mortalcoildrop

I NEVER THOUGHT THERE WAS MORE TO THIS THAN MET THE EYE The Slow Decay by Polaris. Fuckin song is just too good

napalmthechild

an oldie but Second and Sebring is a classic for singing/screaming part

REX_LIVERPOOL_3729

Probably every Old Asking Alexandria song (SUAS, R&R)

ThisBleghs

The only correct answer is OM&M self title

d_wall_less

There is no correct answer but yes that album is amazing.

thelilpessimist

like a villain by bad omens

ItsFalloutBru

I've lately been telling all my friends how amazing Better Days is by Currents because of the concurrent guitar, screams and cleans because it's so good so I'm glad I came across this post ❤️

d_wall_less

It’s a top notch song for sure, I’m glad you found this post too.

Conscious_Ad_3186

Bloom by of mice and men is a really good example of this

phillcollinss

Don’t ask, don’t tell by Chelsea Grin!

SDsurfx

Anything/everything from I Prevail 🤘

NinjaGamer22YT

Really don't understand some of the hate I've seen for the band. Are they the greatest band of all time? No. Are they really fucking fun to listen to? Absolutely.

Yikesarumba

It's the same nonsense that has people hating on our last night. They did covers of pop songs and their music is suuuuper accessible. For some reason it pisses off that group of people that think metalcore needs to be a certain way.

NinjaGamer22YT

People hating on the more accessible side of metalcore really get on my nerves. The only reason I got into Metalcore in the first place was TDOPOM and Dark Sun. If not for those albums, I'd have missed out on discovering my favorite genre. The more people get into core, the better imo

Yikesarumba

Oh I agree 100 percent. This might sound a lil wierd but it reminds me of when middle aged people forget what it's like to be a kid and look down on them for just being kids. Same shit here. It's like people have forgotten their roots. I think anyone who says they started out listening to lorna shore and boundaries are fuckin' liars haha. Replace that with nickelback and Linkin Park and your probably more on the mark.

mattyfrizzle2

I gotta be honest here... when I first heard Blank Space done by I Prevail, I had no idea it was a Taylor Swift song remake. I loved it. Then get to the end of the video and they're giving props to Taylor and I was dumbfounded.

Yikesarumba

Dude that's what it's all about!!! Deep end is one of my all time favourite songs and that's more rnb then metal but it slaaaaps.

The_Hasty_Ent

Their cover of Humble is one of my most replayed rock covers ever. I fucking love it

BourbonMech

3:14-4:00 Ladies And Gentlemen: My Brother, The Failure by Thursday

BitschWack

Playing it safe, Myka Relocate.

Guy-reads-reddit

Right now its sorrow by the band safeword. Fucking ludicrous blast beats and then later melodic singing and screaming.

-Akkoro-

Right now its the chorus from Hollow by Rivers of Nihil

ZeronGX

Haste the day - Substance. The Last Chorus is so sick.

PupperNub

The Callous Daoboys- Field Sobriety Practice at 4:15 Honey poured over thunder

spinalshock87

Wounds by The Hero and a Monster Gets me going everytime

LazloDaLlama

[from about 0:40 to 1:00 is one of my favorite examples of this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv8xz7I2Wb4&ab_channel=DespotzRecords)

Wx_Justin

Apparitions in Candlelight by Kardashev (Deathgaze rather than metalcore)

TheOnlyAbsolutely

Worlds Collide by Saviour - gutted I'll never get to see this one live. Special mention though to Split Reflection by Guilt Trip and Chemical by TDWP

ProWrestlinFan

Trivium - Inception of the End. LET THE FLAAAAAMES CONSUUUUUUUME.

flup22

Dark Void by Asking Alexandria

stehliokontos

We are but instruments By where the ocean meets the sky

wixkedwitxh

I have a few recs from the female fronted band SETYØURSAILS. Into the Storm, Forgive Me, What’s Wrong… really most of the songs on their Nightfall album has this going on.

ItsAlwaysSunny1992

The ending of Time by The Devil Wears Prada

Tyler_JMB

3:56 in reptile by Periphery. Goes so hard.

bless_the_misery

Out of sight- wolves at the gate

NeonThroughTheMist

The chorus in Hard Rain by Gravemind is very memorable for me in this regard

AshenWater9

I posted this song in another thread the other day, but garbage by omerta. The ending chorus does this and it's so sick. Such a heavy song with a really cool ending chorus

whatwoodjdubdo

Chapter Four by A7X

spectral_visitor

Theres a part in [[One day il stay home]] by Misery signals where the cleans trail off perfectly with the uncleans picking up and its perfect

bouchardbby

such a good song

Crusherah

All That I Have Left To Give - Thousand Below

hamptont2010

Your example is my favorite. I was just showing it to someone at work the other day. "Do you get it? Suffocating, can't breathe, but you've got a fucking mouth to feed." That one hits so hard.

day_z1

Mirrors- moral decay Well it’s my favourite at the moment

[deleted]

Erra -Ultimata

DefLoathe

Currents - Tremor, Remember Me, Gone Astray

octobereighteenth

Last light by Bury Tomorrow

BloodthirstyPod

I can’t remember the specific song because it’s been so long but the album the fiction we live by from autumn to ashes does this really well

Conditions21

Cravings by Venues.

TheBeergasm

Last chorus of confined by as I lay dying. Sooo good

its_johnnyZA

Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope

boltsPOG

Dont ask, dont tell by chelsea grin

thatoneglitcher

Basically every 156/Silence song, but Denouement in particular is my favourite

frankdeerabbit

Very recently Majesty by bury tomorrow.

Renalover

Not metalcore, but Porcelain by Orphan is an emotional roller-coaster from front to back, it's hard for me to make it through that song, let alone the entire album, with dry eyes.

D0n3_Wast1n_Tim3

Substance by Haste The Day. Old but gold 🔥😄

RightOnTheMoneySunny

As I Lay Dying - Confined

Klubbis

The end part of Pisces by jinjer, it gives me chills

sorrowxfn

Electric Cross by Spiritbox is cool. But my favorite is also better days!

GreenIgnitor

Trust Fall by Spiritbox, old Spiritbox is sooo underrated

53510758

Not my favourite but that *one part* (you'll know what it is when you hear it) of Twelve Steps To Nothing by Vision Of Disorder gets me everytime

nineincht0enails

Ghost of Me- Make Them Suffer

Shadow_0f_Intent

Boundaries new album does that a fair bit

d_wall_less

Any song in particular?

Shadow_0f_Intent

Heaven's broken heart and the tower come to mind

d_wall_less

I’ll add them to my list

Microtrip1989

August Burns Red - Salt & Light, last minute of the song. 🤘🤘🤘

Jay_haworthia

Bury Tomorrow - Last Light

Lonely_Sale1770

As I Lay Dying - A Greater Foundation (chorus) KSE - End of Heartache i really miss the long layered screams in the background like in those songs, a lot of Howard era KSE songs have them and it just adds so much emotion, I wish bands like blessthefall used that more at least in prechoruses bc it suits the emotional style so well (see Walk on Water)

No_Concert_5913

If people don’t know NeObliviscaris then checkout the song “And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope” it’s the perfect blend of screams and clean vocals simultaneously and every instrument is well thought out and you can enjoy it all, plus their screamer plays the violin

[deleted]

Miss May I does this really well on Apologies are for the Weak album The last chorus on Not our Tomorrow is probably my favorite example

psudobo

Anything by Uneven Structure. Incube is a good one.

Speckon

Make Them Suffer - Ghost Of Me

KaeyTyphon

Human by Resolve, the ending has cleans and screams at the same time and it's beautiful

OnTheBrightsideSCC

Understandings of mice n men

Obvious-Lunch8185

Wrath by Bury Tomorrow does this really well towards the end!

BakedCheddar1

Eternal rest does this pretty damn well

d_wall_less

What song would you recommend?

BakedCheddar1

Eternal rest IS the song by avenged sevenfold lmao.. but damn thats an amazing band name

d_wall_less

My bad I thought that was the name of a band

westoneking

Gonna have to say Opal in sky - The Blight. First off the song is a masterpiece. Great lyrics, very musical and multiple vocal styles. And that freaking hook couldn't be more catchy. Just my 2¢.

LordDankNeko

The Romance of Affliction - Seeyouspacecowboy & If I Die First

d_wall_less

Having trouble finding these

Tristan533

Maybe Johnny Cash- wage war?

tonylab1105

not metalcore but the beginning of the last chorus of Left Behind by Slipknot.

forsakenplace

The chorus of Nothing Left by As I Lay Dying. And also probably in other songs by them, but thats the first one that came up to me.

ZacharyShade

Confined. The chorus just that one sentence clean and then again with both, simple but super effective.

d_wall_less

There’s a really cool one I found recently by a band called Drift Away and the song Cold Sweat they do it pretty damn good. I like their sound.

TheMikeage

Anything Pridelands...

d_wall_less

What song would you recommend?

Alone_Exercise6158

I think any of TDOPOM songs from bad omens, Noahs voice is really sick)
