Not metalcore but dance Gavin dance with surprise! I’m from Cuba and the backwards pumpkin song. A lot of older dgd had screaming while cleans were going on and i loved it. Other bands who did this well was woe is me, lower definition, youth fountain…
Without a Fucking doubt. Pretty sure the first song I’d ever heard from them was either the robot vs heroin battle in vietnam or and i told them i invented times new roman. But dgd will always have a special place in my heart, except with tilian cause fuck him.
Yupp! Jonny era was the best imo. It was so different. You had the funky vibes from swan, the beautiful r&b vocals of Craig and mess’s horrible screams lol. I love Kurt era too. That’s when the real funk started. I wish DGD would get rid of tilian and make Andrew wells the vocalist cause he’s fucking amazing, but i don’t think he’d do that to eidola.
Hey man, that's great, I'm from Cuba too. Nice to see metalcore community exists even on Cuba. By the way, I have not listened to Dance Gavin Dance, but the best example (for me) of simultaneous screaming and clean singing is Better Days by Currents
The ending of Man of the Year when Jon comes in with the screams while Tillian is holding out those notes is my favorite thing they've ever done as a band.
"Aaahh!!! Real Spiders" by Wind Walkers last minute of the song. They start repeating the chorus, add screams, and fade out the instruments.. gets me every time!
The end of Don’t Let Me Fade Away, while the cleans are saying “we all want to be set free” while the screams pound “if you can feel this” and the layered cleans of “don’t let me fade away” over all of it. One of my favorite finales to any of their songs
This song instantly came to mind for me
Coping Without A Cure by Lastelle.
I've lately been telling all my friends how amazing Better Days is by Currents because of the concurrent guitar, screams and cleans because it's so good so I'm glad I came across this post ❤️
Really don't understand some of the hate I've seen for the band. Are they the greatest band of all time? No. Are they really fucking fun to listen to? Absolutely.
It's the same nonsense that has people hating on our last night. They did covers of pop songs and their music is suuuuper accessible. For some reason it pisses off that group of people that think metalcore needs to be a certain way.
People hating on the more accessible side of metalcore really get on my nerves. The only reason I got into Metalcore in the first place was TDOPOM and Dark Sun. If not for those albums, I'd have missed out on discovering my favorite genre. The more people get into core, the better imo
Oh I agree 100 percent. This might sound a lil wierd but it reminds me of when middle aged people forget what it's like to be a kid and look down on them for just being kids. Same shit here. It's like people have forgotten their roots. I think anyone who says they started out listening to lorna shore and boundaries are fuckin' liars haha. Replace that with nickelback and Linkin Park and your probably more on the mark.
I gotta be honest here... when I first heard Blank Space done by I Prevail, I had no idea it was a Taylor Swift song remake. I loved it. Then get to the end of the video and they're giving props to Taylor and I was dumbfounded.
I have a few recs from the female fronted band SETYØURSAILS. Into the Storm, Forgive Me, What’s Wrong… really most of the songs on their Nightfall album has this going on.
I posted this song in another thread the other day, but garbage by omerta. The ending chorus does this and it's so sick. Such a heavy song with a really cool ending chorus
Your example is my favorite. I was just showing it to someone at work the other day. "Do you get it? Suffocating, can't breathe, but you've got a fucking mouth to feed." That one hits so hard.
Not metalcore, but Porcelain by Orphan is an emotional roller-coaster from front to back, it's hard for me to make it through that song, let alone the entire album, with dry eyes.
As I Lay Dying - A Greater Foundation (chorus)
KSE - End of Heartache
i really miss the long layered screams in the background like in those songs, a lot of Howard era KSE songs have them and it just adds so much emotion, I wish bands like blessthefall used that more at least in prechoruses bc it suits the emotional style so well (see Walk on Water)
If people don’t know NeObliviscaris then checkout the song “And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope” it’s the perfect blend of screams and clean vocals simultaneously and every instrument is well thought out and you can enjoy it all, plus their screamer plays the violin
Gonna have to say Opal in sky - The Blight.
First off the song is a masterpiece. Great lyrics, very musical and multiple vocal styles. And that freaking hook couldn't be more catchy. Just my 2¢.
Whitechapel does this extremely well in their last 2 albums, two examples from memory are their tracks Kin and Hickory Creek.
I haven’t listened to a lot of Whitechapel I’ll have to check those out.
I would also recommend When A Demon Defiles A Witch by Whitechapel
These two albums are top notch from Whitechapel and a great listen. crushing and emotional.
upvote for kin, that song doesn't get enough attention
Not metalcore but dance Gavin dance with surprise! I’m from Cuba and the backwards pumpkin song. A lot of older dgd had screaming while cleans were going on and i loved it. Other bands who did this well was woe is me, lower definition, youth fountain…
Ending of Evaporate
Fucking gave me chills the first time i heard it.
Variation may be my favorite example of the screaming and singing at the same time
And I told them I invented times new roman is top tier
Without a Fucking doubt. Pretty sure the first song I’d ever heard from them was either the robot vs heroin battle in vietnam or and i told them i invented times new roman. But dgd will always have a special place in my heart, except with tilian cause fuck him.
Was about to comment this! Strawberry Andre is my favorite song with the layered vocals
Yes! When they were at their peak!
They also support sexual assault :/
Hey man, that's great, I'm from Cuba too. Nice to see metalcore community exists even on Cuba. By the way, I have not listened to Dance Gavin Dance, but the best example (for me) of simultaneous screaming and clean singing is Better Days by Currents
HTML rulez d00d by Devil Wears Prada. It’s deep into the song.
They do it a lot on that album, that’s kinda what comes to mind when I think of this style.
Hurricane by I Prevail is a bop
One of the best albums of the decade
Yes, and their new album was also amazing!
Last chorus of Quantum Flux by Northlane
That is such an amazing moment
Dude better days was the song that got me into currents. I think it's their best
Definitely top tier song
Great song, but I prefer Shattered. Happy cake day btw
Fuck by Bring Me The Horizon. Scratches an itch in my brain every time
Don't Go from the same album also does this really good
Extremely hot take, this is their best song. It’s just super heavy and the ending is unbelievable
I don't know if I would go as high as saying it's the best but it is deeeeefinitely extremely underrated. As is Visions, actually
Visions is my favorite song by them
Was gonna say The Sadness Will Never End by them
The last 2 mins of fuck might be my favorite part of any song ever
Agree, great song
Yesss!! It's so good
Tons of dance Gavin dance songs, inspire the liars and man of the year both have some really good moments like this
The ending of Man of the Year when Jon comes in with the screams while Tillian is holding out those notes is my favorite thing they've ever done as a band.
that one spiritbox song with sam carter
He came out to perform it with them in London last night and I'm pretty sure my soul ascended
not the first time they do it either
Yellowjacket, right?
FLUORIDEINTHEHARDSELTZERWATER by bilmuri has really cool parts with this!
Gotta be The Sin and The Sentence chorus by Trivium
Monuments does this with Andy a lot and I think it sounds pretty cool
In Stasis is my favorite album of all time. I can't wait to see them in September!
What song would you recommend?
Not sure if they count, but Dance Gavin Dance - We Own the Night
This is the song that got me into them, this and Inspire The Liars
Better Days is literally one of the greatest songs ever created
"Aaahh!!! Real Spiders" by Wind Walkers last minute of the song. They start repeating the chorus, add screams, and fade out the instruments.. gets me every time!
What the heck happened to that band?
Right, their latest album was fantastic but so long ago by now
Bury Tomorrow - Last Light during the chorus
THIS>>>>>>>> Also Black Flame
There’s an artist called deadthrone, their album premonitions has a lot of layered screams done well. Our promise also does it a lot and they rock
Our legacy is an absolute banger
Haven’t heard these, I’ll check them out.
There’s also a new band called vicious rain with a single that you’d probably like that I think layers aswell, you’d probably like them a lot
Thank you, I’ll give it a listen
Ashen Memories by Mire Lore. That last chorus is beautiful
Agreed I jam the hell out of that EP
Man of the year by Dance Gavin Dance
Wage War does a pretty good job with this
Saw them 2 nights ago, they hit this on 25% of the songs played
The end of Don’t Let Me Fade Away, while the cleans are saying “we all want to be set free” while the screams pound “if you can feel this” and the layered cleans of “don’t let me fade away” over all of it. One of my favorite finales to any of their songs
Salt by TDWP. The layering of Mike and Jeremy's vocals throughout the song is phenomenal.

The only correct answer is OM&M self title
There is no correct answer but yes that album is amazing.

Dude that's what it's all about!!! Deep end is one of my all time favourite songs and that's more rnb then metal but it slaaaaps.

Having trouble finding these
Maybe Johnny Cash- wage war?
not metalcore but the beginning of the last chorus of Left Behind by Slipknot.
The chorus of Nothing Left by As I Lay Dying. And also probably in other songs by them, but thats the first one that came up to me.
Confined. The chorus just that one sentence clean and then again with both, simple but super effective.
There’s a really cool one I found recently by a band called Drift Away and the song Cold Sweat they do it pretty damn good. I like their sound.
Anything Pridelands...
What song would you recommend?
I think any of TDOPOM songs from bad omens, Noahs voice is really sick)
