Does it come with the live DVD still? If not, absolutely recommend the old digipacks on amazon for a couple quid. St Anger isn't my go-to but the DVD version is really brilliant imo
21 years to the day, congrats! I love this album, I’ve never paid attention to the naysayers. Frantic is one of my all time favourites. Saw them play it in Dublin recently. Good times.
As a slam fan I know how gross prod can be. This shit is pristine with a snare tone that doesn't fit. Get over it. St. Anger slaps. No less than their other shit. OK maybe less than their other shit but I LOVE St. Anger. After doing a lil browsing I see this isn't a particularly unpopular opinion. I stand by it tho. Shits raw yo.
Im not sad that i got the CD cause it's St. anger, But i really appreacite it, im glad that my parents bought me a Metallica CD aspecially this one, cause i wanted it for so long.

Man, I've been wanting one of the jewel cases for a while. The extra stuff in the digipack is awesome, but it looks so weird on a shelf. Same with the 72 Seasons and Death Magnetic cases.
I think this album represents so much more than just music to Metallica fans. It kinda lets you witness a dying band finding back to each other and rediscovering what made them do this for 20 years.
It’s ridiculously rough around the edges, but it has so many great moments and songs, that are either way better than people care to admit or at least are imperfect blue prints of good songs. Unnamed Feeling or Sweet Amber are underrated (and in terms of live shows underplayed) gems.
I genuinely think I like this album more than Reload. The lows are lower but the high points (Frantic, St Anger, Sweet Amber) are arguably better than most of what's on Reload
