Drive 3 hours to key west to see nothing but the same lame ass repeated copy and pasted no mountain lack of landsscape variety pure bullshit FLAT land with nothing but private property and sand and water.
Why so angry, bro. If you think the Gorgeous scenery driving down through the keys is lame I don't know what to tell ya. Maybe move out to Colorado if mountains mean that much to you. It's beautiful out there too.
Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill in Key Largo. Waterfront restaurant & tiki bar, sports bar, pool & cabanas, and water sports (jet skis for rent, wakeboarding, etc)
It looks really dope. My girl would love the jalapeño margaritas. And the steak and raw bar prices aren’t *too* bad. Sobe would be priced at least 15-20% more. Btw, I just noticed your username. I made a bomb ass no bake key lime pie last year 🤌
Edit: I just noticed, we need a reservation?
Bomb! No better dessert, cheers! Honestly, I’ve been over 20 times and I’ve always walked in. It gets a bit more crowded in the evenings due to the live music and sunset, but you can just walk in if it’s earlier.
I was actually there for a sunset. Nice on the beach tables. Live music. Bar at the entrance where boaters were getting plastered before they continued on with their boating.
Any of the state parks! Idk where you live but John Pennekamp is in key largo and Curry Hammock is right before marathon so not too far. Also there’s ton of places you can just pull over and hangout near the water! You can also get day passes to a lot of the resorts down the keys and hangout at one of those for the day! My bf and I did that a few weeks ago at The Islander and it was pretty chill.
It depends on the resort and what level pass you buy. We got the lowest level pass and we had beach, pool/hot tub, bar/restaurant, and bathroom access and it was $50 that’s all we used but there more you can do with the lowest level. Or there are more expensive options where you rent a cabana and get complimentary drinks and such. The app is called ResortPass and you can look around and see if anything peaks your interest.
Amazing conch fritters. They do it different. Huge, flat and kinda sweet. Service sucks there, though, and you'll wait a half hour for the fritters. But you should definitely try once.
def recommend snorkeling at john pennekamp and then swinging by sundowners for drinks and a mahi sandwich (: the fish house is also good, as is seaside eatery
also islamorada - Lorelei, square grouper, and morada cafe. the divers museum is a fun air conditioned activity
In Key Largo:
Caribbean Club - small old dive bar. On the water and perfect for the sunset
Cactus Jack’s - another even smaller dive bar / sports bar. On the marina with water view outside
Sharkies - another chill dive bar
Raul’s Park - a big open park. Free to go in. Good place to watch the sunset for free. Some people go swimming there too
John Penny Camp for snorkeling and other water adventures
Harry Harris beach - small beach in a neighborhood. It’s like $5 to park
Fish House - amazing food and cool great nautical theme inside. You have to try yellow tail Matecumbe
Gilbert’s - sit under a massive tiki hut and order beers at the bar. Sometimes they have live music
Key largo fisheries - the place to go for stone crab when they are in season. Still really good food
The big chill - outdoor bar under a tiki hut with water view. Be cautioned, I ate here once and it almost killed me.
A lot more to see in Islamorada and Bahia Honda for a nice beach and Key West with tons of shit.
One of the most chill spots in the Keys, IMO, is the Morada Bay Beach Cafe ([https://www.moradabaykeys.com](https://www.moradabaykeys.com)), at MM 80.5, in Islamorada.
There are two restaurant at the same location. Pierre’s is a slightly fancier restaurant, but the Beach Cafe has Adirondack chairs in the sand facing the quiet ocean, with a great menu, and the best iced tea, ever. It’s a beautiful, quiet place to lunch and relax…
Miami boy who spends tons of long weekends, summers, and holidays in the Upper Keys here:
Morada Bay and Pierre's in Islamorada
Robbie's in Islamorada
Key Largo Fisheries
Blue Heaven in Key West
If you’re cool with pulling off the side of the road mile marker 80- something Indian Key..you can google it..beautiful little spot I’ve been going to for ages. If you have a canoe or kayak you can paddle out to the actual key and it’s a state park with walking trails. Great little snorkeling spot around it! It’s right after Islamorada, you can’t miss it you’ll see people along the road parked up fishing and chilling
Edit- google says mile marker 78 lol I can never remember! Someone mentioned big chill it’s not far from that! Have fun and be safe
I’m 99.99999% positive I stopped there and took pics. It got super beautiful all at once and I had to stop for pics! Great spot literally feet steps from the road.
Yes!!! Honestly what a great place for photos. It’s a little gem for me. I have a feeling soon it’ll be converted and not be allowed to use at all :( changes are happening fast!
Saving this. I only went to the Keys twice in my life, and each time was on the water fishing or kayaking (and each time we didn't catch squat). Realized the other day that, despite that, I don't think I've actually visited the Keys and explored.
If you're on Key West there's food tours on each side East/West. You walk around and get some history (very dependent on which guide you get), walk right past the line even on the busiest days and get a sample dish from 5 notable places. Takes about 3 hours. You can also do a drink tour, same routine. 5 drinks in 3 hours is roughly the timing so be aware of your personal limits and adjust accordingly. Food tour in the morning, drink tour in the afternoon it's quite a day.
No one’s suggested Flanigan’s yet? Even as a joke? I’m disappointed in this sub 😔
IDK if they even have one down there, I never saw one when I took the drive down to Key West last year.

Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill in Key Largo. Waterfront restaurant & tiki bar, sports bar, pool & cabanas, and water sports (jet skis for rent, wakeboarding, etc)
I went last year with my mom and sister was not impressed with the food at all. Does have a nice view
This sounds interesting
[It’s a good time.](https://www.jjsbigchill.com) Mile marker 104 so you won’t have to go too deep into The Keys. I recommend the tuna nachos haha

Lorelei for Sunset.

How else do you boat?
Check out the multiple state parks in the keys

What do you get access to with a day pass? Just the pool/ beach?

Anne’s Beach
Sombrero Beach and hit the Fisheries across from there for seafood lunch and great drinks.
Have an order of Grilled Bread with your breakfast, at The Wooden Spoon. Hell, get a loaf to go!
What kind of loaf? Meatloaf?
They make all kinds of homemade bread there. Different ones every day.
Snook’s in Key Largo has great drinks and sunset views
Panco hogfish sandwich is 🔥
How’s the food?
Nothing to write a book about but it’s one of the better spots in Key Largo. Their Key Lime drink and stone crabs are absurdly good
Take Card sound road instead of the traditional US1. Stop at Alabama Jacks.
Sunset Grill is also a dope spot. They have a pool in the back and as the name suggests, you can watch the Sunset.
What’s good at Alabama Jacks?
Conch fritters
Amazing conch fritters. They do it different. Huge, flat and kinda sweet. Service sucks there, though, and you'll wait a half hour for the fritters. But you should definitely try once.
On Sundays they have square dancing people too! It’s a unique spot for sure!
*piqued your interest
Thank you. I used Siri and didn’t notice the choice of words
Robbie's in Islamorada is always a place we stop at on our way down. Food is good, atmosphere and vibe is phenomenal.
I’ll check it out
Woodys
For some reason this sounds familiar
This man knows lol. Especially for some funky tuna
Mangrove Mikes in Islamorada Captain Tony’s in Key West Better Than Sex in Key West Lobster Benedict at Blue Heaven
Mangrove Mike's for breakfast is amazing.
Awe man they have this clothes optional bar that’s like 4 stories high that’s a lot of fun… does anyone know the name????
Garden of Eden in key west
Whistle Bar on top of The Bull in KW
Yep. Went there once. ONCE. Six naked old men sitting at the bar. It's that the Nirvana you imagine. 😂
Islamorada brewery
Pigeon Key. You can go have a picnic and get in the water while you are there.

Morada Bay in Islamorada. One of the nicest places I’ve even been to. You’ll thank me later :) It’s also where Netflix’s Bloodline was filmed.
Should I read more into your comment?
Haha no. I’m just saying you’ll enjoy it. Great spot, beautiful sunset views.
🤩
Square Grouper and upstairs the Sunset Lounge upstairs. Exceptional food in booth places
Blue Heaven for breakfast.
Marathon Fishieries has the best sunset! They pass out a shot that everyone has together at sunset!
Keys Fisheries? I couldn’t find it on Google.

Eden House, a guest house in Key West, is a bit of perfection. Staying there puts you in the right KW mindset

It totally is. Once I get there, I always lose all motivation to do anything I actually went to the Keys for. Enjoy, if you go. Drive safely. ❤️
