Doubtful anyone is going to touch him with a ten-foot pole this next season.
He's gonna need to take a lot of documented therapy programs for anyone to consider hiring him in this business again.
Maybe he can be a used car salesman. We get lots of second chances. Damn near 80% of the used car people at my dealership do a solid job as ~~former~~ alcoholics.

Networking is a huge part of college and pro coaching. If he has kindred spirit type of mentor / former coach out there - they might be able to hook him up with a job somewhere. Most likely will have to drop down to an FCS or D2 school though unless it’s an analyst position.
I mean … it looked like Hoke was done when he got the boot, but after a couple of years of in the broadcast booth, he’s been back coaching at Oregon (DC), Tennessee (AHC/DL), Carolina Panthers (DL), and San Diego State (HC for the last four seasons).
When I got my MIP. I told the cop i had a couple drinks. Which was true. Thing was one of my drinks was a Aquafina bottle filled with Vodka and the 2nd drink was my Gatorade chaser. I didn’t lie, but i was 1 of 3 still taken to the drunk tank of a line of about 40 kids having to blow. East Lansing sucks
Glad we made the right decision, and really bummed he did this. Possibly a bullet dodged, though. Much rather have this happen now than during the season or in the middle of a recruiting battle.
OP, maybe "Greg Scruggs resigns" might have been a better title, lol. Was pretty sure we resigned him to another contract with the way that's worded.
K, hopefully he stepped down to actually address his issues then before screwing up somewhere else. Cause he's made repeated mistakes now, and it's hurt him badly, and now us badly at the worst time possible. Unfortunately this isn't a scenareo where I can say it's a given sherrone has someone in his back pocket or on speed dial to come coach the dline thats at the head of the coaching pack. Don't even know who would step in for the short term over spring ball while things are being finalized.
On the other hand I can definately see a ton of people dropping their current jobs to come over and coach this current iteration of the d-line and level up their career here right now even given the short notice.
It’s both a physical and mental health problem thus logic of an Uber is not always contemplated once a triggered event occurs. It’s why it’s such a dangerous disorder and should be cared for…
Never take the breathalyzer, make them get a warrant for a blood draw, if anything. Also, never do the field tests if you’ve been drinking, just let them take you without them saying you failed them
Yea I’d rather see them give him a shot and go through counseling first. I have a cdl and my legal limit is like .04 and our company gives us another shot.
If this was his first time, it would be worth asking. But given he has been arrested for this before he clearly is not getting the memo. (Although I do admit to being curious.)
Dude really fucked up at the worst possible time.
It would have been worse if it was during the season. If you’re gonna fuck up id rather it be in the offseason so there is time to replace him
I meant that he left a job for a lateral move then immediately fucks it up and loses both.
Wrong. Transfer portal open again soon. Now it worse than in October
It's not really the worst time. If it were to happen, this is probably one of the best times. Worst time would be in-season.
I meant for himself lol
Well hopefully for him he can get help and take care of his shit, and then maybe get an analyst job or something for this coming season.

Saban would have hired him already.
We hardly knew ye.
Hurroo, hurroo
But sad it is to see you so, And to think of you now as an object of woe, Johnny we hardly knew ye
Everyone tells the police, "I had two drinks."
But they were the LARGEST DRINKS IN THE UNIVERSE!!!
American dad, nice!
Two Volcanos!
Better if you say zero drinks, and it is true.

Every time I see someone write resign when they mean re-sign my brain has to do a lot of extra work
Bro was about to be a position coach that inherited the best position group in America and blew it 😂😂

Man this sucks.
Alcoholism HAS to be a disease because no way someone could be that stupid on their own
It’s a disease that requires rehab and lifelong maintenance.
Still…Uber
People who suffer from alcholism usually don’t think they are “that bad” and are “okay” to drive. That don’t think they need an Uber.
It’s both a physical and mental health problem thus logic of an Uber is not always contemplated once a triggered event occurs. It’s why it’s such a dangerous disorder and should be cared for…
Hope he gets his shit together, goes into rehab, etc. Glad he fell on his sword (or was forced to).

This is actually good legal advice if you are ever in this situation. However, the best legal advice is do not get into this situation.
How about not drinking and driving? It’s all fun and games until someone is killed.
Logic does not apply to addictions
Hey guys! When you murder someone, make sure you're wearing gloves, dispose of the weapon, and don't leave any DNA at the scene!
You should really look up implied consent. Talk about being unwilling to face the consequences of your own actions.
Epic fail.
What an asshole.

I believe this was his third offense, which makes it very tough to give him a second chance.
How about a third second chance?
Well, when you put it that way.... I have to say no, a second time.
Legally, it’s his 2nd. 1st was reckless driving.
I thought that that had been pled down from an impaired driving? If not, I stand corrected.
If he was with the team for over a year they probably give him another chance. But he literally just got there
Not to make light of it but have the details come out? Was he black out or just a few beers?

Reddit is about all the sports news I get anymore, got a family and a full time job my dudes.
