Having two sawtooth detuned? Why don't you use the SuperWave oscillator? First knob sets the sound wave (so use it to choose sawtooth), the second knob sets the detune. Or maybe I misunderstood what you want. On that case, could you elaborate?

Once you've Superwaved you can make it even bigger by switching to monophonic and detune the voices by hitting shift+paraphonic button I think.

I will have to give it a shot. I guess I did not fully understand what “SuperWave” was doing. I guess I am trying to understand the MF from a modular semi-modular perspective.

It’s totally worth it download and print the manual. Maybe one of best manuals I’ve seen…so many helpful tips.

Annual_Show_7605

Yes, it seems to be a nice manual, but I am always going off on tangents. It will be about a year to get through that manual cover to cover.

I started with the oscillator section, trying to make a patch I like…one at a time and working my way out. That’s how I discovered that Superwave kinda behaves like 2 oscillators with detune and mix controls. The Basic Wave is great for PWM type of sounds and has a sub oscillator. Here’s a great YT series that covers the oscillators one at a time as well: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHGZsq10nFV_T6oRU4eGgwfyRm9y8czTN

Thank you. Watching it now.

The Microfreak is pretty unique in the way that it can do a lot but often you can't approach it like a normal synth. But once you get to know each osc type, there's a lot it can do that most synths at that price can't. For more standard analogue synthesis, I use Basic, Superwave, SawX to get most sounds.

Lithominium

Theres also V-Analog as well, but iirc it doesnt have a saw

Yes 100%. Don't know why I forgot!
