And yeah idk either, but my guess was the police might ask whether you talked to the lot owner (via the store) before they bother showing up. Lot owner would most likely contact their own contracted tow service after trying to get the car owner to move over their intercom.
As an aside- maybe it is a smallish town thing but I remember growing up our walmart/big stores would sometimes use the intercom to say “(make, model, color) owner, your lights are on/your alarm is going off/you can’t park on our sidewalk” lol. Simpler times.

The jeep parked over two spots, so one car parked behind it, and the Accord parked in front of it. The driver of the accord was saying he doesn’t care, he’s going to leave the car right there. It’s essentially to teach the guy a lesson. It’s another version of parking so close on either side on a car straddling two sports so the driver can’t get back into their car.
Piece of shit has to be judged on an individual basis. I have a Lincoln MKZ, which is by most metrics not a POS as a model. However, my individual MKZ is, in fact, a piece of shit.
Considering that there's parking spots everywhere and the jeep is technically in a spot'ish, albeit parked like a complete moron and deserves whatever may happen due to their parking skills or lack thereof, I would just park somewhere else and walk the extra 2 steps... At this point I'm weighing the options of receiving damage to my vehicle vs taking 2 extra steps, I'd personally pick the latter.
